Brit Hume goes on The Factor to plead his case to Father O'Reilly.

"Look I am not prosel...uh prostitu....uh prescrip....uh trying to sell Christianity to Tiger Woods. I am just saying that if he does not leave the Satanic cult of Buddhism and embrace the love of our savior Jesus Christ he is going to burn for all eternity in the fiery pits of hell. How is that considered promoting a religion? I just don't see it that way, and the members of my particular brand of Christianity don't either."

All kidding aside, I literally stopped this thing and thought, "this must be a joke". But no, this moron simply does not understand that he has used his network to attempt to convince Tiger Woods that he needs to convert to Christianity, and that then all of his problems will be over. Pat Robertson must have achieved a little "Christian wood" while watching that segment.

And there is dim bulb Bill O'Reilly egging him on.

"Hell no Brit, you are speaking the truth. Hallelujah, praise his name. Please send your cash donations to the Brit Hume "I am not proselytizing I am just straightening Tiger Wood's unholy ass out" foundation care of The Factor and News Corps." Cha-Ching!

This is absolutely made for parody. And you don't have to take my word for it either, because the Daily Show returned to the airwaves last night and they have a brilliant segment on this as well.

  5. They'll need to move Tiger into the infamous C Street townhouse to complete the redemption.

    Holy shitballs.

  6. He actually said: THE SATANIC CULT OF BUDHISM????

Typical Brit Hume spin. He said a moronic thing, had it pointed out to him and is now spinning his poor little me, I'm the victim line.

This Bill O'Reilly segment makes it clear that Brit Hume is only pushing Christianity for big-time screw-ups like Tiger Wood. The remaining Budhists need not make a bolt for Christianity.

Brit Hume is every bit as offensive as he intended to be. He is every bit as illogical as he intended to be. He is every bit as arrogant as he intended to be. BECAUSE he talks in code to his tribe.

This little clip is the very last time I'll ever hear the sound of Brit Hume's voice. I'll never read another word he writes. (Unless he converts to either Hindu or B'hai which offer him salvation.)

I am sipping on my instant coffee which is disguised in a nice ceramic Starbucks mug, as I read this and it certainly has started my day off well. :)

I didn't see the actual show with Brit Hume saying this, but my jaw did drop as I watched it hours later.

Years ago before news seemed (at least to me) slanted, I would watch Brit. I can't figure out if he is serious or if he is liking the publicity at the moment.

He is soooooooooooo fortunate he works for Fox because that may be the only company who would not reprimand or fire him for walking over the line.

My question is did the show continue with anyone on that panel referencing what Brit said? The snippet I keep seeing stops at the end of Brit's statement.

As for John Stewart and Stephen Colbert - LOVE THEM!!! They are the ones that make us all feel sane after seeing some of this FOX crap.

I was brought up on "That Was the Week That Was", George Carlin, The Smothers Brothers, Tom Lehrer, "Laugh-In", etc. I guess we have always needed something to help us make sense of and survive our present reality.

  10. Okay guys? That blurb under the first video is a joke. If I had actually quoted Brit I would have put it in italics.

He did not say any of that, but what he said was just as stupid and insulting.

    thanks for the clarification, gryphen.

there are some videos I cannot watch - can't watch anymore palin, can't watch rush or beck, and I can't watch bill o reilly. I suppose if I would have watched the video I would have known he didn't say those things. I guess I'll make a new rule for myself - don't comment if I don't watch the video.

If Tiger did become a Jew, he would immediately become the best athlete we've ever had?

    My circumcision just grew back!

    Yeah, baby!

  13. I only survived the first minute of the OReilly clip--it kept stoppoing and reloading. Maybe I'll get the rest of it later.

GREAT to have Jon back though, he's always an easy watch!

  14. Hope you all had a chance to catch Rachel this morning. She was one of the guests Andrea Mitchell had on. They did a very serious segment, first on national security then on the Uganda, the involvement of powerful US legislators and religious leaders, The Family. She was dead serious and oh so very good. She will have an interview tonite with a member of The Family. Not to be missed.

I am glad she is on the case of the evangelicals who are meddling and causing such serious trouble in Uganda. Now that they have gotten what they were driving for in Uganda, they are scared shi*less and will only most reluctantly come forward to sort of indirectly condemn what is happening.

Of course, the spewers of hate against all that is GLBT will not accept any responsibility of any kind for the proposed Ugandan bill. Were the he*l did they think this was going to go.

Rachel hit on the National Prayer Brfkst, hope she stays on this subject and causes the sun to shine on these evil hate filled monsters. Perhaps Obama will even stay away. We need to pay attention, Rachel will carry the ball but she is going to need our help.

It is obvious that what is in the Bible is right dealing with the name of Jesus. It will cause and has caused division. Just look at the comments. Hindu and B'ahai religions do not offer salvation that comes only through Jesus Christ. They offer dead ends. Look at God's word and see salvation is only through Chist. You can reply with curses and snide comments but if you truly take a look and examine what Christ offers there can be no other response but giving your life to Jesus.

anon 3:30 PM says "there can be no other response but giving your life to Jesus."

WRONG! I truly took a look. I examined what Christ has to offer. And my response was and is "I ain't that stupid".

    Your mileage may vary.

  18. Anon 3:30, actually consider the ramifications of that, of 60%+ of the planet spending ETERNITY being TORTURED. I did, and I nearly lost my mind thinking God was that cruel.

The Lord is not petty. He is above our angers. In His place, we might be offended by those who deny our existence, but He is NOT human. He is better than us. He only cares about the content of our hearts (Matt. 25:31-46).

God is unending love. You need to realize that.

Brit, Brit, Brit, what's your problem? Constipated? Three suggestions, Eat more fiber, go on Fox news or hop in a kayak and paddle hard.

Who made you the boss of Tiger (or anyone else)? Last I checked, we have freedom of religion, and Tiger's old enough to choose his own path.
