To the editor:
Tuesday night I attended the Colony High School graduation ceremony in Wasilla. I was thrilled that Chuck Heath (father of Sarah Palin) would be the keynote speaker. Both my children had him as a substitute teacher and their days with him were insightful, educational and fun.
Chuck explained how he taught all his children to hunt, track and field dress game. Then, trying to be humorous, he said he was going to teach his daughter how to field dress a donkey this fall.
I was dismayed at the suggestion of evisceration of Democrats — a partisan statement that was supposed to be a nonpartisan night of celebration. Did Chuck hope that by giving a stump speech that mirrored his daughter Sarah’s views that it would increase support for her? What message was he trying to convey to the graduates?
The “speech,” reminiscent of a Christian revival, ended with Chuck demanding the “G-word” be integrated back into public schools and government. A celebration for the senior class turned into a political diatribe and was both disappointing and inappropriate.
I am guessing that Chuck was asked to speak because Willow is a student at Colony High this year. I would have thought that in the past, considering the rivalry that has existed between Palmer and Wasilla for decades, that he would not be their first choice. Of course after this he may never get asked by any high school in Alaska again.
What is it that Bill Maher said about Rand Paul last night? "The shit does not fall far from the bat"? Sounds fairly appropriate in describing Sarah and her dad as well.
Mr. Health's face reminds me of the woodchuck that I just saw in my garden. ... Sorry, but I simply cannot imagine this man being able to convey clear scientific principles to a class. Was he always a sub or did he actually have a regular full time teaching position ?? .. and I AM NOT referring to a full time position as a GYM TEACHER and Coach. Please, once and for all, was this guy a science teacher or not?? I know that he has a palace of antlers and that he may know a thing or two about taxidermy--but could he possibly know anything about neurons or neutrons??? Come on Alaskans-- give us the straight story!

Sarah, today was seen on T.V. talking about the clothes she was wearing,not being hers, and borrowed. Sarah Dear, we all knew that, by just looking at the length of the skirt. It was way tooooo long for lil' Sarah, who likes them short, and shorter hiked right up you know where.(the Christian women she is)
The great thing about this blog and others is that it has an international audience. Not everyone has access to or even knows about the local paper.

It is crucial to know that she seems to be a direct product of her family's shortcomings - thing is, though, she has perfected those flaws.
My bad, I didn't know that Sarah's dad's picture. I thought that was a picture of Sarah without her wig, without her bra padded and without makeup.

Let's leave Bristol alone, regarding her weight. That's uncalled for I think, you cannot jump to conclusions or judge someone by their weight. Hard to believe she would get pregnant again. It's really unfair to make her weight an issue.

ReplyDeleteAnon @ 2:25......I had Heath for my 4th grade teacher. That was the only year at Wasilla that my grades weren't great. Prior years and years after were fine, but with his teaching, I really don't remember learning much. Not a very strong candidate for teacher of the year in my opinion. I remember my grandfather and him going nose to nose over something he said or wrote on my papers once. It wasn't pleasant having to go back to his class, knowing that he was vindictive. And was he ever. I didn't fail, but if he'd had his way I would of. We had a good principal, and he was a family friend, so his crap didn't cause the trouble he wanted. Remember we had lived in Wasilla long before Heath arrived on the scene.

ReplyDeleteI suspect that Bristol is porking up because she doesn't get any real exercise, probably eats like crap, and is suffering from sparkly light syndrome like her mom did after the election. No matter what she SAYS, she's stuck at home with a toddler, except when she gets to escape to the big city. She's eating junk food on the couch while Tripp plays. I may not have a positive view of Bristol's brain power, but even she would have to be awfully dumb to get preggers in the middle of an abstinence tour. Unless she comes up with a catchy virgin birth story for her new speakers' bureau.

ReplyDeleteRegarding Bristol's weight 10:09 PM, it is not her weight as much as why is she porking up now? As a pro it is up to her to confront issues. I don't watch the programs that deal with teen pregnancies enough to be an expert. Don't they discuss the things that teens care about? Like health or weight? Before, during and after baby weight? If she was a pro speaker against bald heads but came out with a bald head and didn't mention hers, that would not fly. I'm trying to say when something is real obvious and it reflects on what allows you to command 15K to 30K as a speaker, it is best not to look like an idiot or a liar. Say something! If she came out and talked about her hormonal changes and say a craving for crunch wraps and a need to watch her diet, that would be better than not getting out in front of this story.
ReplyDeleteWhat teen girl, no matter how thin, doesn't ask "Do I look fat in this?" That is when it is vital for Bristol's handlers to be honest with her. They need to tell her and help her prepare for how to handle how she looks. She claims to have a family that supports her every way but financial. Not one of them cares to have a talk with her and make sure she is out in front of this story? Americans are overweight, it matters with Bristol because she may have gained weight 2 to 3 times due to previous pregnancies, no one has any idea who all the fathers could be. She is a role model for children as young as Piper, it is not the time for her to be careless about herself and lazy with her job.
Whatever it is with Bristol she shows signs that should be of dire concern regarding her health and must be addressed. If it is only that she goes up and down in weight, the extremes that have been documented are enough to send an alarm. She is in some serious trouble, is it the time to be the world famous abstinent-only representative and a top class speaker on that subject? If it is, she must address what people are seeing. She sure did not get in shape this year as she did last year, why did she not prepare this time? Another problem with Bristol is that she is part of a family that is known for their connection to what could be the biggest hoax. Fraud and lying seems to be their game. Everything she does will be viewed through that prism, that is just the way life goes.
There is nothing she can do about inheriting Chucks weak chin or body type. That part is just too bad, that may have to do with her mid section growth. She has to work twice as hard at preparing for an abstinence tour. Her weight will be a number one topic until she comes clean about what is going on and that she is being treated for over eating or what her problem is. Bristol will never be left alone about her weight until she can come out with a plausible story on what is going on with her. There are many celebrities with weight problems and they are well liked and not much is made of the weight. Bristol can become a celebrity like that when she can face up to her reality.
Chuck is just a creep and I am disappointed in the school that would allow that disgrace.

Why are we fixated on weight? A size 12 is not fat. Bristol is not preaching about diet (to my knowledge). She is preaching about howmuch your life changes with a baby - something that works best coming from a peer. We have no right to criticize her weight. IT is very common to lose a shitload of weight after a pregnancy. My best friend had twins at 22, was a size 10 before and was a size 6 two weeks after their birth. 3 years later, she's a size 14. Too many uncontrollable factors affect weight to harp on her. She looked fine at the TIME gala. Her Candies dress was obviously a mistake. Im sure she learned. All celebrities make bad fashion choices. Theyre criticzed and we move on. I have a feeling she's on birth control because that's usually what it does to you. She blew up in all the right places. Remember Christina Aguilera and her comments on her weight connected to BC?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I know she advocated abstinence on Oprah and has mentioned it, but at the last Candies discussion, she DID NOT say that abstinence is the only way to go. Now, she frequently mentions birth control and tripling up on it. She's simply using her celebrity to help teach teens that they will regret having a baby in high school. Something that should be admired, not scorned.
Because let's face it: as long as her mother's in the spotlight (I predict another 1.5 years at least) she will be as well no matter what she does. Why not use it to help reach teens. Teen moms have already said they're glad she's doing it.
and just because a person is famous doesn't automatically make them a role model. This is in reference to Tiger Woods' backlash and the like. People who idolize others they do not know personally are generally stupid for it. Admiring what the person is known for and the person are 2 VERY different things.

If she is abstinent and porking up for legitimate health reasons, that is one thing. The public would understand. If she is porking up because she is on birth control, she needs to be honest about that. She may have only looked pudgy in the flower dress but two weeks later she looks fat at the Heartbeat Foundation. To make things worse, no one told her how ugly it is to slouch.In this May 18 picture she does look fat, being too lazy to care about her stature doesn't help. If she can't afford decent handlers, she will go on looking fat and ugly. I'm sorry but someone who cares about her does need to tell her so she can improve. Your real friends tell you when you get food stuck in your teeth. The haters are the ones who let her make a fool of herself and target children.
I wouldn't have a problem with her porking up, talking about life changes or being obese if she was forthright, clear and honest. As a deceiver she is only teaching and role modeling bad things to the most innocent and trusting. There is a special place in hell for people like that. Any teen Mom that wants their children to be fooled is an idiot. It is sad that parents care so little for their children.
Why is Bristol Palin's weight fluctuating now? That is a legitimate question in this situation. An honest answer is imperative. Bristol Palin is messing with very young minds.
Bristol Palin's body is talking for her and it says one thing AS SHE SAYS ANOTHER. I think what she is doing is a con job and the frauds should be run off the stage.
The Bristol Palin situation is not about weight. Her weight is notable because that is how her mother introduced her to the world. Remember the RNC convention where she looked like she was a nursing mother that was stuffed into a dress? The family must have noticed her body and thought it was more important to show her in that wardrobe mistake. As it turned out, they said she was pregnant and not nursing.

It is true that gaining and losing weight is part of how much your life changes with a baby - that is what Bristol can talk about in her interactive interviews. Especially, if she is getting paid several grand. She needs to cover everything and not do a half ass job.
There can be many uncontrollable factors affecting weight, it could be a thyroid problem I suppose. Many of Bristol's peers have concerns about weight and I hope Bristol is not going to cheat them out of an honest talk about that part of life changes.
Since Bristol is a closed up person, that makes her a dismal role model, I don't know how you know she learned it was a horrible mistake to wear that flower dress? She is closed and said nothing about that.
Bristol Palin has been all over the place and confusing everyone by saying abstinence is not realistic and changing to abstinent-only. I can't keep up with all the times she changes. She did back pedal again and say that people need to pause. She has not been direct and clear when she makes her switches. Cons play games like that. She is worse than most because she is targeting children.
The May 18 Heartbeat Foundation, where she looks even more blown up and does look fat, is pro-life and not in favor of the pill. I don't know how mixed up her interactive interview could have been, but that is an abstinent only crowd. If she was on the pill and tricking the Heartbeat people that are paying her thousands of dollars, that is not right. It could be criminal. She also needs to address the fact that she is having sex without marriage if she is on the pill.

3:44 PM ---- Money won't guarantee that your plastic surgery doesn't go wrong, but it helps. Slipping chin implants can be the kiss of death. Liposuction can be deadly as well. If she travels, as she is accustom, the cost goes up. She will need to feed and bed her entourage. She is out of shape and needs time to recover in a luxury suite or resort.

It's funny you all have so many negative comments about Mr. Heath, considering probley none of you are alaskans or went to colony high school! Well I am a life long Alaskan and when I was in school I had Mr. heath many many times over the years. We all enjoyed having him he is a worldly, intelligent, inciteful man. And for all of you "Palin Haters" they did not get Heath because he is related to Palin... They got him because he is very respected and loved in the Matsu School district.
