Hillary Clinton told reporters that both she and the presumtive Republican nominee John McCain offer the experience to be ready to tackle any crisis facing the country under their watch, but Barack Obama simply offers more rhetoric. “I think you'll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say,” she said. “He’s never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002.” Clinton was referring to Obama’s anti-war speech he delivered in Chicago before entering the United States Senate.
This can not be labeled as ANYTHING except the talk of a traitor to the Democratic party!
Hillary is so desperate to get this nomination that she is willing to sabotage the chances of her rival in the general election if he were to win the nomination. She is quite literally given John McCain the very ammunition he would need to beat Barack Obama, which he has very little chance of doing on his own.
She is absolutely devoid of ethics and I have now decided that if she is the nominee I will have to stay home during the November election. I cannot, in good conscience, support a person who conducts herself in this scurrilous fashion.
I am ashamed to have her in my party.
or you can do what my hub has already threatened ... to vote Nader, as a protest. Disgusted as I am, I'm not there yet.
ReplyDeleteHi Gryphen, saw your note on Enigma's site and came on over here. I saw a video somewhere of Hillary saying this and I agree, it is reprehensible. That said, I hope people can hold their noses and still vote for her because despite everything, she is more likely to support policies we support than John McCain will. It would become the lesser of two evils once again but lesser nevertheless.
ReplyDeleteI won't vote....not for her and we all need to be loud and clear about this- or we are done.
ReplyDeleteat this point, I don't think she is the lesser of 2 evils...she and Bill have broken this party and attacked OUR first real Candidate...since 1968....and the rovian tactics are beyond any integrity....
I will never ever ever Vote Early again...I am sure I made a HUGE mistake....
If the choice is between Clinton and McCain this fall, I won't be voting at all. Talk about a Hobson's Choice.
ReplyDeleteThe Borg Queen keeps referring to her “thirty-five years of experience” although it isn’t clear what props she gets for being First Lady — a ceremonial position and not an elected job.
ReplyDeleteWhile much of Bill Clinton’s tenure in the White House was extraordinary compared to the current mess loitering in the Oval Office, in my 20-odd years of following politics, I have never heard of a First Lady taking credit for her husband’s presidency.
I guess just being in the vicinity when important decisions are being made qualifies the Borg Queen for the presidency? So then, using Hillary’s (il)logic, the White House staff: gardeners, housekeepers, chefs and security, are equally prepared to run the country?
A very valid point Christopher.
ReplyDeleteI guess that is why even though on many occasions I helped my high school friend fix his car by handing him the tools he asked for, I still cannot fix a flat without making my SUV explode.
