Tony Snow 1955-2008.

Tony Snow, the former White House press secretary and conservative pundit who bedeviled the press corps and charmed millions as a FOX News television and radio host, died after a long bout with cancer. He was 53.

A syndicated columnist, editor, TV anchor, radio show host and musician, Snow worked in nearly every medium in a career that spanned more than 30 years.

Tony Snow was on the other side of the ideological fence from me and many, many others but I was moved by his public battle with this terrible disease and I feel badly that his life has ended at such an early age.

I certainly found him a frustrating White House Press Secretary and I remember yelling at my television when while appearing on "Real Time with Bill Maher" he stubbornly stuck to the administration talking points even in the face of overwhelming evidence that demonstrated that they were false.

Sadly Tony stuck to the Bush administration script until his dying day. I cannot help but wish that he would have said. "Hell I am dying let me just go ahead and tell you the truth about what is going on". But Tony was loyal to the end.

  1. I suppose I should feel badly but I don't.

Snow struck a deal with the Devil and blathered the neocon line about Iraq -- a conflict resulting in the deaths of more than 4,000 Americans and 1 million Iraqi civilians, including hundreds of thousands of innocent children.

    I feel nothing for him.

  2. I hope his death will remind people that once they turn 50 (or sooner if colon cancer runs in the family) that they should go for a colonoscopy. 53 is so young, and it didn't have to happen.

  3. Maybe it will remind the Govt WHY we need health Insurance...and that people with Cancer in their families NEED better coverage, and better care, and better screening - not to be canceled because of their medical history....

oh gee...was I whining about this again????

    gee, I wonder why...
