Former Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon suggests his old boss will win the next election with 400 electoral votes.

Steve Bannon has a message for “the good folks at Vanity Fair”, stating Donald Trump will “not only finish his term” but gain a landslide 400 electoral votes in the 2020 presidential election. 

Speaking at the controversial Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit, Bannon hit back at a report from Vanity Fair that suggested he did not have any faith that his former boss would finish out his first term. 

The former White House chief strategist said on Saturday in comments carried by ABC News: “The populist, nationalist, conservative revolt that’s going on, that drove Donald Trump to victory, that drove Judge Moore to victory, that will drive 15 candidates to victory in 2018, and well, I hate to break the news to Graydon Carter and the good folks at Vanity Fair, but yes, President Trump is not only going to finish this term he’s going to win with 400 electoral votes in 2020.”

That is almost a hundred more electoral votes than Trump "won" in 2016. That number was 306.

In order for Trump to achieve something like that he would have to....well he would have to either run as somebody completely different, or the Russians would have to do a much better job of hacking our election.

Of course this statement came in retaliation to the Vanity Fair article which quoted two sources saying that Bannon had only given Trump a 30% of making it through the first term.

This could simply be a case of Bannon attempting to do a little damage control, or he could in fact be this delusional.

As for that last possibility Bannon also said this during his appearance at the Values Voter Summit.

It should be pointed out that there was long line of Republican politicians who were criticizing President Obama while he was the Commander-in-Chief and we had "kids in the field."

In fact didn't Bannon's former boss suggest that Obama was not a legitimate president?

Now, the flagship magazine of evangelical Christianity is blasting the Republican presidential nominee – and criticizing the Christians who vote for him. 

“Enthusiasm for a candidate like Trump gives our neighbours ample reason to doubt that we believe Jesus is Lord,” Christianity Today editorial director Andy Crouch wrote Monday in an editorial. “They see that some of us are so self-interested, and so self-protective, that we will ally ourselves with someone who violates all that is sacred to us.” 

Christianity Today was founded by evangelist Billy Graham in 1956 and today serves as a major voice of evangelicals, who make up about more than a quarter of the U.S. population. 

The publication does not endorse candidates because it is a nonprofit organization, Crouch wrote in the editorial. But Monday’s editorial, which devoted a paragraph to criticizing Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton (mostly for her use of a private email server), hammered Trump for about 1,000 words.

Well it seems that there are at least SOME Christians who recognize the tenets of their faith.

However this split among the religious right over Donald Trump have some predicting that this could be the end of their influence on politics.

I have to say that if that were to happen I would be walking around on a cloud, and it might even signal the end of the Immoral Minority.

After all when I started this blog it was to give voice to all of those who were not part of the "Moral Majority" and to point out their hypocrisy while also revealing their negative impact on politics in America.

If they suddenly are no longer a serious problem, then IM's inoculation of truth may no longer be necessary either.

Evangelicals still supporting Donald Trump after release of sexual harassment tape.

“Voters of faith are voting on issues like who will protect unborn life, defend religious freedom, create jobs, and oppose the Iran nuclear deal,” Faith and Freedom Coalition president Ralph Reed said in an email to BuzzFeed News. “Ten-year-old tapes of private conversation with a television talk show host rank very low on their hierarchy of concerns.” 

Asked if he had any comment on the tape itself and if he was definitely standing by Trump, Reed said, “I think the statement is self explanatory.” 

Tony Perkins, who leads the Family Research Council, also did not reject Trump in the wake of the revelations, but indicated that he doesn’t share Trump’s values. 

“My personal support for Donald Trump has never been based upon shared values, it is based upon shared concerns about issues such as: justices on the Supreme Court that ignore the constitution, America’s continued vulnerability to Islamic terrorists and the systematic attack on religious liberty that we’ve seen in the last 7 1/2 years,” Perkins said in an email to BuzzFeed News. 

“The comments are obviously disgusting and unfortunate,” Bauer said in an interview with BuzzFeed News. “But Donald Trump did not run as a evangelical or as somebody who ran the kind of campaign that a Pat Robertson would run.” 

“We’ll still support him, still work hard for him,” Bauer said. “His policies are 100% better than Hillary clinton’s for the country.” 

“I don’t see how any values voter that is sensible would take a tape from 11 years ago with totally inappropriate language and says somehow that leads me as a voter to stay home or vote for Hillary Clinton or throw your vote away on a third party candidate,” Bauer said. 

To be clear NONE of what is said above surprises me in the least.

In fact the entire reason this blog exists is to call out the hypocrisy of the conservatives and the so-called "Moral Majority." I knew the evangelicals were full of shit when Jerry Falwell was leading them to support Ronald Reagan and then George W. Bush, and they are just as full of shit today.

Just imagine the level of outrage that would have been directed at Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama if even a portion of the disgusting comments voiced by Donald Trump had been uttered by either one of them.

Simply put it would have ended their campaigns months ago, and the entire Democratic party would be tainted by those statements for decades to come.

But, if a GOP candidate says all that and much worse....ho hum.... no big deal....let's move on.

CNN now has a treasure trove of disgusting comments that Donald Trump made on the Howard Stern show, some much much worse than the "grab her pu**y" comments, and those will not change the minds of the evangelicals either.

By the way CNN's John King pointed out quite rightly that Donald Trump did not just make lewd and lascivious remarks, he essentially admitted to a crime.

But that won't make any difference to these people either.

Trump once said that he could shoot a man on Fifth Avenue and it would not cost him any support, apparently he could also rape a woman on that same street and the so-called "Christian" majority in this country would simply turn a blind eye.

In fact Trump is predicting that he will emerge unscathed.

"Comedy is hard." The ladies of The View mock Palin for her Values Voters speech.

The co-hosts of ABC’s The View on Monday mocked former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin‘s weekend speech at the Values Voter Summit, wherein the former Republican vice presidential candidate mistakenly referred to the White House address as “1400 Pennsylvania Avenue.” 

During the speech, Palin cracked a joke about President Barack Obama‘s now-infamous “latte salute” and, when talking about the president’s current home, gave the wrong address. 

“She’s proving once again that comedy is difficult,” said Rosie O’Donnell after the show aired a clip from Palin’s speech.

As you see it is left to poor Nicolle Wallace to come to Palin's defense. Which I think we all  know must really burn her ass.

You know I predicted way back in 2009 that someday Palin's name would only turn up as a question on Jeopardy or the punch line to a joke.

Nice to see how close we are to those predictions coming true. 

The Values Voters folks demonstrate once and for all that their "values" lead them to choosing the worst candidates imaginable for President.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) has come in first in the Values Voter Summit presidential straw poll for the second year running. Receiving 25 percent of the votes cast, down from 42 percent in 2013, Cruz was the favorite for the 2016 Republican president nomination among the 2,000 social conservatives activists at the conference. 

Dr. Ben Carson, the former neurosurgeon, was second in the poll with 20 percent of the vote, up from 13 percent last year, while former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee came in third with 12 percent. Other speakers at this year's summit include Rick Santorum, who was fourth with 10 percent, and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, fifth with 7 percent.

Holy crap!

The first, second, and third choice was the guy that thinks we are about to throw Lorne Michaels in jail, the guy who thinks Obamacare is worse than 9-11, and the guy who said that women needed government to help them control their libido?

All I can say to the idea of any of these three imbeciles being chosen as the GOP nominee in 2016, is "Yes please!"

Update: Even among this group of mental midgets Palin was only able to garner nine votes.

Realizing that she is falling behind in her "attack the President over nothing" quota, Sarah Palin goes for the jugular over a Styrofoam cup and a fumbled salute. Oh the humanity!

What you are seeing is the President of these United States buttoning his coat with one hand and then trying to return the salute of the Marines posted by his helicopter, without stopping to put his cup of tea down first.

Which in this country is clearly an impeachable offense.

Well as least according to several REAL Americans tweeted as reported by the Daily Mail:

President Barack Obama saluted a pair of United States Marines on Tuesday while holding what appeared to be a styrofoam cup in his saluting hand, a breach of military regulations that won't win him fans among veterans and servicemen. 

Obama is known for drinking tea, not coffee, when he travels, especially before delivering speeches. 

His quasi-saluting gesture was an instant embarrassment for the White House, and not because his environmentally taboo drinkware clashed with the green-policy speech he was on his way to deliver at a UN Climate Summit. 

Yes how can the man who is right now coordinating an attack overseas against ISIL while battling the many domestic problems at home, NOT understand that the most important thing to remember is to  NEVER use an environmentally unfriendly coffee cup, but if he must to toss it to the ground in order to return a salute from any military personnel.?

And he dares to call himself the Commander-in-Chief.

Well this did not escape the notice of "she who perches in anticipation" and Palin immediately sprang into action to post that Daily Mail new links while adding this biting criticism:

No attacks on the President's manhood? No calls for impeachment? Not even a mention of Track's warrior body?

As it turns out Palin is right now preparing to give her speech at the Values Voter Summit.

In fact if you click the link up above you can watch her behind the scenes (For free!) as she prepares for her speech, discusses her red, white, and blue toenails ("I love'em!"), her spangly wrist bracelet ("This is the symbol for death to tyranny,  the crossbones and skull. Jesus, my fav! I love this!"), and hugs T.W. Shannon (He's a black guy!), Mike Lee, and Ted Cruz, before taking the stage at Tulsa.

Fortunately the video cuts out right after she screeches how happy she is to be there. But if you listen carefully you can already hear dogs all over Oklahoma screaming in agony.

Personally I am a little disappointed that Palin is so off her game that she can not launch a barely coherent attack against the President, while also babbling like an idiot in front of a bunch of Evangelical disphits.

It's like she is not even trying anymore.

I think I'm going to blame the drunken brawl.

Apparently the "values" that the Family Research Council believe representative of their kind of politician includes drunken brawls, domestic violence, and threats of retribution.

That kind of made me wonder if Perkins and the FRC knew about Palin's recent family values demonstration in Anchorage, so I sent out a tweet, to sort of bring them up to speed.
