More lies revealed. Pentagon knew full well that they were engaging in torture and that it was useless for gathering intelligence.

In extensive interviews with MSNBC.com, former leaders of the Defense Department’s Criminal Investigation Task Force said they repeatedly warned senior Pentagon officials beginning in early 2002 that the harsh interrogation techniques used by a separate intelligence team would not produce reliable information, could constitute war crimes, and would embarrass the nation when they became public knowledge.

The investigators say their warnings began almost from the moment their agents got involved at the Guantanamo prison camp, in January 2002. When they could not prevent the harsh interrogations and humiliation of detainees at Guantanamo, they say, they tried in 2003 to stop the spread of those tactics to Iraq, where abuses at Abu Ghraib prison triggered worldwide outrage with the publishing of graphic photos in April 2004.

According to the President these tactics helped to get information that is keeping our country safer. There are many who disagree with that statement.

Whenever you hear two versions of anything that this administration has done, and one of those versions comes from the White House, then you should have no problem choosing who to believe. You can never be too cynical when it comes to this administration.

We have not just lost the high road, if we started climbing today it would take us five years to even reach the high road again! We are being compared to Al-Qaeda, and we are suffering by comparison! How is that possible? Wasn't it just five years ago, right after 9-11, when the whole world stood by our side, felt our pain, and voluntered to help us hunt down the criminals who attacked us? And where is that good will now?

This President took the world's compassion and treated it like it was a blank check to stomp all over the world like a giant two year old, wreaking carnage with every step. And now Americans have to pretend to be Canadians just to keep from getting spit on in Europe.

Are we safer? Is that a trick question?
