Catholics shoot themselves in the foot as their ridiculous protests help make "The Da Vinci Code" #1 in every country it opened in.

Final May 19-21 numbers have come in for The Da Vinci Code: a $231.8 million worldwide opening, making it the 2nd biggest ever -- $154.7 mil international, $77.1 mil domestic. Sony is telling me it was #1 in every territory it opened.

You know if I ever decide to make a movie I am going to make sure it pisses off the Catholics so that I can get all of that sweet free publicity.

You'd think they would have learned their lesson after the "Temptation of the Christ" debacle. But if they were smart they probably would not be Catholics. (Did I just say that out loud?)
