So while Michelle Wolf was pissing off conservatives yesterday, in Michigan Donald Trump was driving them into a frenzy.

So yes that is Trump taking FULL credit for the North and South Korea peace deal, while his people chant "Nobel" at him.

I think it's pretty clear why he would rather be there, than to sit and listen to Michelle Wolf rip him  a new one.

After all it is the coward's way.

I of course did not watch hardly ANY of this rally (I was still bummed about the furnace.), but I did do some catching up online.

For instance Trump also said that if the Republicans failed to hold on to the House that he was probably going to be impeached.
Which proves that once in a while, Donald Trump CAN tell the truth.

But just when you might have been willing to give him a little credit for that, he turns around and suggests that the Russian lawyer only said she was working with the Kremlin to  "make life in the United States more chaotic."
That of course is completely illogical, but his crowd ate it right up.

In fact Trump got them so worked up that at least one of them verbally attacked the press.
Gee, forced to miss the WHCD and now covered in Trump supporter spittle, it really sucks to have to report on a Trump rally.

Neo-Nazis hold rally in Georgia. Police show up....and start arresting peaceful counter protesters. Wait, what?

Courtesy of Raw Story:

A Neo-Nazi rally happened in tiny Newnan, Georgia today.

According to some reports, as few as 35 Nazis showed up to hear their leader mock men wearing skinny jeans. To protect them, the state had to send 400 heavily armed law enforcement officers in full riot gear.

But that doesn’t mean things were smoothly. The cops were very aggressive with counter-protestors, according to reports from the scene and videos which show use-of-force arrests because of bandanas.

Huffington Posts’s Christopher Mathias was shocked by the brutality of the cops.

“I just witness the most over-aggressive policing I’ve ever seen in #Newnan,” he wrote on twitter. “Tackling protesters and arresting them… for wearing masks.”

The issue was that anti-Nazi activists covered their faces with bandanas—which the cops responded to with violent confrontations and arrests.

Boy leave it to Georgia to avoid upsetting the actual Nazis, and instead focus their hostility on the folks protesting the Nazis.

I think this is the result of the anti-Antifa mentality (Anifa protesters often cover their faces) that has been promoted by Fox News and Right Wing radio.

So now the police in the South see bandana wearing protesters as the enemy, instead of the swastika wearing fascists.

Seriously, where ARE we right now?

Donald Trump does not need your stinking White House Correspondent's Dinner, he will be holding a poorly attended Right Wing rally instead. So there!

Aw, the ignorant, the racist, the frighteningly pale, or as I call them, my base.
Courtesy of Raw Story:

US President Donald Trump will lead a political rally during this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, his campaign team has announced, opting to hold the event in the small town of Washington, Michigan.

It is the second consecutive year Trump will be snubbing the annual dinner, amid his sustained attacks on much of the news media, and also the second time he has chosen instead to rally in a key battleground state he won in his 2016 election after speaking last year in Pennsylvania.

His campaign chief operating officer Michael Glassner made it clear that choosing Washington, a town of some 25,000 people on the outskirts of auto manufacturing hub Detroit, was no coincidence.

“While the fake news media will be celebrating themselves with the denizens of Washington society in the swamp that evening, President Trump will be in a completely different Washington, celebrating our national economic revival with patriotic Americans,” he said in a statement released to the media.

Aww, does little Donnie not want to get his fee fees hurt by a girl in front of millions of Americans?

It should be noted that presidents have been attending this thing since way back in the 1940's even though they knew they would be the butt of many of the jokes.

Ronald Reagan only missed one because he had been shot the month before.

But Trump is such a fucking baby that he cannot stand to have anybody make fun of him, as we saw for ourselves during the 2011 WHCD.

I think this year Trump is especially worried about being made fun of by a girl.

Which is truly pathetic especially after Michelle Wolf double dog dared him to show up.
Only a true pantywaist would turn tail and run from that.

Five people indicted for crimes they committed during the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville. One indictment is for first degree murder.

James Alex Fields, charged with murdering Heather Heyer.
Courtesy of the Daily Progress:

A grand jury has indicted five men on charges stemming from the failed Aug. 12 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville.

On Monday evening, the grand jury indicted James Alex Fields Jr. on all 10 charges he faces in the car attack that killed Heather Heyer, including first-degree murder.

Fields faces a penalty of 20 years to life in prison on the murder charge. In a preliminary hearing Thursday, prosecutors upgraded his second-degree murder charge to first-degree.

General District Judge Robert H. Downer Jr., also certified charges against Alex Ramos, Jacob Goodwin and Richard Preston on Monday. Another judge had already certified a charge against Daniel Borden.

Borden, Ramos and Goodwin were all indicted by a grand jury on charges stemming from the Market Street Garage beating of DeAndre Harris, of Suffolk.

Preston was indicted on a charge of firing a weapon near a school.

You may remember that this is the rally of which Donald Trump claimed that there were "good people" on both sides.

Well it appears that these "good people" may be headed to prison.

You know it continues to irritate me that the conservatives were essentially calling for a lynch mob to go after the undocumented immigrant who accidentally killed Kate Stenle with a gun, but seem completely undisturbed by a guy who killed Heather Heyer after purposefully driving his car into a crowd of people.

Vastly outnumbered by protesters, white nationalists cancel second rally.

Courtesy of CNN:

White nationalists groups that rallied Saturday in Shelbyville, Tennessee, were met by a large police presence and dozens of shouting counterprotesters. Hours later, a second rally planned in nearby Murfreesboro was canceled.

The demonstrations, which organizers called the "White Lives Matter" rally, were planned by The League of the South, a Southern nationalist group, according to Brad Griffin, the organization's public relations chief. Other extreme-right and neo-Nazi groups joined them in the protests wearing black and bearing helmets and shields.

The groups had planned to start at Shelbyville and then head to Murfreesboro about 20 miles to the north, but the Murfreesboro rally was canceled, Griffin said.

About 800 to 1,000 counterprotesters had gathered in Murfreesboro to oppose the demonstrations, Rutherford County Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh and Murfreesboro Interim Police Chief Michael Bowen said in a joint statement.

Griffin announced the rally was canceled on Twitter saying that Murfreesboro was a "lawsuit trap" and that holding an event there was not worth the risk.

Just goes to show that showing up to protest DOES work.

These were expected to be the largest white nationalist rallies since Charlootesville, and they were shut down by people who are sick and tired of seeing racists taking over their streets.

That is definitely one for the good guys.

People have every right to exercise their freedom of speech, even racist POS, however they should expect to be met by others who are also exercising their rights to freedom of speech.

And if they cannot take that kind of heat, they need to stay the fuck home.

Pro-Trump Mother of All Rallies humiliated by a gathering of clown faced Juggalos.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

America is a country of weirdos! Celebrate it!” shouted one of Saturday’s marchers in the gathering of so-called “Juggalos” — fans of rap band Insane Clown Posse — before sweeping up reporter Daniel Dale in a hug.

The group marched in Washington, D.C. Saturday to protest the FBI’s decision to label their fan community a gang that warrants federal law enforcement officers’ attention.

Months after the Juggalos announced that today would be the day of their protest, supporters of President Donald Trump said that they, too, would be holding a rally in Washington, the “Mother of All Rallies” on the National Mall.

Sadly for the Trump supporters all of the video, photos, and tweets from the day show the Juggalos outnumbering the Trump folks by quite a margin.

That might no have been so bad if the organizers had not set the bar so ridiculously high.
The most forgiving estimate I have seen is around a 150 participants.

But that is still incredibly pathetic.
That's not to say that the folks who showed up to support Trump did not have a message to unite around.
And of course the ammosexuals were well represented.
Just goes to show that even when competing with other clowns, Donald Trump simply cannot compete anymore.

Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher believes the conflicts in Charlottesville were orchestrated by "Hillary and Bernie supporters." Update!

Courtesy of Newsweek:

The violent neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last month was nothing more than “a total hoax” orchestrated by liberals who supported Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, according to a hard-right Republican representative.

“It’s all baloney,” Dana Rohrabacher told the San Francisco Chronicle, speaking of the rally where police said a car driven by a white supremacist injured 19 and killed counterprotester Heather Heyer.

“It was left-wingers who were manipulating them in order to have this confrontation,” Rohrabacher said Thursday, in an effort to “put our president on the spot.”

Yet that’s all bunk according to Rohrabacher, who pinned the events on a former “Hillary and Bernie supporter” who got Civil War re-enactors together to protect the statue of Lee, which would be removed under a proposal before Charlottesville’s City Council.

“It was a setup for these dumb Civil War re-enactors,” Rohrabacher said of the Charlottesville rally.

All this, he claims, was a ruse to box in President Donald Trump over the issue of racism in America. On the day of the rally and at a press conference at Trump Tower a couple of days later, the president said blame for the violence fell “on both sides.” His response hurt his approval ratings among Republicans who saw his statements as divisive.

Well SOMEBODY has obviously been getting their news from Info Wars again.

Rohrabacher's major claim to fame is that he is an ardent climate cahnge denier, but clearly his ignorance is not contained to only rejecting science.

He also rejects news coverage, undeniable facts, and apparently ANYTHING which undermines his world view.

Of course the problem is not just with his own stupidity but the fact that he represents a number of equally ignorant people who will continue to make excuses for racists because deep down they agree with them completely.

Though in Rohrabacher's case I am not at all sure it is all that deep down.

Update: I see people referencing the fact that Rohrabacher has been a Russian agent for years, and I would agree with that statement.

And that is further evidenced by his new push to get the White House to pardon Wikileaks.

This guy went through a great deal of trouble to prove that Donald Trump lied his ass off about the size of the crowd at his Phoenix rally. It really deserves your attention.

(Hint: The music is really obnoxious, especially this early in the morning, but if you mute it you can still enjoy the video.)

I think at this point we are all more or less numb to the fact that Donald Trump lies like a three yer old who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, but still it is good to remind ourselves just how far Trump is willing to go to trick the media and the American people.

(H/T to Democratic Underground.)

White Nationalists in Kentucky plan super secret protest against the removal of Confederate statues.

Courtesy of the Lexington Herald-Leader:

White nationalist groups might hold a flash demonstration in Lexington to protest moving two Confederate statues from the lawn of the former Fayette County courthouse instead of a publicly announced rally, according to an organizer.

Matthew Heimbach, chairman of a white nationalist group called the Traditionalist Worker Party, told the Herald-Leader last week that his group and others were planning a rally in Lexington to oppose the removal of statues in downtown Lexington. When asked this week whether he had picked a date for the event, though, Heimbach said it probably will be a “flash demo.”

He confirmed that that meant an event with no public announcement of the time or place.

“As long as we don’t block the street, we should be OK,” Heimbach said.

Heimbach's fear apparently is that if they publicize the protest that counter protesters will show up and say mean things about them until they get their little traitorous feelings hurt.

You may also remember that 37 pro-Trump rallies were called off over fear of conflicts.

Much like the confederate soldiers that they seem to emulate these men are clearly ready to wave the white flag before there is a chance of any real conflict.

I am not sure that these people in Kentucky clearly understand the purpose of a protest.

The whole idea is to draw attention, including media attention, to your cause.

I don't think that a super secret, over in a flash, rally has any real chance of accomplishing that.

You know these racists actually could just all stay home and then claim online that they HAD a rally, thousands showed up, and nobody got hurt.

Just a thought.

Remember how I said that Donald Trump was a crazy person? Here watch this and see if you disagree with that statement.

There are no news reports of gangs of illegal immigrants rounding up young girls and chopping them up with knives, just in case you were wondering.

Trump just made this up and the crowds at his rallies respond as if his words were pearls of wisdom from on high, instead of racist bullshit designed to feed into their fears.

This shit is dangerous, and it is getting more dangerous by the day.

So we're the violent ones?

When you spend decades fanning the flames of hate against a single individual it is not likely to burn out any time soon.

These people will never stop hating Hillary, NEVER.

Trump campaign promotes "Pittsburgh Not Paris" rally in DC, while Trump goes golfing.

Courtesy of ABC News:

Supporters of President Donald Trump gathered outside of the White House on Saturday morning to thank him for upholding his campaign pledge to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement.

About 200 people attended the "Pittsburgh Not Paris" event, which took its name from an assertion Trump made that he was elected to "represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris."

The rally was hosted by the Fairfax County Republican Committee and the Republican Party of Virginia. Demonstrators gathered for two hours near the statue of General Jackson in Lafayette Square, just outside the White House.

Demonstrators chanted "Pittsburgh not Paris" and "jobs, jobs, jobs" to show their support for the president.

In a Facebook post about Saturday's event, organizers said the rally was designed "to show our support for President Trump's withdrawal from the crippling Paris Accord and demonstrate that we the people support his brave stand against globalist coercion."

Somewhat ironic that the Mayor of Pittsburgh actually issued his own executive order reaffirming his city's compliance with the Paris climate accord.

So just who is this rally supposed to represent?

Despite the fact that the rally was promoted by the Trump/Pence campaign, Trump himself thought it beneath him to attend so he went, where else, golfing.

Courtesy of Business Insider:

According to a pool report, the president's motorcade pulled up at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia on Saturday morning. It's unclear whether the president is playing golf, and the press pool said it would file another report when it gets more information about the president's activities.

I think we can assume Trump is golfing, since I'm not sure why he would leave the White House to go to a golf club if he were not planning to golf, especially with a rally in his honor taking place back in Washington.

But then again, I have had significant difficulty understanding ANYTHING that Trump has done lately.

By the way that lack of support for this rally meant that it was both sad and pathetic.
Though Sarah Palin certainly does not want people to think that.
Just in case you are not certain something is sad and pathetic wait for Sarah Palin to defend it, and then you know for sure.

Anybody else tired of all this winning yet?

More anti-Trump marches organized for this Saturday.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Protesters will gather in Washington, D.C., and 135 other cities on Saturday to call for an independent commission to investigate possible collusion between President Trump's campaign and Russia to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.

The "March for Truth" is the latest in a series of weekend protests opposing the Trump administration that has included the Women's March in January and the Tax March and March for Science in April.

Organizers of the latest demonstration are also demanding that Trump release his personal income tax returns.

The march in Washington will include remarks by several Democratic lawmakers, including Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), who has called in recent weeks to impeach Trump. Jill Wine-Banks, a former Watergate special prosecutor, and Javier Muñoz, a star of the Broadway musical "Hamilton," are also expected to speak at the D.C. rally.

And people said that Donald Trump could never bring people together.

Just look how many people he has inspired to get involved and work together in solidarity to solve a terrible problem that affects the whole country.

The true sign of a real leader.

Donald Trump abruptly cancels campaign rally in Iowa. Gee, I can't imagine why?

Courtesy of The Hill:

President Trump has canceled a campaign rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that was previously scheduled to be held next week.

“Due to an unfortunate change in President Trump’s schedule, we will need to unfortunately postpone the previously schedule rally in Cedar Rapids,” a statement from the Trump campaign read. “President Trump will see you in Iowa very soon.”

Trump’s campaign previously announced the rally last week, which was set to follow Trump’s first trip abroad as president.

"An unfortunate change" in Trump's schedule?

Do they mean like an ramping up of the Russian investigations?

Apparently Trump was also the only member of the G7 Summit NOT to have a press conference.

It's almost as if he were afraid of what the reporters might ask him.

But that can't be it, Trump loves to banter back and forth with the press, doesn't he?

Sunday, April 30, 2017

In case you missed it here, is Hasan Minhaj's performance from last night's White House Correspondents' Dinner.

Certainly did not pull any punches did he?

I also saw some of Trump's pathetic rally last night, which should be described as a public therapy session for the tragically insecure.

The entire bitch fest was overflowing with lies that Trump gleefully shared with the crowd, secure in the knowledge that most of them are functionally illiterate.

Not only did Trump tell the unwashed dipshits that his presidency was the greatest presidency since the dawn of presidencies, but that he had completed a long list of amazing achievements.

Why have we not heard of these achievements? Simple.
Yeah, that's it.

Trump also claimed during his own version of the Nuremburg rallies that the crowd was "the largest every" in that venue and that people were left standing outside.

Unfortunately for Trump, there is a thing called Twitter.

All in all Trump's rally appeared to be a desperate cry for affirmation.

Perhaps the best ticket for entertainment last night would have been one for Samantha Bee's "Not the Correspondents' Dinner," which mocked...you know....pretty much everybody.

Here was my favorite part.  There was almost too much going on yesterday to keep up.

However if you had to miss anything, clearly the best event to skip was Trump's desperate cry for attention.

Donald Trump attempts to distract from the White House Correspondents' dinner, which he is too frightened to attend, by holding another of those celebratory rallies of his.

Courtesy of WaPo:

President Trump on Saturday announced plans to hold a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on April 29, marking his 100th day in office.

The White House did not offer additional details about where the rally would take place or what Trump's focus would be, referring questions to Trump's campaign apparatus.

The campaign listed on its website an event scheduled for that night at 7:30 p.m. in Harrisburg, Pa. The rally will coincide with the annual White House correspondents' dinner, which Trump elected not to attend in a break from tradition.

Yes Donald Trump is avoiding a gathering which traditionally features comedians poking gentle fun at the current president, by holding a rally attended by only his most fervent admirers.

Why doesn't he simply wear a t-shirt saying "I am the most insecure man on the planet" and be done with it?

I would like to point out that even President Bush sat good naturedly while the great Stephen Colbert eviscerated him in front of the entire audience attending the 2006 White House Correspondents' dinner.

And President Obama actually turned the tables on the invited comedians and almost always emerged as the most entertaining speaker of the night.

Of course that was back when we had less thin skinned presidents who actually demonstrated some courage and the ability to poke a little fun at themselves.

Personally I think I will skip both of these events and instead spend my precious TV watching time enjoying Samantha Bee's "Not the White House Correspondents' Dinner" scheduled for the same night.

Wouldn't it be kind of awesome if THIS received the highest ratings of the night?

White Nationalist files counter suit against Donald Trump saying the candidate directed him to assault protesters.

Courtesy of Politico:

A white nationalist leader accused of assaulting a young African-American woman at a Donald Trump campaign rally filed a countersuit on Monday claiming the president directed him and other supporters to remove protesters.

Matthew Heimbach claims in his federal court filing that he “acted pursuant to the directives and requests of Donald J. Trump and Donald J. Trump for President” and that, if he’s found liable for damages, “any liability must be shifted to one or both of them.

”The legal fight stems from a March 2016 rally in Louisville, Kentucky, at which protesters were allegedly roughed up and ejected by Trump supporters after the then-candidate barked from the stage “get ’em out of here!”

I think it is perfectly reasonable to blame Trump for the violence at his rallies.

After all they blamed Hitler for the gas chambers didn't they?

By the way how delicious is it to see Trump getting sued by a white supremacist because he convinced the man to hurt black people?

(Here's some video of the event in question.)

Kentucky judge says Trump accountable for inciting violence. Gee, really?

Courtesy of WaPo:

The courts keep taking Donald Trump both seriously and literally. And the president's word choices are proving to be a real headache.

A federal judge in Kentucky is the latest to take Trump at his word when he says something controversial. Judge David J. Hale ruled against efforts by Trump's attorneys to throw out a lawsuit accusing him of inciting violence against protesters at a March 2016 campaign rally in Louisville.

At the rally, Trump repeatedly said “get 'em out of here” before, according to the protesters, they were shoved and punched by his supporters. Trump's attorneys sought to have the case dismissed on free speech grounds, arguing that he didn't intend for his supporters to use force. But Hale noted that speech inciting violence is not protected by the First Amendment and ruled that there is plenty of evidence that the protesters' injuries were a “direct and proximate result” of Trump's words.

“It is plausible that Trump’s direction to ‘get 'em out of here’ advocated the use of force,” Hale wrote. “It was an order, an instruction, a command.”

Here is a YouTube video of his supporters following Trump's directions and stomping the shit out of protesters.

I bet Trump thought that if he could just get into the White House that all of this would go away.

Joke's on you pussy grabber, that just makes you a bigger target.

How many lawsuits are currently pending against Trump right now? I keep losing track.

Trump's Muslim travel ban banned. Again.

Courtesy of TPM:

Hours before it was to take effect, President Donald Trump's revised travel ban was put on hold Wednesday by a federal judge in Hawaii after hearing arguments that the executive order discriminates on the basis of nationality.

The ruling came as opponents renewed their legal challenges across the country, asking judges in three states to block the executive order that targets people from six predominantly Muslim countries.

More than half a dozen states are trying to stop the ban, and federal courts in Maryland, Washington state and Hawaii heard arguments about whether it should be put into practice early Thursday.

U.S. District Court Judge Derrick Watson decision prevents the executive order from going into effect, at least for now. Hawaii had requested a temporary restraining order.

Hawaii also argued that the ban would prevent residents from receiving visits from relatives in the six countries covered by the order. The state says the ban would harm its tourism industry and the ability to recruit foreign students and workers.

As you might imagine this annoyed Orange Hitler to no end, and so he held another rally where he said this:

“This ruling makes us look weak ― which, by the way, we no longer are, believe me. Just look at our borders,” Trump told a crowd at a campaign-style rally in Tennessee. “We are going to fight this terrible ruling. We’re going to take our case as far as it needs to go, including all the way up to the Supreme Court. We are going to win.”

And this:

“It’s a watered-down version of the first one,” Trump said of his new ban. “And let me tell you something: I think we ought to go back to the first one and go all the way, which is what I wanted to do in the first place.”

That sound you hear is every White House layer slamming their heads into the wall after hearing their client essentially make the case himself that this bill is essentially a watered down version of the first one, which his lawyers had argued it most certainly was not.

And if you remember Rudy Giuliani said this about that first travel ban:

“When [Mr. Trump] first announced it, he said, ‘Muslim ban.’ He called me up. He said, ‘Put a commission together. Show me the right way to do it legally.’”

And those words were actually cited by the judge in Hawaii when he put the brakes on this latest version.

I swear it's like watching the Keystone Kops run the White House.

Trump's campaign style rally in Florida. Melania reads the Lord's Prayer, Trump makes up a terrorist attack in Sweden, and only about half the usual people show up to hear them.

And that is how this bizarre, ego stroking, campaign style event started off.

(Did you notice that Trump found some of those non-white folks to stand behind the stage?)

Personally I when I hear Melania speak I don't think "First Lady," I think "Bond villain."

However that was not he weirdest thing about this rally.

There was also this:
Now to be clear there was NO terrorist attack in Sweden.

Just like there was never a Bowling Green Massacre.

They just make this shit up. (The New York Times identified a number of other lies during the rally as well.)

But this crowd gladly swallowed all of the bullshit whole.

It should also be noted that while 9,000 people DID show up to be directly lied to by Trump, that back in September that number was 15,000.

That is a 40% decline.

However there was nothing smaller about the crowds that showed up to protest Trump. In fact they set a record:

Hundreds of demonstrators — the largest group of progressive protesters in Brevard County in more than a decade — lined Apollo Boulevard before, during and after President Donald Trump’s rally, stretching from the AeroMod International hangar entrance to Airport Boulevard.

A loud chorus of boos erupted when Air Force One descended for landing across the street at Orlando Melbourne International Airport.

“Lock him up! Lock him up!” hundreds of demonstrators chanted in unison shortly before Trump took the stage.

Yeah I know, hundreds of demonstrators are a lot less than the 9,000 who showed up to hear Trump spew his bullshit.

True, but I never claimed that Melbourne, Florida was a bastion for intellectuals.

Besides one has to wonder how many of these folks were paid, or bribed, to show up?

I think the takeaway from this is that Donald Trump loved it when he was RUNNING for the presidency, but fucking hates BEING the president.

I mean just look at his face before the rally.
That does not look like a mentally stable person.
