Is Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu about to be arrested by his own police? Maybe.

You can always tell a crook by who they pal around with.
Courtesy of CNN:

Israeli police said Tuesday there is "sufficient evidence" to indict Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on criminal charges in two corruption cases.

According to a police statement published late Tuesday, authorities found evidence of "accepting bribes, fraud, and breach of trust."

In a televised statement, Netanyahu said that the allegations against him would be dismissed, repeating what has become his catchphrase, "There will be nothing because there is nothing."

In a statement given moments before police issued their official findings, he said: "I think about the good of the country not for personal reasons of the press, but only for the country, and nothing will stop me from doing this, not even the attacks against me, and believe me they're never ending.

"And, therefore, today isn't different from any other days which I've been through in past 20 years."

Well if he actually got arrested, THAT might be a little different.

Okay seriously, is there anybody close to Donald Trump and Sarah Palin who are NOT crooks?

Israel to name a train station after Donald Trump. Oh they are definitely going to regret this.

Courtesy of Newsweek:

The Israeli government is to name a train station after President Donald Trump following his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel earlier this month.

The station will be built at the Western Wall, the site where Jews pray and believe to be a standing wall of the Second Temple, an ancient holy site revered in Judaism. Trump became the first sitting U.S. president to visit the site in May.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet lauded the Dec. 6 announcement as a recognition of reality and were moved to show their appreciation to the American leader.

"The Western Wall is the holiest place for the Jewish people, and I decided to name the train station that leads to it after President Trump—following his historic and brave decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel," Israeli Transportation Minister Israel Katz said, according to The Jerusalem Post.

I think it is becoming fairly obvious that the Trump presidency is going to end in scandal, so I would predict that Israel is going to be very unhappy about this decision.

Probably within the next year or so.

After all there is a reason we do not have a connecting flight at the Richard Nixon airport, or drive down the Richard M. Nixon turnpike.

At some point Trump's name will be used as a derogatory remark or insult, along the lines of "Boy he really Trumped that up didn't he?" or " Trump you, for driving like that!"

I mean if the Netanyahu wanted to insult it citizens why not call it the Adolph Hitler train station?

After all there ARE a number of similarities.

Donald Trump causes tension, impacts tourism, in Bethlehem. So Christian of him.

Damaged Virgin Mary statue in Bethlehem.
Courtesy of Vanguard:

With Christmas just some hours away, tensions are simmering in the city of Bethlehem, Jesus birthplace and the region over President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The controversial December 6 announcement by Trump unleashed demonstrations and clashes, including in the Israeli-occupied Bethlehem, where Christians will mark the birth of Jesus in a midnight mass.

Bethlehem is normally flooded by tourists at this time of year, but has at times appeared almost empty of visitors as nearby clashes between Palestinian protesters and the Israeli army keep people away.

Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, apostolic administrator of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, said “dozens” of groups had pulled out of planned visits after being scared off by the announcement and subsequent violence.

“Of course this created a tension around Jerusalem and this diverted attention from Christmas,” the Catholic church’s top official in Jerusalem said of Trump’s announcement, but stressing that Christmas celebrations would go ahead as planned.

Of course the official word is that tourism is up, but that is from Netanyahu's ministry of tourism, so much like what comes out of the Trump White House it should probably be completely disregarded.

That is of course unless you would choose to believe a government official trying to tamp down fears of possible violence in such a sacred place, or an archbishop who is merely observing the facts on the ground.

I really think this declaring of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is going to have long term negative effects on the region that could long outlive Trump's hopefully brief presidency.

Do you want to see Jared Kushner get humiliated on live TV? Sure you do.

Ouch!

Here is a breakdown courtesy of Washington Journals:

Kushner made an appearance at the Saban Forum as part of his role as lead U.S. negotiator for Middle East peace — a job for which he has neither the qualifications nor aptitude.

Speaking on live television with Haim Saban, the forum founder and an Israeli-American telecom billionaire, Kushner seemed as if he thought he was in safe territory.

Saban has made clear that his global political priority is Israeli security, and Kushner and Trump have actually sabotaged the peace process in order to give symbolic victories to his home country. Saban let Kushner play expert for one full minute, listening to him rattle off a laundry list of Middle-Eastern issues — as though he were diagnosing a complex problem when he was really giving a third grade report — before he had heard enough.

“I understand that,” Saban said with a chuckle. “But, to achieve that, the team has in it an entrepreneur, a real estate lawyer, a bankruptcy lawyer. I don’t know how you’ve lasted eight months in this lineup, but that’s for another day. And it’s impressive that it’s still going! There’s not a Middle East macher [Yiddish for expert] in this group, so, I mean, how do you operate with people who basically, you know…with all due respect, a bunch of Orthodox Jews who have no idea about anything?”

And Saban was just getting started. Sure, he and Kushner may be ostensibly on the same pro-Israel side, but Saban is not an idiot. He understands that putting dangerously unqualified people into positions of real power is a threat to everybody. It’s something only the most deeply entrenched factions of Donald Trump’s base have yet to figure out.

"I don’t know how you’ve lasted eight months in this lineup, but that’s for another day."

That's a burn that will leave a mark.

Apparently nobody really takes this administration, or Jared Kushner, seriously.

Middle East erupts in violence in response to Trump's announcement that America will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Courtesy of the Chicago Tribune:

Clashes between hundreds of Palestinian protesters and Israeli troops erupted across the West Bank on Thursday while demonstrators in Gaza burned posters of President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as Israeli and U.S. flags.

The leader of the Hamas militant group, which runs Gaza, called for a new armed uprising in a widespread show of anger over Trump's move to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital. In the West Bank, crowds of protesters set tires on fire and hurled stones at anti-riot troops.

In the biblical town of Bethlehem, troops fired water cannons and tear gas to disperse a crowd, in clashes that could cloud the upcoming Christmas celebrations in the town of Jesus' birth. In Ramallah, the seat of the Palestinian government, protesters set tires on fire, sending a thick plume of black smoke over the city.

Before any of you start pointing out the obvious, yes I realize that this is a Trump directed distraction to keep us from talking about the Russia investigations.

However this also has devastating real world consequences so we really cannot ignore it.

Trust me I will have plenty to say about the Russian investigations in future posts.

By the way is anybody else deeply troubled by how casually people like Trump will risk the life of hundreds, if not thousands, simply to divert attention away from a potential scandal?

Donald Trump announces plan to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Does not go over well.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

President Trump on Wednesday formally recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, reversing nearly seven decades of American foreign policy and setting in motion a plan to move the United States Embassy from Tel Aviv to the fiercely contested Holy City.

“Today we finally acknowledge the obvious: that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital,” Mr. Trump said from the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House. “This is nothing more or less than a recognition of reality. It is also the right thing to do. It’s something that has to be done.”

The president cast his decision as a break with decades of failed policy on Jerusalem, which the United States, along with virtually every other nation in the world, has declined to recognize as the capital since Israel’s founding in 1948. That policy, he said, brought us “no closer to a lasting peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.”

“It would be folly to assume that repeating the exact same formula would now produce a different or better result,” Mr. Trump declared.

Recognizing Jerusalem, he added, was “a long overdue step to advance the peace process.”

Yeah, I don't think Donald Trump understands what the word "peace" means, because this is not how you go about attaining it.

Courtesy of Al Jazeera:

Mahmoud Abbas has lambasted the US decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, saying the Palestinian leadership refuses to acknowledge President Donald Trump's contentious move.

Calling Jerusalem the "eternal capital of the State of Palestine", the president of the Palestinian Authority said on Wednesday the US could no longer be a mediator in Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations.

His comments were in response to an earlier announcement by Trump during which he said the US was formally recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and would begin the process of moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to the city.

"This is a reward to Israel," Abbas said in a televised address, adding that Trump's move encouraged Israel's "continuing occupation" of the Palestinian territories.

Earlier in the day, Palestinian leaders called for three days of rage against the move.

Boy that sounds peaceful, doesn't it?

There was also this:
Trump had said earlier that he had the support of Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations, but according to news reports there is NOBODY on the Arab side who is cool with this, or anybody else for that matter.

Courtesy of the BBC:

The US decision comes despite vocal opposition in the Muslim world, even among US allies.

On Tuesday Saudi Arabia's King Salman had said that the move "would constitute a flagrant provocation of Muslims, all over the world".

Demonstrations have already taken place in Gaza and outside the US consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said it was "a moment of great anxiety". "There is no alternative to the two-state solution. There is no Plan B," he said.

In other reaction:

Prime Minister Theresa May said she disagreed with the US decision, which was "unhelpful in terms of prospects for peace in the region"

French President Emmanuel Macron said France did not support the move and called for calm

EU chief diplomat Federica Mogherini voiced "serious concern"

Boy color me confused.

Here I thought that Trump was just focused on trying to start a nuclear war with North Korea, but  it appears the tiny fingered multitasker is also going to try and create a conflagration in the Middle East as well.

What was it that Michael Caine said in that Batman movie?

“...some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.”

I think Vladimir Putin and the deplorables have placed such a man into the White House.

The Israelis alerted the United States that the Russian antivirus software installed on their computers was stealing American secrets.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

It was a case of spies watching spies watching spies: Israeli intelligence officers looked on in real time as Russian government hackers searched computers around the world for the code names of American intelligence programs.

What gave the Russian hacking, detected more than two years ago, such global reach was its improvised search tool — antivirus software made by a Russian company, Kaspersky Lab, that is used by 400 million people worldwide, including by officials at some two dozen American government agencies.

The Israeli officials who had hacked into Kaspersky’s own network alerted the United States to the broad Russian intrusion, which has not been previously reported, leading to a decision just last month to order Kaspersky software removed from government computers.

The Russian operation, described by multiple people who have been briefed on the matter, is known to have stolen classified documents from a National Security Agency employee who had improperly stored them on his home computer, on which Kaspersky’s antivirus software was installed. What additional American secrets the Russian hackers may have gleaned from multiple agencies, by turning the Kaspersky software into a sort of Google search for sensitive information, is not yet publicly known.

I think it is a safe bet that this is the information that Trump shared with his new Kremlin buddies during that White House visit.

Knowing what we know now the very idea that we would install antivirus software created by the Russians on government computers seems the very definition of stupidity.

It just shows how criminally unprepared were for a cyber attack of this magnitude.

Speaking of the Russian hacking, how is that House investigation going anyway?

Courtesy of CNN:

The chairman of the House intelligence committee has issued subpoenas to the partners who run Fusion GPS, the research firm that produced the dossier of memos on alleged Russian efforts to aid the Trump campaign, according to sources briefed on the matter.

The subpoenas -- signed by California Republican Rep. Devin Nunes -- were issued Oct. 4, demanding documents and testimony later this month and early November.

But the subpoenas appear to be the latest fight in an investigation that has periodically been hobbled by controversy and infighting.

A Democratic committee source said "the subpoenas were issued unilaterally by the majority, without the minority's agreement and despite good faith engagement thus far by the witnesses on the potential terms for voluntary cooperation."

Indeed, the move blindsided some committee members, multiple sources told CNN. And it has angered some on the committee who say that Nunes is still seeking to direct an investigation he was supposed to have no involvement in leading.

"He's not in any way, shape or form working on the investigation," said one Democratic committee member. "He's sitting outside the investigation and pushing it in a political direction."

So Trump tells the Russian spies that the Israelis caught on to how they were accessing some of our government information, and now his congressional puppet is working to sabotage an investigation into who else worked to make the hacking more effective.

Donald Trump's first UN speech had some diplomats squirming in their seats while others did not even bother to show up in the first place.

Courtesy of The Independent:

Donald Trump’s provocative address to the UN General Assembly had ambassadors squirming in their seats as the US President refused to hold back on attacking America’s enemies.

Mr Trump went on a rambling crusade against a number of states, including North Korea, Iran and Venezuela - prompting awkward responses from delegates.

Some representatives even refused to listen to the speech; North Korea’s UN ambassador walked out before Mr Trump arrived, leaving a more junior diplomat to represent the country.

Now it may not bother too many people that Trump ranted against North Korea and Iran, but they were not the only countries that Trump made uneasy.

Courtesy of McClatchy:

The list of state leaders missing the international event is long and growing. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are two of the highest profile absences. But there are many whose faces were noticeably absent during Trump’s aggressive speech Tuesday on confronting North Korea, terrorism and communism, including Germany’s Angela Merkel, Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro and Mexico’s Enrique Peña Nieto.

Diplomats say they’ve learned it can be risky to share the spotlight with Trump, who can turn even the most well-intentioned exchange into an international spectacle, such as his notorious call with the Australian prime minister about refugees or the dressing down of NATO leaders at the unveiling of a new headquarters.

These world leaders and diplomats are clearly afraid of getting too close to the Donald and getting a little crazy on them.

CNN actually offers photographic evidence of the reactions of the diplomats in the room during Trump's speech.

Russia
Iran
South Korea
Israel
Well of course Netanyahu liked it, he is almost as unhinged as Trump.

At one point in his speech Trump said that "America stands for every person living under a brutal regime."

Talk about projection.

Donald Trump thinking about pulling out of Middle East peace talks after his unqualified son-in-law screws up meeting with Palestinian leaders.

Courtesy of The Hill:

The London-based Arabic daily al-Hayat reports that Kushner's meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was “tense,” according to a translation from the Jerusalem Post, and Abbas was reportedly furious at Kushner relaying the demands of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israeli newspaper Haaretz also reports that Palestinian officials were “greatly disappointed” by their meeting with Kushner and Trump’s Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt.

"They sounded like Netanyahu's advisers and not like fair arbiters," a senior Palestinian official told the newspaper. "They started presenting Netanyahu's issues and then we asked to hear from them clear stances regarding the core issues of the conflict."

The report also claims that the Trump delegation was also upset with Abbas for refusing to denounce a recent stabbing attack in Jerusalem.

A Palestinian official reportedly told al-Hayat that Kushner will report back to Trump on the meetings and Trump will then make a decision on continuing with the talks.

“(Kushner) will submit his report to the president and, after it is submitted, Trump will decide if there's a chance for negotiations or it might be preferable to pull out of peace talks," the official said, according to a translation by the Post.

Earlier Trump had said this about Middle East peace:

“I want to see peace with Israel and the Palestinians,” Trump told Reuters Thursday. "There is no reason there’s not peace between Israel and the Palestinians — none whatsoever.”

Trump also claimed that making peace would be a lot easier than people claimed.

So with this in mind he sent a trust fund baby with absolutely no experience to negotiate a peace deal which has eluded expert negotiators for decades, and now that it has hit a snag he is considering just saying fuck it to the whole thing.

Gee, no wonder the Russians wanted this guy in charge of our country.

The information that Trump leaked to the Russians visiting the White House was that Israel had hacked ISIS computers.

Hey you wanna hear some of the nuclear codes I memorized?
This is from a New York Times article detailing how hard it is to use cyber weapons against ISIS:

Even one of the rare successes against the Islamic State belongs at least in part to Israel, which was America’s partner in the attacks against Iran’s nuclear facilities. Top Israeli cyberoperators penetrated a small cell of extremist bombmakers in Syria months ago, the officials said. That was how the United States learned that the terrorist group was working to make explosives that fooled airport X-ray machines and other screening by looking exactly like batteries for laptop computers.

The intelligence was so exquisite that it enabled the United States to understand how the weapons could be detonated, according to two American officials familiar with the operation. The information helped prompt a ban in March on large electronic devices in carry-on luggage on flights from 10 airports in eight Muslim-majority countries to the United States and Britain.

It was also part of the classified intelligence that President Trump is accused of revealing when he met in the Oval Office last month with the Russian foreign minister, Sergey V. Lavrov, and the ambassador to the United States, Sergey I. Kislyak. His disclosure infuriated Israeli officials.

To be clear this incredibly sensitive information was just revealed to two Russian spies simply as a way for Trump to brag about what great classified information to which he had access.

Imagine how that must have made the Israeli intelligence community feel, and how it impacted our allies ability to trust this country with confidential information that if revealed might put their agents in danger or reveal tactics that could help our mutual enemies.

And somebody tell me what information leaked about Donald Trump even comes close to being as damaging to our national security as what he simply volunteered to two Russian operative who should never have been allowed into the White House in he first place.

Don't touch me! Update!

Courtesy of Marie Claire:

Speculation around Donald Trump and Melania Trump's marriage is about to get a whole lot more intense. In a video of the pair walking away from Air Force One after landing in Tel Aviv, Melania Trump can be seen slapping her husband's hand away as he tries to hold it.

(Closer look here.)

Such a loving couple don't you think?

I don't blame her. If that obese orange asshole tried to touch me I would knock him on his flabby ass.

I don't want my hand shook, I don't want my back patted, and I don't want my pussy grabbed by his POS.  (Okay technically I don't have that last one but if I did....)

Of course none of this is surprising.

Remember this from the inauguration?
Maybe this is why Melania and Trump do not sleep in the same room, or most of the time not even in the same city, he is probably afraid she will kill him the minute he slips into unconsciousness.

And really, who could blame her?

Update: Still think this was a fluke?
No that is a woman who is repulsed by her husband's touch.

And did he reach for her ass after that?

Donald Trump defends sharing classified information with Russia, and now we know where he got that information.

So Erdogan you wanna hear some classified information? I know some. And I can share it cause I'm the president.
Courtesy of the New York Times:

A day after his advisers disputed a news article about the conversation, the president focused instead on justifying what he did and blaming those who disclosed it. In a series of early-morning posts on Twitter, he said he had the “absolute right” to give “facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety” to Russia’s foreign minister and ambassador.

Asked about the conversation by reporters during a later appearance with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, Mr. Trump again did not deny providing the information, but he instead cast it as an attempt to collaborate with Russia in the war against the Islamic State. “We’re going to have a lot of great success over the coming years, and we want to get as many to fight terrorism as possible,” he said.

I don't see how he is going to "have a lot of success over the coming years" after he is removed from office.

In other news, also by the New York Times, we now know where that information that Trump spilled to those two Russian spies originated:

The classified intelligence that President Trump disclosed in a meeting last week with Russian officials at the White House was provided by Israel, according to a current and a former American official familiar with how the United States obtained the information. The revelation adds a potential diplomatic complication to the episode.

Israel is one of the United States’ most important allies and a major intelligence collector in the Middle East. The revelation that Mr. Trump boasted about some of Israel’s most sensitive information to the Russians could damage the relationship between the two countries. It also raises the possibility that the information could be passed to Iran, Russia’s close ally and Israel’s main threat in the Middle East.

Currently Israel is refusing to confirm or deny that they were the source of the classified data, which of course is more or less an admission that they were.

This is especially bad news as Israel is one of America's closest allies in dealing with turmoil in the Middle East.

But hey here is national security adviser, Gen. H. R. McMaster, to explain why none of this is Trump's fault.
Yeah how can the president be expected to keep classified information secret, if he does not even KNOW who provided that classified information?

I mean come on, what is he a mind reader?

Oh god, we are so fucked!

Trump's buddy in Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu, may be facing indictment on bribery charges.

Courtesy of The Independent:

Police are likely to recommend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is indicted following an investigation into bribery allegations, national broadcaster Channel 2 has reported.

Multiple investigations into the leader were opened, but Case 1000 – which allegedly involves illegal gifts – was being treated as separate to the other ongoing investigations.

The TV channel reported that Case 1000 was to be closed with a recommendation to indict the Israeli leader in the next six weeks.

Mr Netanyahu was reportedly questioned under police caution three times as part of the inquiry. He is expected to be interviewed once more before the probe closes.

The leader is accused of accepting of tens of thousands of dollars in gifts – including suits and cigars – from wealthy businessmen. He has vigorously denied any wrongdoing.

Well now we know why Donald Trump gets along so well with the Israel Prime Minister.

Corrupt pieces of shit have so much in common with other corrupt pieces of shit.

Israel decides to celebrate Donald Trump's victory by defying international law and further oppressing the Palestinians.

Courtesy of BBC:

Israel has approved hundreds of new settlement homes in occupied East Jerusalem, after the staunch pro-Israel US President Donald Trump took office.

Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Meir Turgeman told AFP: "Now we can finally build."

Israel's PM reportedly delayed approval given the opposition of Barack Obama, who infuriated Israel by allowing a UN resolution against settlements to pass.

Settlements in East Jerusalem are considered illegal under international law, though Israel disputes this.

For his part Trump just invited Netanyahu to come hang.

Courtesy of Politico:

President Donald Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday and invited him to the United States in February, according to a statement released by Netanyahu’s office.

“The Prime Minister expressed his desire to work closely with President Trump to forge a common vision to advance peace and security in the region, with no daylight between the United States and Israel,” the statement said.

Gee maybe Trump will also invite Putin and they can all sit around laughing about all of the human rights they plan to stomp on.

Only a handful of people on the planet could make President Obama wait for them. Apparently Bill Clinton is one of them.

Courtesy of New York Magazine:

After attending the funeral of Shimon Peres in Israel on Friday, Barack Obama boarded Air Force One to head back to the States. Only problem was he had to wait for former president Bill Clinton, who took his damn time in boarding the flight.

Somehow I have the feeling that if Bill pulls that shit with the NEXT President of the United States he will find himself standing on the tarmac trying to flag down passing planes looking for a lift home.

Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu refuses White House invitation that he requested in the first place.

Courtesy of Reuters:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declined an offer to meet U.S. President Barack Obama at the White House later this month and canceled his trip to Washington, the White House said on Monday.

Netanyahu's decision to nix his U.S. visit marked the latest episode in a fraught relationship with Obama that has yet to recover from their deep differences over last year's U.S.-led international nuclear deal with Iran, Israel's arch foe.

The White House said the Israeli government had requested a Netanyahu meeting with Obama on either March 18 or 19 and that two weeks ago he was offered a March 18 encounter.

"We were looking forward to hosting the bilateral meeting, and we were surprised to first learn via media reports that the prime minister, rather than accept our invitation, opted to cancel his visit," White House spokesman Ned Price said in an emailed statement. "Reports that we were not able to accommodate the prime minister's schedule are false," he said.

I really dislike this guy. He is a warmongering demagogue.

It would almost be as if we elected ted Cruz to represent our country.

And the fact that he is essentially a puppet of the Republican just makes him that much more distasteful.

Speaking of Right Wing nutjobs, what's Michele "crazy eyes" Bachmann been up to lately?

So one time Congresswoman from Minnesota, Michele Bachmann has been on a tour of Israel with Family Research Council president Tony Perkins.

During the last week of this tour she appeared on Perkins' radio program, where she said this as reported by Right Wing Watch:

“Almost every article in the paper” has to do with conflicts in Israel, Bachmann said, “and it ties with so much biblical prophecy. This week really was about biblical prophecy in many ways. And we’re seeing as events are speeding up, events are speeding up so quickly right now, and we see how relevant the Bible is, and we’re reading our newspaper, at the same time we’re learning about these biblical events, and it’s literally day by day by day, we’re seeing the fulfillment of scripture right in front of our eyes, even while we’re on the ground.”

“We recognize the shortness of the hour,” she said, “and that’s why we as a remnant want to be faithful in these days and do what it is that the Holy Spirit is speaking to each one of us, to be faithful in the Kingdom and to help bring in as many as we can — even among the Jews — share Jesus Christ with everyone that we possibly can because, again, He’s coming soon.”

So to be clear Bachmann is visiting the Jewish state of Israel, you know a place bursting at the seams with Jewish people, and pushing for their conversion to Christianity as quickly as possible, based on her belief that Jesus has already bought his return ticket and is on his way.

Now that does not sound very respectful of other religions does it?

But once again THAT is what motivates these fundamentalist Christians to support Israel.

They say they love the people of Israel, but only because they believe that two thirds of them need to die in order to usher in the return of Jesus. And that once that happens the rest will convert to Christianity.

In fact they love them much like they love the soldiers who they eagerly send off to die in foreign lands to protect the "homeland" and of course the flow of their precious oil.

Bachmann is only saying out loud what all of them believe in their hearts, and that is that Israel exists solely so that THEIR messiah can return, and after that the people of Israel will have served their purpose.

GOP candidate Ben Carson accuses President Obama of antisemitism.

Here let me tell you about something else I don;t understand.
Courtesy of Bloomberg:

Ben Carson has a way with words.

In a Sunday interview with Fox News, the Republican presidential candidate doubled down on his assertion that a speech given by President Obama intended to sell the American public on his nuclear deal with Iran contained "coded innuendos employing standard anti-Semitic themes.”

Carson's claim first appeared in an editorial that the retired neurosurgeon published Sunday in the Jerusalem Post, and Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace pressed the candidate to explain what, in particular, he believed to be anti-Semitic about the president's remarks.

"I think anything is anti-semitic that is against the survival of a state that is surrounded by enemies and people who want to destroy them," Carson said. "To act like everything is normal there and that these people are paranoid, I think that's anti-Semitic." Carson added that on a recent trip to Israel, he "couldn't find a single person there who didn't feel that this administration had turned their backs on Israel."

Gee I wonder who Carson was talking to in Israel?

Israel's warmongering prime minister Netanyahu and his staff perhaps?

So to be clear the deal that keeps Iran from developing a nuclear weapon for at least the next ten years, and therefore decreases their ability to threaten Israel, who already has nuclear weapons, makes the President an anti-Semite?

Gee that makes all kinds of sense.

You know just because President Obama does not genuflect at Netanyahu's feet like the Republicans in Congress, does not mean that he is anti-Semite. It simply means that he is well aware that Netanyahu uses the possibility of Iranians getting nuclear weapons to scare his people into keeping him in power and has decided to take actual steps to protect the people of Israel rather than buoy up their Prime Minister's political power base.

By the way would you be surprised to learn that this idiot is now right behind Donald Trump in the most recent Fox News poll? Well he is.

Mike Huckabee all but calls President Obama a Nazi. Update!

Courtesy of Haaretz:

Former Arkansas governor and GOP presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee blasted President Barack Obama on Saturday over the nuclear deal reached between Iran and world powers, saying that by trusting the Iranians, the president "will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven."

In an interview with Breitbart, the 59-year-old conservative television personality called Obama's foreign policy "the most feckless in American history" and dubbed the Iran deal "the most idiotic thing." "It should be rejected by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress and by the American people," he said.

"March them toward the door of the oven?"

How is that any different than Teabaggers holding up signs like this?

Seriously Republicans, is Mike Huckabee, Donald Trump, and the rest of the GOP clown car, really the best you can come up with to run for the most powerful political office in the world?

Update: Damn look how proud Huckabee is of this remark.

Well good let him wear it like a Scarlett "A" for asshole for the est of his life.

Story of the day: Historic nuclear deal struck with Iran.

Secretary of State John Kerry with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif
Courtesy of NBC News:

Iran and world powers capped a decade-long dispute by reaching a historic deal early Tuesday for Tehran to curb its nuclear program in exchange for the easing of economic sanctions.

The Islamic republic has been negotiating with the U.S., Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China for years, with diplomats most recently extending numerous deadlines in hopes of arriving at a workable and comprehensive plan.

President Barack Obama said the deal with Tehran ensures that "every pathway to a nuclear weapon" had been cut off.

"We have stopped the spread of nuclear weapons in this region," he said in an early-morning statement which — in a rare move — was carried on Iranian television.

Joe Biden called the Affordable Care Act a "big fucking deal."

Well this is a really, REALLY big fucking deal!

Of course Israel and Saudi Arabia are vocally speaking out against this deal, and insisting that Iran will never honor any agreement. But that is to be expected.

However there is language in the agreement that the sanctions now removed will "snap back" if Iran defies any of the provisions and that would put them back to square one, with very little hope of negotiating anything new for decades afterward.

It is also worth noting that America and Iran did not reach this deal on their own. They were joined by Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia, and the European Union.

Which means that if Iran tries to pull anything underhanded they will have destroyed their relationship with just about every potential ally they could possibly have in the world.

I don't care how arrogant you might be, pissing off the entire world and turning them against you is never the smart thing to do.

Man that Obama legacy thing is looking more impressive every day.
