I thought my earlier post was stomach churning but no anti-acid could possibly combat this one. Updated.

Billed as a children's book, "Help! Mom!" tells the story of two brothers who sell lemonade to earn money for a new swing set, only to have the "radicals" tax and regulate them into oblivion. Just when the obstacles seem insurmountable, "Governor Sarah" comes to lend a hand.

Sarah Palin helping children? Really?

Is she going to fake a pregnancy for one of them? Or keep them out of school so they can travel around the country to be used as props? Or is she going to teach them that faith in God will prevent conception?

In my opinion if you are buying a book for your child which suggests that they ask Sarah Palin or help, you are guilty of child abuse. No really, I think that might stand up in court.

Update: Currently Huffpo has the "11 Craziest Palin stories of 2009", guess which one is missing? I think they may need our help.

WTF, this is serious, isn't it? I cannot believe anyone would publish such rubbish. I guess it just goes to prove "anything for a buck."

How distasteful! Sarah is not a model parent, and anyone who thinks she is should be ashamed to admit it.

    View From Canada,

For a country, that according to conservatives at least, is exceptional, you sure are beginning to look more and more the fools. Your "If you're not with us, you must be against us" philosophy would be funny if it was not so sad. You finaly have a leader that is returning the respect the USA deserves, then you cut it down with paranoid radical bullshit such as this. How did your government suddenly become a bigger enemy than your enemies?

  3. Someone should write a children's book about lying and use her as an example.

Her kids have a no win situation:

Her response to a TMZ person who asked "what's the best thing a mom can say to her kids?"

She responded "Obey! That's what we say!"

So in a no win situation, they have to obey and stay out of school and travel as props!

Her response has a familiar tone to it - it may as well have come out of the mouth of Chuck Heath as Palin seems to have the money see, monkey do when it comes to her father.

Wasn't there some sort of dust up about Piper running a lemonade stand a while ago??

  6. The theme of that "children's book" is another textbook example of the REAL radicals "projecting" their off-the-cliff craziness onto us normal people of centralist/progressive persuasion.

    Obviously. :)

  7. The kind of parent who would buy this book for the kid is the same kind of parent who would have that kid's hair styled in a mullet cut.
I used to think there was nothing worse for this nation than illiteracy.

    Apparently I was wrong.

  8. Gryphen,
I find it strange that some people have such a very "limited" tolerance for what they do not believe in. I'm thankful everyday that I was raised by very liberal outspoken parents but they also encouraged all of their children ( nine of us!!) to explore other ideas, to bring home other ideas, to have family discussions and even debates about current events or ideas. To explore other religions, to basically expose US to life. To try and be diverse and accepting of others whoms beliefs were different.
I find it almost hilarious that some of these rightwnuts or evangelicals are so afraid of others beliefs, if theirs are so correct, why are they afraid that their children will not stick with those beliefs.

But my parents did have one rule that none of us broke, and this was the most prejudicial thing in our household. heres the rule "No dating of republicans while living under their roof" LOL! It may be the only rule we all followed!

I have taken the last few weekends away from anything to do with Sarah Palin, but apparently that is not working either because it takes me too long on Monday to find out even half of the idiotic, moronic views she shares with the world. And then there are the out and out lies. I am sorry to say that Anon from Canada is dead right. The fact that we have a president to be proud of instead of being embarrassed every time he opens his mouth or steps before a camera is just too much for them because of one reason. It's the "R" word. These followers of Palin, Beck, and Limbaugh are proud to be "dumb as we wanna be". But honestly this "book for children" is the last straw. I cannot think of anyone who is a worse parent that Palin. Just obey me and don't ask questions. Just like she expects her followers to do. If one could just laugh it off it would be entertainment, but I am convinced she is out to replace James Dobson rather than run for political office. Running for office is hard work. Not to mention that thin skin of hers. She wouldn't last through the first month of the primaries. But these right wing religious sheeples will believe everything that comes out of her stupid mouth. Plus, the biggest perk for $arah is she won't have to pay taxes.

They should put this book in the Wasilla library right next to "Pastor, I'm Gay" and "I Have Two Daddies." LOL

  11. To the previous Canadian poster. Don't be so hard on our pals here. America is exceptional...at least it was. It could be again. Lets not forget...Canada is exceptional too. We have a great country...we welcome immigrants....all good things. Since 9/11 though, we have changed somewhat too.

Our brave men and women are in Afghanistan too...and my one and only complaint is that it is hardly ever mentioned. Many of our troops have been killed or maimed for life. We have families missing loved ones...and children whose parents are fighting for something they dont understand.

Please my american friends....just once in a while acknowledge our presence there. We went for you.

For the storybook to be "true to life" does one brother lay off the other Nd out source his work to a factory in China? Then the laid off brother starts an investment company, gets the first brother to invest in it, then sell shares at inflated prices, declares bankruptcy and cries for a government bailot. The first brother gets his lemonade stand taken away in foreclosure. . . No wait. . . He sells it to some smuck who loses it to foreclosure. Meanwhile the two brothers are on the beach in Puerto Rico.

CR46 just described my upbringing to a tee. I think this is what's wrong with our society today. Children need to be challenged intellectually, not fed gargage like this book! They need to be inquisitive and have their questions answered truthfully.

As much as I detested the previous administration, I wouldn't portray them in this fashion.

I remember waiting in line to vote, and I asked someone why they were Republican, and he said "Because my family votes republican" He couldn't give me one issue, other than abortion.

The brothers get a government contract to provide lemonade to the troops in Afghanistan. They outsource it to a company in Turkey, but charge ten times as much as for US lemonade, because the cost of doing business is higher in Afghanistan.
A problem with the supplier causes troops to get sick, so they get a different supplier and have to charge the US government even more. Meanwhile, the brothers are still laying on that beach in Puerto Rico, getting rich.
Oh wait, that's not a fairy tale... that really happened.

  15. If the president's back to school speech provoked outrage and cries of indoctrination, this book should receive the same. This is way worse than the president's back to school speech.

To our Canadian friend: It's all about having an African American in the White House. IMHO, that is the main reason for their attitude and behavior today our president.
