After the controversial appearance of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at Columbia University last week, an Iranian university yesterday invited President Bush to travel to Iran and speak on campus about a range of issues, including the Holocaust, terrorism, human rights and U.S. foreign policy, the Fars News Agency reported yesterday.
The invitation from Ferdowsi University in the northeastern city of Mashhad asked Bush to answer questions from students and professors "just the same way" that Ahmadinejad took questions "despite all the insults directed at him."
We all know that Bush the pretend soldier is too much of a coward to go to a nation that he has spent the last several months vilifying. Look at this chickenshit response:
"President Bush looks forward to traveling to a democratic Iran, an Iran where its leaders allow freedom of speech and assembly for all of its people and an Iran where the leaders mourn the victims of the Holocaust, not call for the destruction of Israel," National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said.
So in other words if Iran would change their country completely to a country more to Bush's liking he might deign to honor them with a visit.
Well you know what this tells me? That Mahmoud Ahmadinejad may be a truly horrible person, but he is not a coward. He came to our country which is ramping up its military to attack his homeland, spoke at the UN while maintaining his civility, and spoke at Columbia University after being introduced in the most disrespectful manner imaginable.
He suffered slanted news coverage by our media and in the end looked the better for it. In other words he did not run from an uncomfortable situation. Our President will not even allow his own people's protests be heard while he is speaking.
I am certainly not a fan of Ahmadinejad, but he is a much better man then George W. Bush.
