New poll shows that majority of Republicans have no interest in seeing a woman become President. Ever!

And this surprises you?

Asked if they'd see a woman president in their lifetime, 20 percent of respondents said they "definitely will," while 43 percent said they "probably will." A total of 63 percent believed they would likely see a female president before they die. 

YouGov also asked, "Do you personally hope that the United States elects a woman president of the United States in your lifetime, or not?" Sixty-six percent of all respondents said yes, while 34 percent said no.

A comfortable majority of Republicans—59 percent—responded no, they don't hope to see a woman president in their lifetime, according to YouGov. In comparison, 89 percent of Democrats and 63 percent of independents responded that yes, they hoped to see a woman president before they died.

Well gee perhaps it wasn't Hillary's politics that made the Republicans hate her so much, but rather her lack of a penis.

Instead of having a Vajayjay running the country they looked for the very embodiment of a dick.

And that boys and girls is how you get this guy.

A poll of Fox News viewers believes that the Mueller probe should continue, and that it will find impeachable offenses.

Most voters think it is important to continue investigating whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia -- but more believe President Trump will fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller before he’s done. 

About two-thirds, 67 percent in the latest Fox News poll, say it is at least somewhat important the investigation continues, and 56 percent think it’s likely that Mueller’s probe will find Donald Trump committed criminal or impeachable offenses.

And those are FOX NEWS viewers.

The numbers are much higher for the truly informed.

Some members of the Senate are also concerned that Trump will fire Mueller.

The Senate Judiciary Committee fired a political warning shot at the White House on Thursday, advancing on a bipartisan vote long-stalled legislation to allow special counsels such as Robert S. Mueller III to appeal their firing to a panel of judges and possibly be reinstated. 

Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the majority leader, has stated unequivocally that he will not bring the bill to the Senate floor for a vote. But with four Republicans, including the committee’s chairman, Senator Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, joining Democrats to vote in favor of it, the measure sent a clear message to President Trump that there would be serious consequences to firing the special counsel. 

Even senators who voted against the legislation warned Mr. Trump against trying to dismiss Mr. Mueller. Senator Orrin G. Hatch of Utah, the longest-serving Senate Republican, said that “firing Mueller would cause a firestorm and bring the administration’s agenda to a halt. It could even result in impeachment.”

I think that if Trump tries to fire Mueller that even Republicans like Mitch McConnell will turn on him, and then his days will truly be numbered.

Trump's approval numbers take another dip.

That's fake news! It's only accurate when the numbers go up.

President Trump’s job approval rating slipped 4 points in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. 

Thirty-nine percent of respondents now approve of the job the president is doing, compared to 57 percent who disapprove. 

Trump's support fell among Republicans, whites, men, independents, women and Democrats. He gained support with voters between 18 and 34 years old. 

One month ago, Trump’s job approval stood at 43 percent in the poll.

I am not really sure how much faith we should put into these polls.

Personally I cannot even fathom how anybody continues to support this orange tinted clown, but clearly there are still many who do.

When his numbers went up recently I felt like I was having an out of body experience, because it felt like almost half of the country were completely unaware that he might be impeached or criminally indicted at any minute.

Can hardly wait to see the response from these dimwits when that day finally arrives.

Barack and Michelle Obama both sit at number two as most admired man and woman in the world.

Bill Gates and Angelina Jolie are once again the world’s most admired man and woman in YouGov’s annual study of which public figures the people of our planet look up to. 

Tech pioneer and philanthropist Gates has topped the list every time YouGov has conducted the survey, while Jolie has also come first in each of the three surveys since 2015 when separate male and female categories were introduced. 

In the US, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama top the lists. 

This year, the study expanded to cover the views of people in 35 countries – the most ever – and means that YouGov interviewed more than 37,000 people to compile the list.

Interestingly enough YouGov offers another graphic which shows that there is only one country where Donald Trump is more admired that Barack Obama.

 Of course it's Russia.

But just barely.

Trump is NEVER going to emerge from Obama's shadow, no matter what he does.

Majority of Americans believe that owning a gun increases safety, a majority of the facts say that is bullshit.

Does gun ownership make you safer? 

If you ask the general public, most Americans say it does. According to a new poll by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal, 58 percent of Americans agree with the statement that “[g]un ownership does more to increase safety by allowing law-abiding citizens to protect themselves.” In comparison, 38 percent agree with the statement that “[g]un ownership does more to reduce safety by giving too many people access to firearms and increasing the chances for accidental misuse.” 

This is a shift from 1999, when 41 percent of Americans agreed with the first statement and 52 percent with the second. 

But if you look at the research, it seems the majority from 1999 had the right idea: Gun ownership decreases safety — on both an individual and collective level. 

Individually, several studies have found that the presence of a gun in a home elevates the risk of death. A 2014 review of the research published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, for instance, found that access to firearms was associated with a doubled risk for homicide and a tripled risk for suicide. A 2017 piece by Melinda Wenner Moyer in Scientific American also ran through the evidence, concluding that gun ownership was associated with a higher risk of homicide, suicide, and accidental shootings.

These facts need to be broadcast far and wide to counter the argument from the NRA and gun nuts who seem to think that banning military assault weapons would somehow render them impotent. 

The truth is that if they need a gun to make them feel safe, or like they are a real man, then they are already impotent.

Overwhelmingly voters want to elect politicians that will stand up to Donald Trump.

Americans are mad, and that is putting Republicans at risk. 

A new USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll finds voters looking toward the midterm elections are overwhelmingly unhappy with the country's direction, dissatisfied with its political leadership, and interested in electing a Congress that will confront President Trump. 

By close to 2-1, 58%-32%, those surveyed say they want to elect a Congress that mostly stands up to the president, not one that mostly cooperates with him. 

The level of voter unrest is rare at a time of prosperity, when a 55% majority rate the economy as being in a recovery. Even that assessment has a partisan cast: Republicans are twice as likely as Democrats to say the economy is growing. 

Seven in 10 Republicans say the country is headed in the right direction. But more than eight in 10 Democrats say it's off on the wrong track, and seven in 10 independents agree with them.

This of course reinforces what we have already witnessed in these special elections where Democrats are emerging victorious in places that have traditionally been GOP strongholds.

That blue wave is definitely coming, and it is being driven by women, minorities, and the newly energized young people of this country.

This could be a bloodbath.

Metaphorically speaking of course.

According to the most recent poll of social science experts Donald Trump is deemed the worst president in history, while Barack Obama climbs into the top ten.

James Buchanan, who was at the helm as the United States careened into civil war, was dislodged from his position as our nation’s worst president by our current president, Trump. 

His Oval Office predecessor, Barack Obama, shot into the Top 10, up from 18th in the previous survey. 

The biggest declines were for Bill Clinton, arguably the result of contemporary scorn for his treatment of women, and Andrew Jackson, for evolving attitudes on his treatment of Native Americans.

This poll is quite prestigious, as it elicits opinions from scholars who specialize in presidential history. 

Barack Obama is now ranked as the 8th greatest president in American history, which is a rank I always knew he would attain, but certainly thought it would take longer than one year.

The only Presidents ranked higher than Obama are Lincoln, Washington, Franklin D Roosevelt, Teddy Roosevelt, Jefferson, Truman, and Eisenhower. (Bill Clinton sits at 13 currently.)

Hard to argue with those rankings, and Obama even beat out Reagan for that eighth spot, which you just KNOW is going to drive the conservatives out of their minds.

As will the fact that their current party leader is ranked dead last.

And not by a little bit either, Trump is behind former last place holder James Buchanan by three whole points.

Hell even George W. Bush is in the top 30. Well actually to be honest he's number 30.

But still a hell of a lot better than sitting dead last. 

Majority of Americans have confidence in the Robert Mueller investigation. Far less have confidence in Trump.

A majority of Americans say special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia is fair and should continue without interference, a Marist College poll reports. 

The poll, released Friday, finds that just more than half of those surveyed, 53 percent, say that the special counsel probe is a "fair" investigation into Trump's campaign, while 28 percent say it is "unfair." This marks an increase from 48 percent who said the investigation was "fair" in the same poll last month. 

In addition, respondents said they are more likely to trust Mueller than Trump. Given an option between the two, 55 percent said they would believe Mueller over Trump, compared to 30 percent that said the reverse. 

Most Americans still have a positive view of the FBI despite weeks of attacks from Trump and congressional Republicans over the bureau's handling of both the Russia investigation and the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private email server, the poll finds.

You might think this would be obvious.

I mean of course more people trust Robert Mueller over Donald Trump. Right?

But keep in mind that the entire Devin Nunes, Republican attack, Fox News propaganda machine is all about destroying Mueller's reputation and undermining his investigation.

So the fact that all of that has only increased confidence in Robert Mueller and his investigation is good news indeed.

Hopefully that will continue to be the case.

Only about 2% of those polled reported any benefit from the new GOP tax bill.

Only 2 percent of American adults reported receiving a bonus, a bump in pay or another perk due to the Republican tax overhaul passed in December, a new survey found. 

Twenty-seven percent of respondents in the Reuters/Ipsos poll said they believe the legislation will increase the amount they pay in taxes, while 24 percent said they think they will pay less in taxes and 23 percent did not anticipate their tax payment will be altered. 

A third of the respondents polled said the new legislation made them more likely to cast a ballot for a Democrat, while a quarter of those surveyed said the same for a Republican. 

GOP lawmakers have commended companies like Walmart for announcing bonuses or additional employee benefits due to the tax law’s passage late last year. Democrats have slammed the legislation, which President Trump signed into law before the New Year, as a tax cut for the wealthy.

Oh yes, the bonuses. About that...

Consider the one-time, $1,000 bonuses for employees that many companies, like Comcast and AT&T, have announced. First of all, one-time bonuses, while nice to have, are not wage increases. The promise of the tax cut was not that it would let companies throw a few bucks in the employee tip jar, but permanently raise pay. Bonuses don’t make up for stagnant wages, as Southwest Airlines’ mechanics union, which has been locked in a contract battle for over five years, told the company. 

The Comcast and AT&T bonuses were also announced late last year, allowing them to be written off as a business expense in 2017. If a business gave a bonus in 2017, it went against the 35 percent corporate tax rate then in effect. If were to give one this year, the bonus would only go against the new 21 percent rate. In other words, it was cheaper for businesses to announce bonuses in December than January, suggesting we may not see much of their kind again. 

But Comcast and AT&T in particular serve as the poster children for dishonesty in this matter. Because around the same time that they made a big show of rewarding employees with bonuses, both companies quietly engaged in layoffs. Comcast fired 500 members of its sales department before Christmas, and AT&T is eliminating “thousands” of jobs, according to its union, the Communications Workers of America. “We believe there's more than 4,000 people AT&T has (notified of layoffs) across the country,” Larry Robbins, vice president of CWA Local 4900, told the Indianapolis Daily Star.

Just to do the math on this, $1,000 bonuses to 200,000 AT&T workers is $200 million. Cancelling 4,000 jobs at the median US compensation of $59,000 per year (some of the workers affected likely earned less) would actually amount to a higher number, and unlike the bonuses, those layoffs are permanent. More to the point, any $1,000 bonus for workers is a drop in the ocean compared to chopping the corporate tax rate by 40 percent, as the Trump tax cuts will. AT&T, according to calculations from economist Dean Baker, will see $2.4 billion in annual savings from that tax cut, more than ten times the likely cost of its the one-time bonus. (Neither Comcast nor AT&T immediately responded to a request for comment.)

Also keep in mind that as Wal-Mart handed out bonuses, and promised a wage increase, they also suddenly closed Sam's Clubs all over the country, including every single one up here in Alaska.

Donald Trump is going to lie about all of this during his State of the Union speech, which is yet another reason I will most likely be watching Netflix instead.

“I’m looking forward to it, actually,” Mr. Trump said of talking to Mr. Mueller, answering months of speculation over whether he was willing to submit to questions from the special counsel, who is also believed to be looking into whether the Trump campaign aided Moscow’s effort and whether the president sought to thwart the inquiry itself. 

“Here’s the story, just so you understand,” Mr. Trump said during an impromptu question-and-answer session with reporters in the West Wing. “There’s been no collusion whatsoever. There’s no obstruction whatsoever, and I’m looking forward to it.” 

Mr. Trump suggested that his efforts to defend himself against damaging allegations had been unfairly misinterpreted as wrongdoing. 

“You fight back,” he said, and such a response is characterized as, “‘Oh, it’s obstruction.’”

(If by "fighting back" he means firing the agents responsible for an investigation directed at you, then yes, that is indeed obstructionism.) 

“I would love to do that — I’d like to do it as soon as possible,” the president told reporters on Wednesday of the prospect of being interviewed by Mr. Mueller, adding that his lawyers have told him it would be “about two to three weeks” until it takes place. Almost as an afterthought, he added, any such interview would be “subject to my lawyers, and all of that.”

Trump also said that he would be willing to answer questions under oath, while also claiming that Hillary did not do that, apparently not realizing that anytime you are questioned by a Special Counsel or the FBI that you are legally compelled to tell the truth. 

Of course right after this exchange Trump's attorney tried to walk it back, saying that Trump was "hurried" and misspoke. 

Gee, I wonder if he will feel hurried during the actual testimony?

It should be noted that there is an article on Vox, which states that Mueller's obstruction case appears damning. 

There is also a new Washington Post/ABC poll which shows that half of Americans believe that Trump colluded with the Russians, and slightly more than half believe he is obstructing the Russian investigations.

So it would appear that the only people who think that Donald Trump is safe from any prosecution, and that he did nothing wrong, are living safely inside the White House bubble.

The world's respect for American leadership hits record low.

The global approval rating for U.S. leadership now stands at 30 percent — lower in President Trump's first year in office than it was under former President George W. Bush, according to the Gallup World Poll. The image of America's leadership now trails both Germany and China, Gallup says. 

International regard for U.S. leadership fell sharply from the 48 percent approval rating for 2016, former President Barack Obama's last year in office. The previous low of 34 percent was reached at the end of the Bush administration. 

The new survey was conducted between March and November of 2017. Gallup found that approval of U.S. leadership had fallen by double digits in nearly half of the 134 countries and areas it surveyed. 

The Gallup report also cites another record: for disapproval. Worldwide, a median 43 percent disapprove of U.S. leadership — more than the median disapproval for Germany (25 percent), China (30 percent) or Russia (36 percent). According to Gallup, that's a record for any major world power, not just the U.S., in the past decade.

Some of the more dramatic losses came from American allies like Germany and Mexico, while America only gained approval of ten points or more in four countries, Israeli, Liberia, Macedonia, and Belarus.

Yeah they really dig ole Trump in Macedonia.

A loss of respect also means losing the ability to lead, and that leaves a vacuum for other nations to take our place.

I guess I better start preparing my taste-buds for a lot more Chinese food. 

Americans once again choose Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton as the most admired man and woman.

Americans once again are most likely to name Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton as the man and woman living anywhere in the world they admire most, as they have for the past 10 years. The pair retain their titles this year, although by much narrower margins than in the past. Obama edges out Donald Trump, 17% to 14%, while Clinton edges out Michelle Obama, 9% to 7%.

The 2017 survey marks the 16th consecutive year Clinton has been the most admired woman. She has held the title 22 times in total, more than anyone else. Eleanor Roosevelt is second with 13 wins. Obama has now been named the most admired man 10 times, trailing only Dwight Eisenhower, who earned the distinction 12 times. Obama won all eight years he was president, plus 2008 -- the year he was first elected -- and this year, his first as a former president.

I love the fact that Hillary has the first spot on the female side, and is closely followed by Michelle Obama, with Melania Trump showing up eighth on the list well below Elizabeth Warren and Angela Merkel.

Trump showed up at number two, which is troubling, but he did lose a percentage points since last year.

However I seriously doubt that he will spend very long near the top, as the more we learn about him the less the American people like him. 

More Americans want to see Donald Trump impeached than are planning to vote for him in 2020.

Donald Trump is hemorrhaging support among the American people, and now more than 40 percent of them think it's time to start the process to impeach him, a new poll finds. The number is higher than the percentage of Americans who said they planned to vote for the president in the 2020 election.

The NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey, out Wednesday, carried very little good news for the president and put him on notice that 41 percent of Americans believe there is enough reason for Congress to hold impeachment hearings, even before the conclusion of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. 

The poll found that 70 percent of Democrats, 40 percent of independents and even 7 percent of Republicans The number of people calling for impeachment proceedings to get underway closely parallels the 38 percent of Americans who believe Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election.are in favor of the hearings.

Americans' desire for impeachment wasn't the only bad news for Trump in this poll. If he does survive his first term without being impeached, his chances of re-election are looking extremely bleak. 

Just 36 percent of respondents said they would probably or definitely vote for Trump against a generic Democratic candidate. Conversely, 52 percent said they would probably or definitely "vote for the other party." Such numbers would clearly leave Trump with no path toward a second term. 

Damn! You know that is going to drive Trump a little further over the bend.

Majority of Americans believe that Donald Trump should resign over allegations of sexual misconduct.

PPP’s newest national poll finds that a majority of voters think Donald Trump should resign from the Presidency because of the allegations of sexual harassment against him. 53% think Trump should step down to just 42% who think he should remain in office. 53% of voters believe the women who have accused Trump of harassment, to 31% who think they aren’t telling the truth.

The pressure is building from all sides and it does not seen viable at this point that Trump will serve out his entire four years.

Personally I do not care how Trump is removed from office, whether it be due to the Mueller investigation, or due to these allegations of sexual harassment and assault, just so long as he is removed from office.

A plurality of Americans in a new poll think that Fox News deserves the first "Fake News Trophy." 

A new poll from the conservative-leaning Rasmussen finds 40 percent of respondents think Fox News should get the Fake News Trophy, which was first suggested by President Trump earlier this week in a tweet. 

The second place winner, according to the poll, was CNN, which received 25 percent support. 

MSNBC followed CNN with 9 percent, and ABC, CBS and NCB each received less than 5 percent support for the Fake News Trophy.

I think the ONLY way you could not have seen this coming is if you only get your news from Fox.

Your Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore is a sleazy pedophile update.

The feces really hit the old fan blades with yesterday's revelation that Roy Moore not only used to proposition high school girls while in his 30's but also attempted to rape one of them.

THAT revelation had the Republican rats jumping off the SS Pedophile in droves.

However Moore still has his supporters, which apparently include the reporters of Breitbart. (Seriously? You were surprised?)

Roy Moore’s inappropriate behavior with teenage girls was an open secret in his hometown of Gadsden, Alabama, where he badgered teens so often he was banned from the local mall, the New Yorker reports. 

“He would go and flirt with all the young girls,” Blake Usry confirmed to AL.com, adding that tales about Moore have been floating around town for three decades. “It’d seem like every Friday or Saturday night [you’d see him] walking around the mall, like the kids did.”

Yuck! How did this never come out before?

For his part Roy Moore is simply arguing that all of this is a hit job with evidence manufactured by his political enemies.

As for those poll numbers that Mrs. Moore mentions, that is not quite accurate:

For the first time the Democratic candidate for the U. S. Senate, Doug Jones, is leading in a new poll. The numbers come in the aftermath of recent sexual misconduct allegations by multiple women against Republican Roy Moore. 

The polling was conducted before the latest accusation on Monday from a woman claiming Moore sexually assaulted her when she was 16. Louisianna-based JMC Analytics shows Jones with a new advantage at 46-42. 9% of voters remain undecided. Both candidates experienced a six-point swing from the last survey. Of the 9% undecided, 48% say they are leaning towards Jones against 44% towards Moore.

Keep in mind this was BEFORE the new allegations of attempted rape.

No things are not looking good for Judge "Me like little girls" Moore.  

58% of Americans approve of how Robert Mueller is handling his investigation, while 49% think it is likely that Donald Trump is a criminal.

More than twice as many Americans approve as disapprove of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation of possible coordination between Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and the Russian government, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds, indicating that the conservative effort to discredit the probe has fallen flat as the case has progressed toward its first public charges. 

A 58 percent majority say they approve of Mueller’s handling of the investigation, while 28 percent say they disapprove, the Post-ABC poll finds. People’s views depend in large part on their political leanings, but overall, Americans are generally inclined to trust Mueller and the case he has made so far. 

Meanwhile, fewer than 4 in 10 Americans say they believe Trump is cooperating with Mueller’s investigation, while about half believe he is not. 

A similar 49 percent think it is likely Trump himself committed a crime in connection with possible Russian attempts to influence the election, although more say this view is based on suspicion rather than on hard evidence.

To put it simply almost sixty percent of Americans have faith in how Robert Mueller is conducting his investigation, while just under fifty percent think that Trump is guilty of a crime.

That makes it all but impossible for Trump to fire Mueller, or successfully sabotage this investigation.  

Poll shows that 59% of Americans believe this is the lowest point in US history that they can remember.

The APA has been conducting its Stress in America poll every year since 2007, and the latest one finds that 63 percent of Americans say the future of the country is a very significant source of stress in their lives. 

Even more tellingly, 59 percent said this is the “lowest point in our nation’s history that they can remember.” And this sentiment transcended generations: A majority of baby boomers, Gen X-ers, millennials, and adults over the age of 72 felt it.

I am definitely part of this 59%.

Even 911, which rocked me to my core, at least later left me feeling that we could overcome anything.

Right now there is just a feeling of hopelessness and helplessness.

The only thing that brightens my outlook is the knowledge that the Mueller investigation exists and the hope that it will eventually lead to an end to all this. 

Poll finds highest level of support yet for impeaching Donald Trump.

PPP’s newest national poll finds a record level of support for impeaching Donald Trump. 49% of voters support impeaching him, to 41% who are opposed to doing so. This marks the 6th month in a row we’ve found a plurality of voters in favor of impeaching Trump, and it’s the closest we’ve found to a majority. 

Trump’s approval rating has declined by a net 7 points in the last month. In September we found him at a -11 spread with 42% of voters approving of him to 53% who disapproved. Now he’s at -18 with 38% of voters approving of him to 56% who disapprove. 

Trump claimed last week that he had accomplished more in 9 months than any President in American History, but only 25% of voters believe that claim to 66% who do not, although it’s a notable measure of the ‘Trump cult’ that 55% of those who voted for him do believe he’s the most accomplished to 32% who disagree. Voters actually put his first 9 months in a very different historical context- 49% already say they think he’s the worst President in American History, to 43% who dispute that notion. By a 54/40 margin voters wish Barack Obama was still President instead of Trump, and by a 48/42 spread they wish Hillary Clinton was in the White House rather than Trump.

I really think that as this Mueller investigation continues forward the momentum building toward impeaching Donald Trump may prove irreversible.

Even though it would likely mean allowing Mike Pence, a terrible choice for a variety of reasons, to take over the presidency, it still feels as if that is not enough to make people choose to allow Trump to stay in office.

I think that Trump will fight an impeachment every step of the way, and in the end the damage that he will do to the Republican party could fracture it for all time.

At this point I am not certain if that is a good thing, or a bad thing.

Donald Trump's approval ratings continue on their downward spiral.

President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has declined to the lowest point of his presidency, and nearly half of voters want their vote in the 2018 midterms to be a message for more Democrats in Congress to check Trump and congressional Republicans, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. 

Thirty eight percent of Americans say they approve of Trump’s job performance — down five points since September — while 58 percent disapprove. 

Trump’s previous low in approval in the national NBC/WSJ poll was 39 percent back in May. 

“This is his worst showing of his young presidency so far,” said Democratic pollster Fred Yang of Hart Research Associates, who conducted this survey with Republican pollster Bill McInturff and his team at Public Opinion Strategies.

I still remain confused how ANYBODY still supports this lunatic, however it is at least comforting to see that the support continues to slip away.

This poll was conducted BEFORE those Mueller indictments were made public yesterday.

I am interested to see how they might affect these numbers.
