Representative William Jefferson is indicted on 16 counts!

Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., was indicted Monday on federal charges of racketeering, soliciting bribes and money-laundering in a long- running bribery investigation into business deals he tried to broker in Africa.

The indictment handed up in federal court in Alexandria., Va., Monday is 94 pages long and lists 16 alleged violations of federal law that could keep Jefferson in prison for up to 235 years. He is charged with racketeering, soliciting bribes, wire fraud, money-laundering, obstruction of justice, conspiracy and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Jefferson is accused of soliciting bribes for himself and his family, and also for bribing a Nigerian official.

And if he is found guilty I certainly hope that the Democrats make an example of him to demonstrate the type of behavior that will not be tolerated in their Congress.

I am at heart an Independent and the only reason that I signed on with the Democrats was my anger and frustration with the Republicans. In my opinion the Republican party are soulless opportunists who have shown that making money is the only goal that unites them.

But if the Democrats start demonstrating corruption or a lack of integrity I will turn on them in a heat beat. You can bank on it.

  1. INTERESTING SITE!

Your last line starts, "But if the Democrats start demonstrating corruption...I will turn on them..."

Democrats were deep into corruption during Clinton's office! The same for Republicans...
Every party has a number who scheme and think that they can get away with it. Some really DO! Is it Destiny that we are saddled with polititions that always do this to us?

    On another note, about Destiny...

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ "CODES" RIGHT OUT OF YOUR OWN BIBLE, that "CONTROL" your Destiny?

  2. Rudy, here is another tip for Bible use. The pages are thin enough to make terrific rolling papers.
