So while Michelle Wolf was pissing off conservatives yesterday, in Michigan Donald Trump was driving them into a frenzy.

So yes that is Trump taking FULL credit for the North and South Korea peace deal, while his people chant "Nobel" at him.

I think it's pretty clear why he would rather be there, than to sit and listen to Michelle Wolf rip him  a new one.

After all it is the coward's way.

I of course did not watch hardly ANY of this rally (I was still bummed about the furnace.), but I did do some catching up online.

For instance Trump also said that if the Republicans failed to hold on to the House that he was probably going to be impeached.
Which proves that once in a while, Donald Trump CAN tell the truth.

But just when you might have been willing to give him a little credit for that, he turns around and suggests that the Russian lawyer only said she was working with the Kremlin to  "make life in the United States more chaotic."
That of course is completely illogical, but his crowd ate it right up.

In fact Trump got them so worked up that at least one of them verbally attacked the press.
Gee, forced to miss the WHCD and now covered in Trump supporter spittle, it really sucks to have to report on a Trump rally.

The Trump Administration is considering the idea of outsourcing intelligence gathering and the capture of terrorists to a private company. So many red flags here.

Courtesy of Buzzfeed:

The White House and CIA have been considering a package of secret proposals to allow former US intelligence officers to run privatized covert actions, intelligence gathering, and propaganda missions, according to three sources who’ve been briefed on or have direct knowledge of the proposals.

One of the proposals would involve hiring a private company, Amyntor Group, for millions of dollars to set up a large intelligence network and run counterterrorist propaganda efforts, according to the sources. Amyntor’s officials and employees include veterans of a variety of US covert operations, ranging from the Reagan-era Iran–Contra affair to more recent actions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Amyntor declined to discuss the proposals, but a lawyer for the company said in a statement to BuzzFeed News that the type of contract being contemplated would be legal “with direction and control by the proper government authority.”

Another proposal presented to US officials would allow individuals affiliated with the company to help capture wanted terrorists on behalf of the United States. In keeping with that proposal, people close to the company are tracking two specific suspects in a Middle Eastern country, the sources said, for possible “rendition” to the United States.

A source speaking on behalf of the company stressed that while Amyntor officials are aware of and involved in the rendition plan, the company itself would not be involved.

What the actual fuck folks?

This is clearly an attempt to undermine the CIA and to engage in activities that the agency would never sanction.

Which seems to be supported by comments made by sources:

Those familiar with the proposals say one of the driving impulses for privatizing some missions is a fear by some supporters of President Donald Trump, outside government, that the CIA bureaucracy has an anti-Trump bias that would thwart efforts to fulfill the president’s objectives. “The system does not work,” one source who is sympathetic to the Amyntor efforts told BuzzFeed News. “The people leaking this to you just want to destroy the president.”

Paranoid much?

The agency itself is located in the same small community of Whitefish, Montana which was also home to the company that received that sweetheart deal to restore electricity to Puerto Rico, and then failed miserably to do so.

Gee, what a coincidence.

How could Congress even provide oversight to a private company like this, and how would the American people have any confidence that they were not breaking international laws in our name?

Such a bad feeling about this.

Michigan woman pulls out firearm during altercation over school supplies in Wal-Mart. But don't worry, she has a valid conceal carry permit.

Courtesy of Slate:

Back-to-school shopping can be stressful but shoppers at a Walmart in Michigan saw that stress take a violent turn after an argument over a notebook ended with a gun being drawn. It all happened on Monday afternoon as two pairs of women were shopping in the town of Novi, near Detroit. One of them reached for the last notebook on a shelf as did another woman. That invariably led to arguments about who was the rightful owner of that precious notebook and some pushing and shoving ensued. When two women, one aged 46 and the other 32, moved on to hair pulling, the mother of the 20-year-old who was involved in the altercation pulled out a loaded gun.

“She pulled out her firearm and tells them to stop attacking her daughter while pointing the gun at them,” Novi Police Detective Scott Baetens said. “It was a senseless act of violence all the way around.” Police are now working with prosecutors to try to determine whether the woman’s actions could be classified as self-defense. She had a valid concealed gun license.

Of course the woman who pulled the gun ended up with the notebook because that is how you get what you want in America these days. Apparently.

I can't believe that police are trying to determine whether this is an act of self defense or not.

The woman introduced deadly force into a hair pulling fight.

It should ALWAYS be against the law to threaten to end a person's life over a fucking back to school notebook. Period!

So I guess it's time to address this Kid Rock thing.

That was from the folks at Breitbart which is why it probably made you want to hurl red, and white, and blue vomit all over your shoes.

I have an old Google alert for Sarah Palin, so I have been receiving almost constant updates on Kid Rock's supposed run for the Senate.

At first I ignored it as simply a play for attention, which may explain why they came up in Google alerts for Sarah Palin, but they just keep coming.

And now it appears that this idiot might be serious.
If the election of Donald Trump has taught us anything it is that there are ungodly amounts of stupid people in this country.

And unfortunately stupid people are just educated well enough to vote for idiots like Donald Trump and Kid Rock.

Apparently this knuckle dragger would be going up against Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow, a Democrat who has held that seat since 2001.

Could he win?

Hell yes he could win.

And then we will have yet one more incredibly unqualified moron in office helping to screw up the country.

Five officials charged with manslaughter over Flint water crisis.

Courtesy of MLive:

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has charged five water officials -- including a member of Gov. Rick Snyder's cabinet and a former emergency manager -- with manslaughter related to their alleged failure to act in during the Flint Water Crisis.

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Director Nick Lyon, former Flint Emergency Manager Darnell Earley, former City of Flint Water Department Manager Howard Croft, Michigan Department of Environmental Quality's Drinking Water Chief Liane Shekter-Smith and former district supervisor Stephen Busch will all face involuntary manslaughter charges related to their alleged failure to act in the Flint Water Crisis, Schuette announced in a release on Wednesday, June 14.

Involuntary manslaughter is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison and/or a $7,500 fine.

The manslaughter charges are connected to the death of Robert Skidmore, who died Dec. 13, 2015, due to the area's Legionnaires' disease outbreak.

This almost got lost among all of the Donald Trump coverage, but it nice to see that even though justice moves slowly that it does at least move forward.

And the Michigan Attorney General hinted that Governor Rick Snyder may not be out of the woods either.

I remember when Rachel Maddow first started talking about this in early 2016. That it took this long for these charges to be filed seems indefensible.

Idiot walks into a police station with an AK-47 to make point about open carry. Almost gets his ass shot full of holes. (NSFW language.)

This might make me an evil prick but part of totally wanted this guy to get shot at least once.

I mean his face is covered and he walks into a police station brandishing a weapon. What could he possibly have expected?

Let's face it if this had been a black guy they would have dropped him at the door.

What we gleaned from the voter recount. Michigan's voting system is FUBAR.

This is the first hand account from a man who participated in the recount.

See if you can pick out any nuance to suggest how afraid of this recount the Trump folks were.

Courtesy of Medium:

On December 7, 2016, I volunteered as an observer with Recount Michigan 2016. I showed up at 9:00am sharp in the heart of Detroit, in heavily democratic Wayne County, Michigan.

It was a bloodbath.

I did not count a single vote during my entire first four-hour shift.

Trump’s legal team was there in force, circling the room like sharks. They were challenging everything, gumming up the works and disqualifying whole precincts. I was only aware of a single Green Party attorney plus one law student in my (large) room. Many challenges had one or more Trump lawyers speaking with election officials, and no legal advocate present for the other side; they were simply outnumbered and outgunned.

Every recount table had 1–2 Trump observers present, each one holding written scripts to challenge every single precinct, regardless of the facts.

At the end of his post Mr. Sharp wonders if this same scenario played out in other places in Michigan. I think that is a fairly safe assumption.

But if Trump won by the "landslide" that he claims to have won by why would they be so nervous?

Perhaps this is why?

Courtesy of News One:

According to officials, over 80 machines were deemed faulty on November 8 which may have caused electronic vote tallies to be off in over half of the precincts in Detroit as well as one-third of the precincts in Wayne County. The elections director for the city of Detroit, Daniel Baxter, says that the issue could have a problematic impact on a recount. “It’s not good,” he told the Detroit News. “It’s a challenge, but we’re confident the ballots will match. I don’t think it’s going to be 100 percent, but it never is with a recount.” He claims that many of the voting machines were over 10-years-old.

In Detroit, where African-Americans make up 82 percent of the population, the number of ballots in the precinct poll books didn’t align with the voting machine reports in 59 percent of the city’s precincts.

Since Clinton received the lion’s share of support from Black voters–88 percent compared to Trump’s 8 percent–questions arise about how he won the state.

So could it be that the Trump campaign KNOWS that there is some hinky shit happening with those voting machines in Michigan, and perhaps even took advantage of that, and are now seriously concerned  that too much scrutiny will bring that to the attention of the public?

Well that would explain all of those expensive lawyers.

And sadly now thanks to a federal judge we will never know if the Michigan votes were accurately tallied or not.

But I know what I think.

Michigan signs bill to allow driverless cars on their public roadways.

Courtesy of Computerland:

The governor of Michigan today signed into law a series of bills that allows fully autonomous vehicles, including those without drivers and steering wheels, to begin using public roadways.

Flanked by a Ford Model T and a self-driving Ford Fusion, Gov. Rick Snyder signed four bills as part of the autonomous vehicles legislative package that allows the operation of autonomous vehicles on Michigan public roads. Before, only testing of the vehicles by manufacturers was permitted.

"As far as I know, Michigan is the first state to make it official that these types of vehicles can be used on public roads," said Brandon Schoettle, a project manager with the University of Michigan's Transportation Research Institute.

"California is also planning to enact similar legislation soon. Obviously, the general act of vehicles driving around like this on any public roads is somewhat unprecedented anywhere, given the very recent introduction of such technology," Schoettle said.

Here it comes folks, that future thing that everybody is always talking about.

My daughter and I have been arguing about autonomous cars for a while now.

She is against them, likes to drive herself, and I am all for them.

I'm getting older and I like the idea that technology will allow me to be independent and able to get around on my own even after my reflexes are shot and my eyesight dims.

Hell I already have a machine that cleans my clothes, a robot that vacuums my house, and several technological devices that allow me to converse with people from all over the world from the comfort of my office in Alaska.

So why wouldn't I be willing to trust a machine to get me around town on its own?

Recount update.

Problems in Michigan:

The final result of the US presidential election is still unclear almost a month after polling day – and the recount in Michigan has now been thrown into chaos because of broken voting machines.

As officials began a full recount in the swing state, it emerged that faulty machines mean half of all votes cast in the city of Detroit may be ineligible for recount. A third of voting precincts in Wayne County, that largest of Michigan's counties, could also be disqualified.

The problems were discovered after voting clerks were unable to match the number of votes cast on the machines with the number of people who had been registered at polling stations.

Officials said at least 87 of Detroit’s decade-old voting machines had failed on Election Day, with many jamming when ballot papers were fed in. In 392 of the city’s 662 voting precincts, the number of votes recorded on machines was not the same as the number of voters registerered by polling station staff.

And yet they keep on using this machines.

I tell you, something is going on with this election, and it is not all due to faulty machines.

Lawsuit files in Florida:

Three central Florida voters are mounting an unlikely bid to overturn the presidential election result in the Sunshine State.

In a lawsuit filed Monday in Leon Circuit Court, they assert that Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump, actually won Florida. The plaintiffs, who live in Osceola and Volusia counties, say the state’s official election results were off because of hacking, malfunctioning voting machines and other problems.

They're asking for a hand recount of every paper ballot in Florida, at the expense of defendants including Trump, Gov. Rick Scott and the 29 Republican presidential electors from Florida.

The Group "Protect Our Elections" is claiming that there are over a hundred thousand uncounted votes in Florida:

Protect Our Elections, a liberal-leaning group based in Washington, D.C., says more than 160,000 votes in Florida weren't counted during last month's presidential election. The group claims each of those votes matters a great deal because Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton by 112,911 votes in the Sunshine State. Trump won by roughly 1.5 percent, a margin high enough to avoid the state's automatic-recount provisions.

Well isn't that interesting?

Wisconsin is about halfway through its recount process with no huge changes in the vote tally thus far.

The lawsuit that Jill Stein filed in Pennsylvania calls the election system there a national disgrace:

Court documents seeking a recount in Pennsylvania's presidential election paint an unflattering picture of the state's voting system, calling it a "national disgrace" that uses "vulnerable, hackable, antiquated technology," but offer no specific evidence the results of the Nov. 8 election were hacked.

And that is where we are right now.

We might soon be able to add Florida to the states that will undergo a recount.

Courtesy of the Palmer Report:

Yesterday a federally registered nonprofit election entity launched a fundraiser to cover the court costs of a lawsuit it intended to file in the name of forcing a statewide recount in the narrowly decided state of Florida. The attorney fees were fully crowdfunded within a matter of hours. And today the attorney in question announced that he has officially filed the lawsuit in question, creating at least some possibility that a Florida recount may happen.

Florida state law prohibits any candidate from requesting a recount, meaning that third party candidate Jill Stein cannot force a recount in the state even if she pays for the costs, as she’s doing in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. But this lawsuit is aimed at getting a judge to order a Florida recount, whether republican state officials want to do it or not.

Clint Curtis, the Florida attorney who has been hired to lead the legal charge in court, announced today via his official Facebook page that the election complaint is now indeed underway in the legal arena.

Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and now Florida.

You know if even one of these flips to Hillary there will be a cacophony of calls for ALL of the seeing states, if not all of the states, to go back and do recounts.

I have had my doubts, but this really could turn into a big deal.

Hard to imagine that it would be a big enough deal to change the outcome of this election, but it could cause our voting system to restructure itself so that ALL states will have paper ballots easily verifiable with a hand recount.

Just a reminder that Hillary Clinton's popular vote count now exceeds Trump's by over 2.5 million.

Courtesy of Time:

Hillary Clinton’s lead in total votes over President-elect Donald Trump has reached 2,526,184 as ballots continue to be tallied.

As Clinton’s popular lead surpasses 2.5 million votes, it grows larger than the lead with which 10 presidents have won the general election, the New York Times reports. That means Clinton is up by 1.9 percentage points overall in the popular vote — approaching the lead that polls predicted in the final days before the election, the Times notes.

The disparity between the general election results and Trump’s electoral college lead of 306 over Clinton’s 232 shows how the electoral college system currently disadvantages Democratic voters because of their concentration in certain cities and regions.

Actually these numbers are already outdated.

According to the Cook Report Clinton now leads Trump by 2,564,276.

And that lead is only going to grow.

In fact in response to those proposed recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania Trump's lead in those targeted states is already diminishing.

You may remember that in Wisconsin the state already threw out over 1,000 Trump ballots even before the recount began.

Well as it turns out the same thing is happening in Pennsylvania:

According to this USA Today article and several other sources, the vote totals in Pennsylvania had Donald Trump winning by 70,638 votes – a number which was often quoted as a reason for why Hillary Clinton would supposedly have no chance of flipping the state in a recount. But earlier today, the respected Decision Desk HQ posted the newly revised totals from Pennsylvania, which have Donald Trump ahead by just 46,938 votes. That means Trump’s lead in the state has now shrunk by 23,700 votes, based on what it says are newly revised numbers out of Philadelphia.

It now appears that the Trump campaign is so worried abotu what they might find in Michigan that they filed a legal petition to stop Jill Stein from demanding a recount there:

The Trump campaign filed a legal petition Thursday to stop Michigan's presidential recount, saying Jill Stein has no chance of winning and no grievance, and there's no way that a hand count can be done before the Electoral College meets on December 19.

"Despite being a blip on the electoral radar, [Green Party nominee] Stein has now commandeered Michigan's electoral process," said Trump's petition to Michigan's Board of State Canvasser. "Indeed, on the basis of nothing more than speculation, Stein asks that Michigan residents endure an expensive, time-consuming recount, and the scrutiny and hardship that comes with it."

Gee, why so defensive?

Russian hackers, FBI interference, and non-stop partisan attacks, and still Trump loses the popular vote by a huge margin.

No victory lap for you Tangerine Fuhrer.

Wisconsin rejects request for hand count, Jill Stein to sue.

Courtesy of the Journal Sentinel:

The Wisconsin Elections Commission set a timetable Monday for a recount of the presidential election but rejected a request to require a count by hand made by Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who quickly responded that she would sue.

Also Monday, Stein filed a lawsuit in Pennsylvania to force a recount there and her supporters began filing recount requests at the precinct level there. Stein — who received just a tiny piece of the vote —also plans to ask for a recount in Michigan on Wednesday.

Unless Stein wins her lawsuit in Dane County Circuit Court, officials in each of Wisconsin’s 72 counties would decide on their own whether to do their recounts by hand. That could mean some counties perform recounts by machine and some by hand.

The Elections Committee Chairman, who happens to be a Democrat, stated that he did not think the recount would change the outcome of the election.

Of course the problem with rejecting a hand count, and allowing some counties to use machines, is that a large portion of Americans will remain unconvinced in the outcome of the Wisconsin election.

Besides considering the fact that Donald Trump himself recently claimed that he only lost the popular vote due to millions and millions of illegal ballots, and claims there may be voter fraud in California, New Hampshire, and Virginia, I don't see how we can trust the results coming out of ANY state until she conduct a hand count of each and every vote cast in this election.

I mean if even the guy who won the election is convinced that there was cheating going on, I do not see how we can move forward with this process until we can get to the truth.

And I am sure that if any reporter can get close enough to Donald Trump to ask him about this, that he would agree.

Right?

Donald Trump has just put to rest any question as to whether he is mentally fit to be president. (He is not.) Update!

Now just roll that around in your head for a bit.

Currently Hillary is ahead in the popular vote by over 2.2 million.

Is Trump REALLY suggesting that ALL of those votes were cast illegally?

(Yes he is and here is where he got that idea.)

But hey, its gets even better.

So you see Donald Trump was not really trying to win the popular vote, but if he HAD been trying to win the popular vote then buy God he WOULD have won the popular vote, which actually he DID win if not for all of those totally illegal votes.

Which begs the question, just exactly what COULD he have done to win that popular vote, which he totally already won?

Rigged the election even harder perhaps?

I'm sorry but this is not a well man.

He is clearly worried about something, and it is causing him to crack even before he takes he oath of office.

So now here's a question. You know just for shits and giggles.

Sarah Palin stumping for Trump in Michigan appears on Fox News to remind people why she cannot get a news show of her own. Update!

"Polls are only for strippers and cross country skiers."

And that may be one of the more intelligent things that fell out of Palin's maw during this interview.

I swore off Palin transcripts, but in a nutshell the bewigged one used her patented high pitched shriek to terrorize the local cat population and to get Trump's message out to only creatures who can pick up her frequency, bats and dolphins.

Fortunately I speak dolphin so I can report that Palin is also firmly in the anti-reality bubble that Trump and his surrogates occupy these days.

Palin more or less explains why she is so slow to read the writing on the wall by explaining to O'Reilly that she was convinced that she and McCain would win in 2008 as well. And just like 2008 Palin is dismissing the polls as being inaccurate and saying that she does not "put a whole lot of faith in polls."

Remember how well THAT worked out for her in 2008?

At one point O'Reilly actually asks Palin if she thinks that Hillary is corrupt, and she says "Yes, I think she is."

And that is why I cannot keep an irony meter working for more than a few days around here.

People have commented that Palin appears to have put on weight. Maybe but she still comes off just as stoned to the gills and incoherent as always.

If you did not get enough Palin in this video there is also this one of Palin talking to a tiny group of Trump supporters from the back of a pick up truck.

Classy.

(Anybody recognize that coat?)

There is also a local news report about this here,  here, and here.

Man if Palin is in Wasilla on Wednesday morning I certainly hope that her family hides all of the canned goods, because if not it is going to be hailing creamed corn and baked beans all over in that house.

Update: Apparently Palin was not entirely welcome in Michigan as her presence started a bar fight:

Shortly after Palin’s arrival at the Detroit bar, two men began to yell obscenities and anti-Trump rhetoric before they were removed by the owner. According to an eyewitness, a woman threw beer on the bar owner while he was walking the men out of the bar.

“I saw two guys being dispersed while Palin was talking (to the crowd), and they were being put out by what I understand to be the bar’s owner,” the eyewitness said. “And then this woman who was sitting at the bar, who was drinking a beer, splashed it on the owner as he was escorting the men out. This caused him to react in a violent way — he threw them all out.”

Once outside, the two men continued to cause a disturbance, knocking on the windows and yelling Palin’s name, prompting her to respond directly.

“I wish you had the guts to come in here and say that to my face,” she said to the protesters through an open window.

The direct engagement between Palin and the protesters led several patrons to leave the establishment and confront the protesters. One man at the event, according to the eyewitness, used pepper spray.

So once the men were safely removed from the bar Palin started to yell at them from a window in order to incite more violence?

Gee, no wonder she supports a man like Donald Trump.

For those wondering if, when, and where Sarah Palin will ever go out and stump for Donald Trump, the answer is yes, on Sunday, and in Michigan.

Courtesy of the Detroit News:

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is scheduled to be in Michigan on Sunday campaigning on behalf of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The Trump campaign released a list late Thursday night of surrogates it is sending to battleground states over the weekend as part of a final push before Tuesday’s election.

Palin, the GOP’s 2008 vice presidential candidate turned political commentator, was listed as being in Michigan, but there were no specifics on when and where she will be in the state for Trump.

Trump campaigned Monday in the state, holding two large rallies in Grand Rapids and Warren.

Okay so we now know that Palin will be in Michigan on behalf of Donald Trump, so the only question for the campaign is where will she do the least amount of harm?

According to the latest Fox News poll Hillary is leading Trump by three points in Michigan, but I have every confidence that Palin can bump her up by at least two points with only one or two appearances.

One of the things that helps me to keep my sanity during this emotional roller coaster of a campaign season is the thought of how devastating a Trump loss will be to Sarah Palin, and how it will leave her brand even more damaged than when she jumped on the Trump train back in January.

I might even do a little gloating.

Former NFL running back accidentally shoots himself in the stomach, fatally.

Courtesy of The Detroit News:

Former Central Michigan University and Indianapolis Colts running back Zurlon Tipton Jr. died Tuesday after he accidentally shot himself in the stomach at a car dealership while reaching into a bag that held two firearms, officials said.

Tipton’s death was confirmed Tuesday afternoon by the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

“The department has been notified by staff at St John (Hospital on Moross) that the individual that suffered the gunshot wound has passed away due to his injuries,” Roseville Police Deputy Chief Donald Glandon wrote in a statement Tuesday. “Condolences to the family.”

The shooting occurred as the 26-year-old Detroit native placed personal belongings into a bag containing the firearms, police said. It remained unclear Tuesday who owned the weapons or why Tipton was carrying them.

I think it says something really terrible about our society when we hear about an accidental shooting and breathe a sigh of relief when we learn it was an adult this time and not a child.

Or is that just me?

Okay kids it's another primary day. But then right now isn't every day a primary day? Update!

So what's on the menu for today?

Let's see on the Democrat side we have Michigan with 130 delegates and Mississippi with 36.

According to Fivethirtyeight Hillary has a 99% chance of wining Michigan and since Mississippi has a large African American community she will undoubtedly win there as well.

As for Donald Trump and the rest of the Republican clown car, they have Michigan (59 delegates) which 538 predicts will go for Trump, Mississippi (40 delegates) where Trump also leads, Hawaii (19 delegates) where I have no idea which way the balmy wind is blowing, and Idaho (32 delegates) where Trump is currently in the lead.

So essentially is appears that there will be no surprises tonight.

But then again that's what everybody says until they get surprised.

Update: MSNBC is calling Mississippi for Hillary, and categorizing it as a HUGE win.

Update 2: Trump is now the projected winner in Mississippi. No surprises so far.

Update 3: Trump projected to win Michigan on the Republican side, and it is still too close to call for the Democrats.

Update 4: Okay so finally they called Michigan for Sanders, but only by the slimmest of margins. It looks like all of the pollsters were wrong about this one.

Update 5: Cruz wins Idaho.

3 year old shoots mother in the back of the head. Hey, he's just exercising his 2nd Amendment rights.

Courtesy of MLive:

A 26-year-old woman is expected to recover after her 3-year-old child accidentally discharged a gun, striking her in the head.

Police and rescuers were called to the home about 2:40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.

Few details were immediately available, but ambulance workers reported the woman was shot in the back of the head. She was conscious and talking with rescuers.

She was transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth hospital.

I am sure that this young woman believed that a gun in the house made her family safer.

However the purpose of guns are to take lives, not protect life.

Another shooting spree in Kalamazoo, Michigan. You know, because guns keep us so safe.

Courtesy of NBC News:

The shooting spree began at around 6 p.m., when a woman at a Kalamazoo County apartment complex was shot several times, Kalamazoo Country Prosecutor Jeff Getting said. She was in serious condition but expected to survive, he said.

Police were then called to a car dealership about 10 p.m. where two men, one of them an 18-year-old, were fatally shot, Getting said.

About 10 minutes later, a third shooting took place in the parking lot of a nearby Cracker Barrel restaurant where four women were fatally shot, and the 14-year-old girl was seriously injured, Getting said.

In that shooting, the suspect got out of his car and started a brief conversation with people in two other cars, Matyas said. After a few seconds of talking, the gunman "unloaded his weapon into both cars," Matyas said.

Dalton was taken into custody at around 12:40 a.m. after being stopped, police said. Getting said a semi-automatic handgun was seized in the arrest.

Investigators are saying that the shooting spree was premeditated, but that the victims were random.

The guy just wanted to go kill some people with a gun, and fortunately he lives in the country that makes that easy for him.

USA! USA! USA!

Of course this will not get much attention, because apparently this guy is not a Muslim with ties to ISIS.

Heckuva job. Jeb Bush praises Michigan governor Rick Snyder, for apparently poisoning children?

"I'd like to strangle me some terrorists. Yup, I sure would."
Courtesy of HuffPo:

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush on Sunday applauded Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder's response to the water contamination crisis in Flint -- even though the situation was caused by Snyder's own administration.

"I admire Rick Snyder for stepping up right now," Bush said on CNN's "State of the Union." "He's going to the challenge. He's fired people and accepted responsibility to fix this."

This comes amid calls for Snyder's resignation for hiring the city manger who created the water disaster in the first place, ignoring the initial reports that there was a problem, and responding only when the media attention left him no choice.

Here is what Jeb! finds so admirable:

"Instead of saying, 'The dog ate my homework, it's someone else's fault,' once it became clear, he's taking the lead now," Bush said. "That's exactly what I think leaders have to do."

Once again HE HAD NO CHOICE but to respond.

Just how many lead paint chips did the Bush boys eat while growing up?

Of course if this whole running for president thing doesn't work out Jeb! has a fall back career choice.

He'd like to strangle some terrorists on the Showtime series "Homeland."

Okay for one thing, there is no strangling in G rated films.

Secondly have you ever seen Jeb Bush's skinny ass arms?

I would be surprised if he could choke out a hamster much less strangle a full grown terrorist.
