Sherry Johnston enters guilty plea in exchange for reduced sentence.

Sherry Johnston will plead guilty in July to a single felony count of possessing the prescription painkiller OxyContin with the intent to sell it, her attorney, Rex Butler, said Thursday.

In exchange for her plea, the state has agreed to drop five other drug-related charges against the 42-year-old Wasilla woman, who is the other grandmother to Gov. Sarah Palin's grandson Tripp.

The plea agreement was made public at a court hearing in Palmer.

The deal could include a reduced sentence, Palmer assistant district attorney Alison Collins said in court Thursday.

Butler said he is asking for a reduced sentence because of the small amount of drugs involved.

This is good news for the Johnston family and it is good news for the seekers of truth.

Good news unless part of the deal is that Sherry and Co keep their mouths shut about a certain governor's activities.

Hmmm... I guess her silence has been bought somehow - can be done with either $$ or threats of dire consequences if/when she talks...

  4. July? Do things always take this long?

Make sure to read the people article which says a team of lawyers (team?)

  5. This does not mean the judge won't give a harsh sentence. It is a little trick they use in AK. Get you to take a plea for one charge and then slam you with a harsh sentence. Also those "dropped" charges still appear on the court record looking just like the one you took the plea for. The judge often assumes you did the other charges even if you did not. Good Luck Sherry, I hope you get a fair sentence. At least you did not have a public pretender.

And there was no mention of that dumbA$$ DA who said He didn't approve of Sherry going 'out-of-State'..? I guess he did GINO's dirty work and then thought better of his career and took the foot out of his mouth so he could walk home.

I sure hope the Progressive blogs get together to do some demonstrations about GINO vetoing the money yesterday. How about on Independence Day..?
Would hate to ruin a good holiday with the family like that but it could be a family bonding thing.

July seems a bit long. Perhaps the deal Rex is trying to work out depends on what Johnston can tell them about the Palin's possible drug use. Maybe the FBI wants info from Sherry on Palin.

THere are many speculations one can come up with be we DON"T KNOW what is going on and likely will not until / unless Butlers feels it is in his client's best interest to do so ( Sherry and/or Levi) or if the info eventually helps destroy Palin's house of cards. I am thinking of how her home got built, use of drugs by Palin kids or Todd or Palin herself or any number of "gates" the FBI may be interested in.

Only time will tell on this one.

And: I dont fall for the "pain made me an addict" victim story. If she has pain that great, trust me, she would not be selling her meds, seh would be taking them herself. At $10 to $20 a pill, selling 10 at a time makes for a bit of extra money. AND WHERE DO YOU GET 10 EXTRA PILLS TO SELL 3X TO UNDERCOVER AGENTS, PLUS THE PILLS YOU ARE SELLING TO OTHERS AS WELL.

I hope the best for Levi and his son(s) but don't have a lot of feelings for Sherry. She is not a good mom !

If Johnston was set up by she who can not be named it will take a miracle to learn the truth. To the Palin Machine Johnston is small time not, likely they will be exposed there. However, you never know what will start to unravel her empire.

Johnston suffers from serious medical problems, scurvy and chronic pain from nerve damage stemming from pelvic surgery. The pain requires Johnston to wear an implanted medication pump, he said.

Stevens case was tossed b/c of the prosecution. Any chance we'll get to the truth?
How long did they get by using the teen drug addicts before they were caught?

As I understand Sherry's informants were underage. Friends of Levi and Mercedes in their small town? She sounds pretty far gone, all the pain and medicine effects your head. She must have watched her grandson the Today show, does she notice he looks drugged also? I doubt it.

  10. I saw them at the Palmer Fred Meyer yesterday and told Sherry and Mercede that I had followed their story and that I hoped everything would work out for them. They were very gracious and thanked me for my kind wishes.

If you google: New York Times Article Rex Butler Levi Johnston you get quite a bit of new info regarding the possiblity of a book by Levi. What is interesting is that Rex says that Levi has a whole lot of info that could change the 2012 election!!! It's a comin!!!!!
