President Bush said today that he would pull U.S. troops out of Iraq if he didn't think the United States could win the war against terrorism.
"And if I didn't think it was important that we succeed, I wouldn't stay," Bush told the National Restaurant Assn. convention in Chicago. "And the reason it's important is that we must understand that we're in a global war against a totalitarian group of people who will kill innocent life, there or here, in order to achieve an objective."
Bush quoted Al Qaeda leaders in Iraq as saying democracies are weak and capitalist societies are soft. "Their view is that if they kill enough innocent people, we will tire and leave," he said.
The terrorists, he added, will be disappointed.
Well it is clear that somebody is going to be disappointed.
I am not sure whether Bush refuses to accept the reality of what is going on in Iraq, or if he truly does not know how bad it has become. I mean how deep does his pathology run?
Is our President truly so divorced from reality that he literally cannot see bad news or is he just trying to demonstrate a positive facade in the face of overwhelmingly bad news?
My take? The man is off his fucking rocker! And that is an acceptable mental health diagnosis, look it up.
