Alarmed at the chance that the Republican party might pick Rudolph Giuliani as its presidential nominee despite his support for abortion rights, a coalition of influential Christian conservatives is threatening to back a third-party candidate in an attempt to stop him.
They have pissed off the Blacks voters,
They have pissed off the Hispanic voters.
They have pissed off the anti-war independent voters.
And now they are in danger of losing their most loyal base, the evangelical voter.
If this keeps up the Democrats might even be able to nominate Gravel and still win.

It couldn't happen to a more feckless and slavering lot than the current GOP. If the religious wrongs split off, my Grandpa's GOP might be resurrected. He voted a straight Democratic ticket in 1994, mortified by the Newt and what was happening to his party. He passed away in January 1995 - I am thoroughly convinced that seeing Power Rangers in the well of the House killed him.
