Senator Chuck Schumer tears up over Donald Trump's Muslim ban. Trump mocks him for it.

Seems heartfelt to me.

However I actually have a heart.

Trump did not see it that way.
Courtesy of Fox News:

President Trump launched into a fiery defense of his controversial refugee and immigration restrictions Monday, blaming protesters and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer’s ‘fake tears’ for difficulties at U.S. airports, and urging his opponents to “study the world!”

Yeah that's right. THEY'RE the ones who need to study more.

Trump also took to Twitter, of course, to mock Senator Schumer.
So Chuck Schumer's tears caused "big problems" for Delta Airlines?

Those are some powerful tears.

But what can you expect from Donald Trump?

Malignant Narcissists simply do not have empathy.

Which means that there is no way that any other person's suffering is going to mean anything to Trump.

So we have gone from a President who seemed to feel everything, to a president who feels nothing.

Yet another reason to hate Mondays.

And if anybody thinks there will be any "gotcha" questions, or that Palin might be asked something about the father of her daughter's new baby or her son's domestic assault charge, I will have to assume that you have never seen this lightweight piece of fluff that cares more about the newest diet fad than it does any real news.

Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin back in court on Monday. Hopefully for the final time.

Courtesy of the Frontiersman:

Bristol Palin and former fiancĂ© Levi Johnston have a court date together for the first time in more than a year.

Court documents detailing a years-long custody battle between the former couple show a hearing listed on the Palmer court calendar for Monday at 11 a.m.

“The parties have reached a final custody and visitation agreement for residing in the same community and have executed, personally and through their attorneys, a confidential stipulation regarding custody,” a notice to the court filed Nov. 16 reads. “Therefore, the only pending issue to be addressed by the Court is the matter of past and future child support.”

The Frontiersman goes on to lay out the various legal wranglings that have gone on for almost seven years now. I think most of us here are well aware of them so I will not bother to go over them again here.

However I will say that this is one of the longest, most drawn out custody cases that I have ever known.

My own case took about two years, and that seemed like an eternity, but THIS one seems to be never ending.

Hopefully after Monday this whole thing will be over for the Johnstons and they can move with their lives, while Bristol pops out another little one and focuses on making somebody else's life miserable.

Ted Cruz to announce his candidacy for the GOP nomination on Monday. Comedy writers start salivating today.

Courtesy of NBC News:

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will announce his presidential bid on Monday during an address at Liberty University in Virginia, NBC News confirms.

Cruz, a conservative Republican famed for his staunch opposition to the president's signature health care law and his executive actions on immigration, will become the first GOP hopeful to formally announce a White House run.

A person with knowledge of the announcement tells NBC that the senator will announce the bid during a convocation ceremony at Liberty, a Christian university in Lynchburg, Virginia.

It looks like the GOP clown car just got it's head clown.

In preparation for this announcement Cruz has threatened to strip same sex couples of marriage rights, frightened small children, and of course demonstrated complete ignorance about Climate Change.

Sadly that might in fact endear him to the conservative knuckledraggers who vote in some of the primaries, but it will get him laughed off the stage as the field starts to narrow.

As I have said before I simply do not understand the attraction the Right Wing has for this guy.

They keep touting his intelligence but I personally have seen NOTHING that convinces me that he is smarter than a Rick Perry, or even a Sarah Palin. That's right, a Sarah Palin!

Oh well, I guess rather than trying to figure it out I will simply sit back with my popcorn and enjoy the train wreck.

Conservative think tank decides to demonstrate their disdain for unions by working on Labor Day. Oh yeah, that'll teach'em.

Courtesy of The Seattle Times:

Just when it seemed the right wing couldn’t get any more divorced from reality around here, a local conservative group has launched a protest against what it sees as a pernicious cultural touchstone.

Labor Day.

Yes, bittersweet old Labor Day — the first Monday in September, the holiday that’s been around for generations and is known to most non-ideologically blinkered Americans as an end-of-summer free day honoring all the hard work you put in the rest of the year.

But to the Freedom Foundation, a business-backed Olympia think tank, the day is evidence of the power of unions, which to them equals the decline of America. Rather than stoop to taking a union-backed day off, they plan to fight the power by ... working all day Monday instead!

“I can’t think of a problem in society that can’t be traced in some way back to the abuses of organized labor, so it would be hypocritical of us to take a day off on its behalf,” said Freedom Foundation CEO Tom McCabe, in announcing the “work-in.”

That’ll show those unions who control everything around here. Let’s all go into the offices and the factories and work like dogs instead of barbecuing or watching parades! Who’s with me?

Of course, if McCabe followed this principle to its logical end, he’d have to work every Saturday, too. Year round.

But why end with working Saturdays?

The unions are also responsible for out ability to be paid overtime, have lunch breaks, receive paid vacations, the 40 hour work week, safety standards, child labor laws, etc, etc., etc..

Clearly these idiots know NOTHING about American history.

Current FBI informant, and one time Joe Miller bodyguard, Bill Fulton breaks his silence.

Drop Zone employee, Sally Heath (Sarah Palin's mom), and Bill Fulton
In September of 2010 Bill Fulton was perhaps the single most misunderstood man in Alaska.

Vilified as a "Jack booted thug" after he handcuffed Alaska Dispatch reporter Tony Hopfinger, and  forced to watch news report after news report flay him to the bone mercilessly, Fulton wanted nothing more than to call them up and explain that he was one of the good guys. In fact he was AT THAT TIME working for the FBI and helping them to build their case against Schaeffer Cox. (And possibly a few others.)

However Fulton was unable to tell anybody his side of the story, because he was undercover with the Feds, and they kind of frown on that sort of thing.

Then later in 2011 after Schaeffer Cox was arrested, Fulton was directed to disappear, which he did. And again the speculation started about why he disappeared? Was he the Alaska militia's weapons supplier?  Was he himself part of Schaeffer's militia group? Or even whether or not he had been assassinated to keep him quiet.

During this time, now newly relocated out of state, Fulton scanned the internet reading about the investigation and the opinions of various news agencies and blogs, hoping that somebody would put two and two together and realize that HE was the FBI informant and not one of Schaeffer's lackeys.

And one day somebody did:

So Cox traveled to Anchorage to make the purchases with this "person" who they believed could hook them up with grenades, silencers, and automatic weapons? Now isn't that interesting?

Isn't Drop Zone in Anchorage? I do believe that it is.

And isn't the owner of Drop Zone, William Fulton, the guy Joe Miller hired as "security" to rough up a local journalist?

And isn't William Fulton referred to as the "supply sergeant" because he is the go-to guy for militia members seeking weapons and supplies?

And isn't Fulton currently MIA?

This may seem a like an obvious conclusion, but until this post NOBODY had been willing to voice it out loud.

So finally Fulton had some hope that people would start to realize that he was NOT a jack booted thug roughing up reporters at Joe Miller's request and selling weapons to militia members determined to overthrow the government. But that instead he was a patriot doing a very difficult, and very dangerous, job.

And now Fulton felt that he had somebody he could each out to. He wasn't exactly supposed to, but something about that arrogant liberal blogger, who always seemed to be keeping people's secrets for them, seemed like a person he could trust. And so he did.

Now I receive a lot of unsolicited e-mails, many of them are not exactly on the up an up.

For instance I have been contacted by George Soros. (Only not really.) Sarah Palin. (Nope.) Todd Palin. (Not hardly!) And various folks claiming to work for newspapers, federal agencies, and one nice gentleman from Nigeria who offered me the chance to make a million dollars. (I really DO need to get back to that guy.)

However I have also been contacted by somebody who knew all about Willow Palin's night of  housebreaking. (They did.) A guy who claimed he worked as Sarah Palin's head of security. (He was.) The BBC asking for an interview. (They got one.) And this guy named Joe McGinniss who wanted to ask me some questions for a book he was writing. (Well you know how that one turned out.)

So when I received an e-mail from some guy claiming to be Bill Fulton, I thought "Could be him." And indeed it was.

Fulton was impressed that I had figured out that he was the informant, but also wanted to correct me on what I got wrong. But only if I promised to keep what he told me to myself.

And I have.

So from there Bill and I began to have a number of e-mail exchanges and phone calls, often late at night, where he could finally get things off his chest that he couldn't share with anybody else and also tell somebody, sort of in the media, what was really going on.

Well not EVERYTHING of course, because Fulton is not allowed to talk about ongoing investigations, but enough for me to begin to understand some very interesting things about the Republican party in Alaska, the behind the scenes stories concerning the Miller campaign, and a certain ex-Governor's involvement in both.

Of course while THAT allowed Bill to get things off HIS chest it also burdened ME with information that I could know but never use on the blog. Lucky me right? (Though there WERE a few times when it was agreed that some of Fulton's information could find its way into a blog post or two.)

During this time Fulton always said that after the trial, and after Schaeffer Cox was sentenced, he would go public. Schaeffer has now been sentenced, and true to his word Fulton has started talking.

First to Salon.

And then to the Huffington Post. (You gotta love that story about paranoid Joe Miller and the bullet proof vest!)

Also part of our agreement was that I would have the opportunity to officially interview Bill on the record, which I have. All or part of that interview is scheduled for a post on Monday.

However Bill felt he owed me a little something extra, so, and this was totally his idea, he has volunteered to answer some of YOUR questions as well.

I will have more information about how that will be structured for you by Monday.  But until then simply think up what you would like to ask a man who was in the room when Sarah Palin's surrogates planned to take over the Republican party, was deeply embedded in Joe Miller's failed campaign in 2010, and who had to listen as members of a lunatic fringe plotted to murder federal agents in rural Alaska.

And they say blogging is boring.

Let's have another ask Uncle Gryphen Monday shall we?

Well these last few weeks have been pretty exciting haven't they?

Since our last "Ask Uncle Gryphen" open forum we have seen the Supreme Court uphold Obamacare, scientists discover the Higgs boson particle, watched Bristol's reality show ratings plummet to earth faster than Sarah Palin's political credibility, and witnessed the return of the "ruffled ear" version of Trig Palin, just to name a few rather explosive events covered by this blog.

So it certainly seems like a good time to allow a little Q and A session.

However before we start I thought I would share with all of you the recent additions to Casa de Gryphen.

Though I tend to work out fairly regularly, the summers have typically been when I ratchet up my exercise regime.  However this summer I have found that changes in my job have made getting to the gym almost impossible. (Plus they recently moved all the way downtown, which has proven to be VERY inconvenient.)

Since working out is part of how I let off steam, and manage my aggression, I have been a little extra asshole-y as of late. (I am sure none of you noticed.)

Finally recognizing that I was simply NOT going to be able to make it to the gym with any reliable frequency I caved in and bought this.

I have had it for a week now and I LOVE it!

Combining it with my free weights,

and the Elliptical already in my office,

is giving me workouts just as good as the ones I experienced at the gym, now relocated all the freaking way across town.  So I cancelled my membership for the first time in twenty five years, and I will be doing all of my exercising here at home. Which has the added benefit of removing ANY excuses for missing a workout.

Already I have noticed an improvement in my temperament, my energy level, and my focus.

Plus as an added feature I am near my computer more often and can deal with breaking stories as they happen. More blogging, more bodybuilding, more better! (Okay so perhaps grammar might be slightly affected with increase in testosterone. Fair trade in my opinion.)

Anyhow go ahead, tell the newly re-energized Gryphen what's on your mind. I am all ears.

Levi Johnston to appear on the Early Show Monday morning.

The father of Sarah Palin's grandson will talk exclusively with"Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez on the program Monday, Oct. 26.

Rodriguez will ask Johnston about Palin's upcoming autobiography, "Going Rogue: An American Life," among other things.

Well personally I am addicted to Levi's story, so I will definitely be watching.

I still believe that Levi has the most damaging information about Sarah, and that when he finally does decide to put pen to paper (or sits down with a good ghostwriter) it will destroy the last vestiges of Palin's credibility.

THAT is why Caribou Barbie is going on the offensive in her book "Going Rogue". Apparently she believes that if she can keep this a contest of "she said, he said" that she will come out ahead.
Personally I think she is fooling herself.

I kind of hope that Levi avoids the whole Playgirl question, though I am puzzled at just how he hopes to keep it classy.
