McCain challenger J.D. Hayworth just lost at least half of the Teabagger vote.

"Hey Bill, I view this entire debate as esoteric. It's as esoteric as arguing about the eligibility of Chester Alan Arthur well over a century after he served as president," said Hayworth, referring to the 19th-century president whose detractors would spread rumors that he was born in Canada. "Look, Barack Obama's the 44th president of the United States. His election was certified. I believe he was born in Hawaii. I made certain statements on the air to -- to provoke conversation. That's what happens in broadcasting."

Did Hayworth just admit that he only pretended to support the birther movement to get more listeners for his radio program? You can almost hear teabagger heads exploding all over Arizona.

So, . . . . like Sarah, he's a tea bagger in name only???? Or, like Sarah, he tailors his answers/viewpoints, depending on who is asking the questions or who the audience is???? Or, like Sarah, he has no convictions, other than making a buck by stirring up hate?? Or, all of the above??

I'm in the trenches in the AZ state. Really, the tea baggers here aren't in it for Hayworth because of this talking point alone. Do a Google search for "Frank Antenori light bulb bill"...yes, as in "Rep. Antenori is a dim bulb if ever there was one." Look. Arizona isn't nearly as overrun by these douche bags as McCain, Kyl, and Hayworth would have you believe. We've got some good guys here, too. Rep. Giffords. Rep. Grijalva, Rep. Mitchell. If anyone out there cares about defeating Hayworth AND McCain, check out Rodney Glassman's website. He's a good guy.

J.D. Hayworth is facing the great dilemma of would be conservative politicians, that Scylla and Charybdis of the GOP: do you suck up to the teabaggers and lose the popular election or dis them and risk losing the primary?

The trouble with teabaggers is that they are so damn loony that there is no single issue that will unite them all. Their idiocy is diffuse and covers the gamut of stupid. However, coming right out and dismissing the birthers is NOT a good strategy to win teabagger votes. The teabaggers’ only comfort is absolute lockstep conformity. They don’t do well with opposing thought. Hell, they don’t do well with THOUGHT.

The teabaggers’ only political clout is in primaries and then only in very conservative districts or states. They are politically impotent in general elections. Hayworth is getting an education in the value of drawing your support nearly entirely from paranoid morons. They aren’t too reliable.

How’s that dopey paranoid thing workin’ out for ya’ J.D.?

Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!!

Quick -- Toss a Dem in the Ring!
Bounce Hayworth & McCain in one easy shot!!

That was actually a smart political move for Hayworth because he needs the moderate Republican vote to win against McCain.

Maybe he'll lose some TeaBaggers with that statement but my guess is that he just gained a whole lot of mod Repubs who are tired of McCain but leery of the TeaBag bunch.

Is this the same Arizona where over the half the state--north of Anthem/AZ--has no coverage area(s) for most national health insurance companies?
Is he trying to provoke that conversation?
    ...nah!

Anon 8:38 - Arizonians really need to
pull op their socks & toss McShame.
    If that stinking natural supplement
act of his & Dorkins passes(currently in the Senate),unlimited access to everything from vitamins to healing oils will be over. Europeans have already lost the battle & look to
the US now for these products. I've
    spoken to various natural health
    companies I order from & they're
worried. I get wonderful wild herbal
    native American tea, healing salves
& many, many other things that are better than stuff off the shelves or prescription drugs with known & unknown side effects. However, if
    other folks are satisfied with
    traditional medicine, fine. The point
is we've got to be FREE to choose.

Also too, why,in 24 yrs. have the Democratic Party in AZ lain dorment?? & at present, have no viable candidate to challenge control-freak Mc-fill-in-the-blank??

McInsane is a disgrace to our State - unfortunately JD Hayworth is a criminal and should be in jail (well so should McInsane for the Savings and Loan Scandal).

There is a lot of stupid down here, but JD went back to radio because we bounced his ass from our 5th District 4 years ago. He reminds us all of Foghorn Leghorn in the cartoon, and he is a complete buffoon.

ALL health food supplements should be regulated - just because someone tells you something works does not mean it does - and many of them are harmful if not used properly. People are not aware of what they are putting into their mouths and there is NO regulation what additives supplements contain.

    RE: the Dems in AZ

Are you aware that McInsane just BARELY beat Mr. Obama in his own state? It should have been a walk, but it was an embarrassing when he almost lost his OWN state.

At this time, we currently have more Independents registered than Republicans and more Dems than Republicans. We are turning purple.

Look at our population (particularly in the past) - we are filled with OLD people, retired seniors who don't read or pay attention. Down here to get elected, you simply threaten gun control and everyone jumps.

Our population is gradually becoming more politically aware and we are working for people like Harry Mitchell, etc. But it's a long slog...

Anon @8:38 as posted earlier in this thread, there is a Dem candidate exploring a run against McCain. He is Rodney Glassman from Tucson. AZ has had other Dems run against McCain in the past, but this is a red state and McCain has lots of money and was popular until the last election. Check out http://www.rodneyglassman.com/

  17. Arizona has been such a frustration for me. Unfortunately I am stuck here until the crap economy recovers enough to get out from under my upside down real estate.

I have been wondering why, if the GOP is floundering between McSenile and Hayseed, the Dems have not fielded someone who can waltz in and take it away from both of them. If not now, when?

I am in Phoenix, which is mostly liberal, so it is always a shock to me that the state as a whole is so politically retrograde.

If Rodney Glassman has a shot at
ousting McShame, one fact he needs to
focus on is Mc's shamful treatment of
POW families. Possibly get a few testimonies from his fellow POWs
whom, from what I've read tell quite a different tale from Mc's version of
    specific events. That should liven
up any debates Mr. Glassman & Mc have.

Anon 8:38, Even though we disagree
re natural health vit./supp., I still
luv ya! I just feel we need to keep
our personal freedom to choose. And
big pharma sure doesn't have a good
track record protecting us. OK, let's
    move on...!
