Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

John McCain gives first post election interview with Jay Leno.
"Did you expect Mavericks to stay on message?"
Well I did not expect them to fan the flames of racism and ignorance. Is that the definition of "Maverick"?
He also brings up that gas pipeline, that thing will soon prove to be a huge embarrassment to Sarah Palin. Though a "huge embarrassment" may be hard pressed to get noticed among all of the other "huge embarrassments" that seem to surround her.
Part Two.
Now see in this exchange John McCain seems like a very reasonable fellow. If he had manged to hold onto this part of his personality he my have done significantly better.
I mean let's face it, he still would have lost, just not by so damn much!

did you ever visit an elderly person in a nursing home? one whose family is otherwise too busy to make them a priority or they live to far to visit with any sort of regularity than Christmas or Easter? John McCain's comments of affection for Palin and her family remind me of visits I've had with the elderly. a hidden disappointment they'd never speak of, heartbreak they can't bring themselves to acknowledge, all hiding behind glowing compliments and various forms of bragging about what little news they've had the pleasure of savoring in brief notes left in belated birthday cards or short telephone conversations usually prompted by guilt. and for a man who once stood on such a prestigious legacy of service to his country, it's a sad thing to see. and isn't ironic that if he is to regain his appeal with Repbulicans, Democrats and Independents, it will be Barack Obama who will be the first in line to hold the door open to his return.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin definitely needs to be stopped - did you see her today with Wolf Blitzer - she is still going on about Ayers.
ReplyDeleteI feel like moving to Alaska and helping to get her out of office and out of politics forever.
