Prime Minister Tony Blair said Thursday that he will step down as prime minister on June 27, after a decade in office in which he brokered peace in Northern Ireland and followed the United States to war in Afghanistan and Iraq.
You know Tony Blair seemed like a decent person until he got caught up with George Bush. I am not an expert on British politics but he certainly was popular, and the country seemed to flourish under his guidance. But then he made the fatal mistake of listening to the man who stole the American Presidency, and he was undone.
I kind of hope that Tony Blair someday writes a book to tell us exactly what happened behind closed doors before the war began, and at various times throughout. I know I would buy it.
