Lies, Hypocrisy, and Obama-hate, oh my! MSNBC covers CPAC.

First up Rachel points out the numerous lies that the Republican speakers disseminated to their adoring audience. She also points out that racism is still very prevalent within the party.

Next up we have Keith who points out that the Republican rhetoric is steeped in hypocrisy and
disinformation, and then discusses with Arianna Huffington how the GOP is trying to use the teabaggers even while they fail to earn their support.

Keith also took a moment to point out the amazing hypocrisy of the Republicans to bash President Obama over the "socialist" stimulus package while back home taking credit for the money it provides. Think Progress has put all of that into perspective right here.

The other day I found myself over at the YouTube's watching video after video of the speeches and behind the scenes footage from CPAC. I watched it with my mouth virtually hanging open as the most amazing BS flowed like water out of my speakers. These people seem to live in an amazing fantasy world where George Bush was a great president, and the country was perfect right up until Barack Obama and the socialist/fascist Democrats got their greasy hands on it.

After eight years of sitting with their mouths shut, they have suddenly become so agitated at the state of our country that they are compelled to speak out and demand that it be fixed. Except they are blaming the guy who just got here for the damage done by them and THEIR parties president, and then claiming that only THEY can fix it.

These are smart people making these statements. We know THEY know better. But they are counting on the average Republican supporter to NOT understand that. So essentially the GOP is counting on the ignorance of the members of their party to assist them in regaining the House, the Senate, and eventually the White House.

What must it be like to have such a low opinion of the people who you want to support you? And if you are Republican voter, how can you allow yourself to be used and abused like this over and over again? Have you no shame?

  1. Perfect - I've often wondered the same thing. I think some of the supporters know it's lies too - but the lies mask the racism (or so they think).

  2. I loved that fact that Liz Cheney looked scared to death that Rachel was going to ask a question of substance that she would only say a fleeting hello as she made her escape! Such a coward, just like her father. It does seem that the Party of Nope thinks their supporters are totally ignorant. Just the fact that they claim the stimulus package isn't working in Washington, and then making laudatory statements about all the job creation at home and handing out replicas of the checks is insulting enough. Not to mention the obstruction on health care and jobs. I am convinced that President Obama could discover the cure for cancer, attain world peace, global prosperity and 95% employment and the Rethugs would still find fault. They are so, so lame.

A man just flew his plane into an IRS building yesterday for crying out loud. This hate and disrespect crap about our President has got to stop.
