Damn I almost choked while laughing at that.
They have one for the August Republican debate as well, but for my money it is not quite as good.

Jim Webb drops out of the Democratic presidential primary. May run as Independent.
| "Hey, you won't have Jim Webb to kick around anymore. Or ignore during debates." |
Jim Webb ended his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination at a press conference Tuesday, telling reporters he will consider an independent bid.
Speaking at the National Press Club in Washington, Webb argued the Democratic Party has moved away from "millions of dedicated, hard-working Americans."
"For this reason, I am withdrawing from any consideration of being the Democratic Party's nominee for the presidency," he said.
"The very nature of our democracy is under siege due to the power structure and the money that finances both political parities," Webb said, adding later that it is "time for a new Declaration of Independence -- not from an outside power but from the paralysis of a federal system that no longer serves the interests of the vast majority of the American people."
Okay so Jim "Can somebody please call on me" Webb is out of the running for President. Since we already know that third party challengers have about as much chance of winning the election as Bristol Palin has of identifying the sperm donor for her current baby bump.
However as underwhelmed as I was by Webb's candidacy, he does make a good point about our broken political system.
And the only way to fix it is to pass aggressive campaign finance reform laws and get a handle on this free for all that has been going on since the Citizen's United decision.
People in other countries are starting to look at America NOT as a shining beacon of democracy, but more like a never ending disaster movie with brief cameos by reality TV stars and rodeo clowns.

Revisiting the best line from the Democratic Debate.
This is the line that is getting all of the buzz today, and well it should.
Many have interpreted that Bernie was too nice to Hillary by essentially dismissing the email "controversy" as a distraction.
However doing so was also great for Bernie because not only does it continue to reinforce his image as a policy driven candidate who does not stoop to smear tactics, but his campaign also managed to raise 1.3 million dollars off of a fundraising email containing that clip.
The guy is no dummy.
However I still think that the overall winner was Hillary.

Unsurprisingly her husband feels the same way.

Democratic Debate Open Thread. Update!
Okay so here we go guys, this is where politics gets serious.
Now I know it will not be anywhere near as entertaining as the GOP debates, but it WILL be more coherent.
I will update this post throughout the debate, and be drunk tweeting it as well. (That part will be somewhat less coherent but probably a little more entertaining.)
Here is a newly released "How to beat Clinton" memo from 2008 that was supposedly co-written by several of Barack Obama's close aides:
As you can see many of the same arguments that were being used back then are resurfacing today.
Update: Bernie Sanders is causing a spike in searches for the word "Socialism."
Update: Best line of the night so far.
Update: For those who missed it.
Really?

Jim Webb announces decision to run for President. Or as he is better known, "Jim Who?"
Courtesy of CNN:
Former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb announced Thursday that "after many months of thought, deliberation and discussion" he has decided to run for president of the United States.
In an over 2,000-word blog post, Webb writes that he decided to run because the United States needs "proven, experienced leadership that can be trusted to move us forward from a new President's first days in office."
Highlighting his experience as a senator, decorated soldier and and secretary of the navy under Ronald Reagan, Webb cast himself as someone willing to fight on issues he cares about, including criminal justice reform, education and economic fairness.
Webb becomes the fifth Democrat to join the primary contest.
Personally I don't think that many Democrats are really going to pay much attention to a Jim Webb candidacy. Not with Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders sucking up all of the oxygen in the room at least.
Besides not only did Webb serve as Secretary of the Navy under Reagan, but he also recently came out in support of the Confederate Battle flag, which puts him at odds with virtually every other Democrat in the country.
I think that Jim Webb could be a valuable asset in a cabinet position, but I doubt he will receive serious consideration for the job of Commander-in-Chief.
However let me just add, Webb is still head and shoulders above any presidential choice on the Republican side of the aisle.

Jim Webb might be angling for the VP spot on the Obama ticket.
I was going to write some funny, tongue in cheek summation of why Webb would be a good choice. But then I found the site linked above and realized I could not do better then that.
Really, do yourself a favor and read the whole post it is hysterical!

Jim Webb just moved to the top of my list of favorite Senators. Actually I did not have a list before, but now I do and he is at the top.
"I'm not convinced we don't need to have a lawsuit ready," Webb told the Huffington Post. "This is a classic separation of powers issue. I started to talk to people about this today."
In recent days the administration has seemingly backed away from attempting to secure extended military-to-military relationship with the Iraqi government to replace a current U.N. Mandate. Webb and others -- most notably Rep. Rosa DeLauro and Sen. Hillary Clinton -- have pushed legislation that would restrict federal money for any such agreement unless it came in the form of a congressional treaty. And while a victory on that front seems within grasp, the possibility still exists, Webb warned, for the administration to ultimately circumvent congressional input.
"They are characterizing this as within the authority of the Executive Branch. They will wait to August when everyone is at the conventions, and leave it on our doorstep," said the Virginia Democrat. "If the Senate hasn't acted by then, they are going to announce an agreement between the Executive Branch and Iraq."
Now this is what we need our Senators to do. This is how the Democrats were able to dominate the last election. We need them to do something, anything, to stop this criminal administration from going forward with their plans.
I certainly hope that Jim Webb follows through with this and attracts the support of ALL of the other Democrats to help call a halt to this kind of thing.
No more blank checks for George Bush!
