MTV broadcasts fake commercial about racial disparity during Video Music Awards. Seems to have really hit a nerve with racist white people.

This courtesy of Inverse:

Turns out that the fictional White Squad was produced by MTV’s “Look Different” campaign, which aims to expose very real “hidden” (ha!) biases and tackle racial inequality. Skeptics may find it disingenuous, coming from MTV itself, but the ad does a brilliant job of exposing uncomfortable truths and targeting the audience that’s most likely to respond. Even white kids, who might not be aware of the discrimination their peers face, can look at White Squad and think, perhaps with a moment of clarity, “That’s fucked up.”

On the Look Different website, the creators admit: “The truth is, we’re all a little biased — even MTV.” Challenging those biases, they say, is the first step to creating a more equal future. Maybe White Squad just leveraged its privilege to help out people of color after all.

Personally I thought the video was somewhat humorous, but also unfortunately quite accurate when it comes to how certain ethnicities are treated by the system in America.

You can kind of gauge that accuracy by how pissed off it makes white folks who are, of course, totally NOT racist.

Courtesy of Addicting Info:

As you can see these perfectly normal, every day, totally NOT racist Americans, have a point that there is no racism until MTV (And of course President Obama.) creates some by constantly bringing the topic up for discussion.

Could not be more clear.

As if Wasilla's reputation was not bad enough.

Courtesy of Reality Tea:

MTV: “Slednecks is a weekly half-hour comedic docu-series following a group of ‘outdoor tough’ friends living in the rural town of Wasilla, Alaska. With mountains and rivers as their playground, these close friends make the most of what they have while always having a blast doing it. Polar Bear plunges, airboating on ice, glacier parties, river wakeboarding, and human catapulting are just some of the adventures these ‘Sled-necks’ get into, while also navigating dramatic friendships and relationships in the prime of their lives.”

These idiots reached to a number of people I know but none of them were ignorant enough to work with them.

Personally I'm a little surprised not to see one of the Palins appearing in the teaser.

After all when it comes to Valley Trash there is nobody more representative.

Group that freaked out over Ellen Degeneres representing J.C. Penny, is freaking out again. This time over a picture of two girls "gasp" KISSING!

Courtesy of Styleite:

One Million Moms — the same group that tried to get JCPenny to fire Ellen Degeneres — is pissed about a lesbian kiss in Urban Outfitters‘ April catalog.

The group is urging people to throw away the catalogs, call the company to unsubscribe from its mailing list, and send letters to Urban expressing their disgust because of “a picture of two women kissing in a face holding embrace!”. Why? “The content is offensive and inappropriate for a teen who is the company’s target customer.”

Here's the thing, the kids of today would hardly even bat an eye at a picture of two girls kissing. They see more provocative images than that watching virtually ANYTHING on MTV, playing the hot new video game Skyrim, or even reading an Archie comic book. (WTF you say, Archie comics? Yep, they have recently featured their FIRST gay marriage.)

Let's face it these overwrought parent groups are doing NOTHING to stop the acceptance of the gay lifestyle by today's youth, and the more they bitch and throw hissy fits over it, the faster teenagers will want to demonstrate how cool they are by endorsing it to their friends and their less homophobic family members.

After all you conservative parents, remember how freaked out everybody was in the sixties and seventies over interracial dating? But hell now we have a biracial President sitting in the Oval Office, and that worked out.......ohhh!

I'm not helping am I?

Arrival of resident troll demanding that I finally admit that I am gay, as evidenced by the fact that I wrote a post about gay issues, in 3..2..1

A trip down memory lane to back when MTV was ALL about music.

I am literally posting this for NO other reason than that I was looking for a video and, after seeing this in my favorites, found myself rocking out for four minutes while sitting at my computer.

In my opinion this song has one of the most contagious beats in the history of rock and roll.

Go ahead, just TRY to sit still without at the very least tapping your foot as it plays. I bet you can't do it.

(Oh by the way I am a huge fan of "The Big Chill" as well.)

Witchcraft dabbler Christine O'Donnell's goal is to stop the whole country from having sex? WTF?

This video comes to us courtesy of "Morning Joe" from 2003.

O'Donnell is talking to MTV's Eric Nies about how to educate our children about sex. (Transcript is courtesy of the Huffington Post)

NIES: I tell them to be careful. You have to wear a condom. You have to protect yourself when you're going to have sex, because they're having it anyway...There's nothing that you or me can do about it.

O'DONNELL: The sad reality is -- yes, there is something you can do about it. And the sad reality, to tell them slap on a condom is not --

NIES: You're going to stop the whole country from having sex?

O'DONNELL: Yeah. Yeah!

Seeriously?  Who would vote for this woman?

Bristol Palin goes onto MTV to tell teenage girls not to get pregnant because there is no guarantee you will get famous, and wealthy, and appear on MTV like she did.

Bristol's MTV interview:

Here Bristol refers to baby Tripp as a "consequence". Yet another warm and loving video to help him someday cope with his strange upbringing in the Palin paramilitary compound.

And here Bristol tries to explain the bizarre motto "Pause before you Play".

She does not do very well. Hey maybe if she wrote the notes on her hand!

Gee I wonder who is watching Tripp while Bristol is off confusing young women about sex?  Is he with his nanny? Aunt Heather?  Todd? Maybe Piper is carrying him around the house like a rag doll in preparation for when she follows the successful path of her big sister?

One thing I know for sure is that he is not with Levi.  Nor with Levi's mother or sister.  Because if he was then Bristol could not play the victim, just like dear old mom, and claim to be raising the child all on her own.

Look I tried to give Bristol the benefit of the doubt, but the more time that goes by the more her personality resembles that of her mother.  Sarah Palin made 12 million dollars since she ran away from her responsibilities, how could her daughter not see that as a positive choice to make?

After 27 years MTV decides to start running political ads. Why the change? Because 27 years ago there was no Barack Obama.

The Viacom MTV Networks channel -- once known for round-the-clock music videos and now home to a host of reality shows -- says it will now take political ads, though only from political candidates and party political committees, not from third parties.

Somewhere Barack Obama is having a very good day.

This will help reach that extremely important youth vote that may be more decisive this year then in any other election cycle.

So remember kids, this is your country, MTV plays your music, and Obama is your candidate.

Oh, and this is your favorite political blog (Sorry couldn't resist.)
