Crap! I have to watch the Oscars again this year.

US comedian Jon Stewart is to host the Oscars ceremony for the second time, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has announced.

The 44-year-old received mixed reviews when he last presented Hollywood's top awards show in 2006, but organisers today called him a "terrific host".

"He is smart, quick, funny, and loves movies," said producer Gil Cates. "What else could one ask for?"

I hate the Oscars. The only time they are fun to watch is when my daughter is in town because she gets very passionate about who wins and loses. I only care about the Best Picture category.

But I love Jon Stewart. When he hosted the Academy awards I had a good time, even though I felt it was a poor fit for his particular brand of humor.

My favorite host will forever be Billy Crystal.
