Barak Obama harnesses YouTube to speak directly to Americans.

I like it.

It feels like he is speaking directly to me and that he is asking for ALL of us to join him in making America a better place.

I think that Americans are not only willing to do that, but anxious to do that.

For too long we have sat on the sidelines and watched as our Government engaged in activities that we did not understand, and did not believe in, while telling us to trust them as they lied to us repeatedly.

The idea that Obama is going to tell us exactly what he is doing and why is like a breath of fresh air. And I hope that when these videos get posted that they have somebody on staff who reads the comments that come in and use future videos to answer any concerns or misunderstandings that may come up. That would seem almost like having a conversation with the most powerful man in the world, and that would serve to help empower us all.

  1. As of 11am on 11/15/2008, both comments and ratings for this video were disabled. I found this disappointing and hope this will change in the future. I agree with you that having staff read comments on videos would be valuable.

I think they might be afraid of winger attempt to skew the comments or ratings, but I can't believe that concerted efforts would last more than a month or so.

The video itself was pretty inspiring. Can hardly wait for Inaugeration Day!
