Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Moore Up North for February 27, 2010.
For those of you who have been following the Alaska blogs for awhile this may be the first time that you will get a chance to see and hear Ann Strongheart who was a co-founder of the Anonymous Bloggers site over to the left on my blogroll.
She gave many people their first glimpse into what life in rural Alaska is all about. And as many Mudpuppies know all too well she also provided information about how the villages that were so terribly affected by the cold snap and lack of fuel last year responded to the donations that many of you sent.
Part Two
This panel of Alaska's first people helps those of us living in cities and outside of Alaska a real understanding of what it means to live a "subsistence" lifestyle.
Part Three
Part Four
Part Five

Part One
In this next segment Shannyn welcomes Tom Brennan, author / columnist at the Anchorage Daily Planet, Bob Poe, a candidate for Governor of Alaska, and Steve Heimel, veteran Alaskan broadcaster.
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four
Part Five
I am becoming more and more (or is that Moore and Moore) impressed with this show each week.
We have NOTHING else like this in Alaska, and it clearly fills a need. Shannyn is becoming ever more comfortable in her role as the "hostess with the mostess", and the panel she picks are always very well informed and interesting.
My only bitch with the show is the production value, but everybody knows that it is not the best and they are hoping to improve it.

Moore up North for January 23, 2010. Let's talk Oceans!
This first segment introduces Michelle Ridgeway, a Marine Ecologist who spends a great deal of her time exploring the seabeds in Alaska.
Part Two
In part two Shannyn is joined by this week's panel which includes:
- Jeremy T. Mathis, an Assistant Professor of Chemical Oceanography at the University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Fisheries and Oceanography.
- Dr. Thomas Hurst, a Research Fishery Biologist in the Fisheries Behavioral Ecology Program of the NOAAs Alaska Fisheries Science Center.
-Jeffrey Short, a researcher with Oceana.
Part Three
Part Four
Part Five
I am not at all sure how this very Alaska based show is received by my visitors from outside of our beautiful state, but speaking just for myself, I find that I learn more about the issues impacting Alaska on Shannyn's show then I do from any other information outlet.
BTW if you know any Climate Change deniers, you should sit their ass down and make them watch this program. The gentlemen on this panel explain, in very simple terms, just what kind of devastating effect mankind is having on our oceans and how that will impact ALL of us.

Very interesting show. Shannnyn has a real knack for providing a platform for people to have different points of view without it becoming an Alaskan version of the "Jerry Springer Show".

Moore up North starts in just two hours.
If you are in Alaska tune into channel 5 KYES and get ready for a great show. I understand that this one is very emotional.
If you are out of state, have no fear I will embed the entire thing as soon as it becomes available.
The video above was put together by Dennis Zaki who told me the show was really good. Well I have my popcorn ready.
Friday, November 27, 2009
Well it looks like Shannyn Moore spent part of her Thanksgiving with Levi Johnston.
And she scored an interview with Tank Jones for her show "Moore up North" as well.
Sounds very interesting I will make sure to embed the YouTube version as soon as it is available.
Hmm I wonder what they are whispering to her?

If you were unable to watch Shannyn's new show "Moore up North" yesterday have no fear, you can now find it online!
Just click the title and enjoy watching Shannyn and the rest of the "under the Palin bus" folks talk about their, memories, impression, and concerns about Caribou Barbie. And don't miss the opening with Alice Welling. She does a fairly mean Sarah Palin impression. Emphasis on the "mean".

Moore Up North starts in less than one hour.

This is a "you don't dare miss it" episode.
The theme is people Sarah Palin has thrown under the bus with her book "Going Rogue" and as you can see from the picture above, the panel for today's program is made up of several people with tread marks on their bodies.
From left to right we have John Bitney, Anne Kilkenny, Andrew Halcro, and of course in the middle the lovely Shannyn Moore.
Personally I can't imagine how this program would NOT be extremely entertaining.
Just tune into channel 5, KYES at 4:00 and see for yourselves.
Afterward you can catch Shannyn's radio show on 700 KBYR at five. Click here for livestreaming.

At 4:00 Alaska time is the long awaited debut of "Moore up North", with the lovely Shannyn Moore! Don't miss it!
The show premiers on KYES channel 5, at 4:00 our time today.
I missed the taping last Wednesday due to horrible weather conditions and an uncooperative semi-truck in my path, but I heard it was very cool and will make damn sure not to miss it today from the comfort of my home.(I understand it will be made available on YouTube in the very near future if you are unable to watch it today.)
And after you finish watching this groundbreaking program, if you still have not had enough Shannyn Moore for the day (and really how could you?), then be sure to tune in to 700 KBYR on your radio dial, to hear Shannyn live at 5:00 Alaska time. (I also understand she might be joined by AKMuckraker. So you know you don't want to miss that!)
This next week may be all about Sarah Palin, but clearly Saturdays belong to Shannyn Moore!
