Sarah Palin endorses Terry Branstad in Iowa gubernatorial race and the sheep are losing their flocking minds!

Lately Palin has turned into an endorsement machine, handing them out like handfuls of candy corn at Halloween.

You would think that Sarah would stick to the script and endorse candidates that love the Constitution more than their own mother, hate taxes with a fiery passion, and ABSOLUTELY loves them some teabaggin!

But instead Sarah has adopted a rather eclectic method of choosing who she will endorse, and who she will pass over.

My personal theory is that Sarah just throws a bunch of campaign buttons on the floor and  whichever one Trig picks up and puts in his mouth is the one that she "gifts" with her "Sarah Palin Seal of Approval".  (Of course if history is any indication that probably means their campaign is doomed.)

However she decides, her choices have often resulted in a fury of condemnation from those who believed that she was just like them (You know, rich, mean, and crazy!).

And this choice of Terry Branstad in Iowa is no exception.

Just check out some of these furious remarks from her Facebook page.

Mark Thompson-I figured she backed McCain because she owed him a favor so I gave her that one. can't figure out how she owes brandstad any thing. W.T.F.?

Janet Hanson Luiken Sarah - We are so disappointed with your endorsement of former Gov. Branstad. It was the nail in the coffin to a true conservative, Bob Vander Platts endorsed by the local Tea Party. Iowa needs a change from the liberal/moderate policies we had, and will have under former Gov. Terry Branstad. We are extremely disappointed in your endorsement, because his views and governance is nothing like yours. We did have some hope, but your endorsement was a crushing blow. We have a son and granddaughter working for Governor Sean Parnell in Alaska, and have followed closely how a State can be properly governed by YOU and Gov. Parnell's policies. How do we get you to change your endorsement??

Aaron Gunsaulus-This endorsement is beyond bizarre. There is no possible way you or your staff could have investigated the candidates in this race. For any true conservative this race is a no brainer. Bob Vander Plaats is the absolute "model" of what you say you stand for and Terry Branstad is the absolute poster boy of the RINO "good old boys" that you always gave as a reason to go to Washington and "shake things up." I mean, this is not just wrong, it is stupid. Real, real, real stupid. I don't know how endorsements work, but this thing needs to be taken back and taken back now. Granted, a lot of us Iowan's are stupid, but not this stupid. Endorse the only real principled conservative in this race who polls already say can and will beat Culver, Bob Vander Plaats. It is never too late to "Do the Right Thing."

Johnny DeRaad-Sorry, Sarah. ..on this one you made absolutely the wrong call .. .please reconsider ...looking for the Alaskan spirit of freedom, standing alone, and gov't get outta my way in Terry b is like looking for a clean beach in Louisiana right now!! Tain't there. .. .gov't as usual with t.b.

Lauren Stephens-Sarah, I use to be a huge supporter of you, but it seems as if you are falling into the "politics as usual" category that you condemned so much throughout your book. Very disappointed in you.

Larry Smith-I have long been a Sarah Palin supporter. I made sticky and magnetic "Sarah Palin for President" signs at a tremendous cost since I had only a few of each made. BUT NOW - WITH HER BRANSTAD SUPPORT I AM TAKING THE SIGNS OFF MY CAR. They don't go with the Vander Plaats signs anymore. I am so very disappointed in her. I had thought she would be the Margaret Thacher for America. It is obvious the wrong people got hold of her and she swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

Ahh! I just love the smell of broken Palin-bot hearts in the morning!

Alright that was kind of mean.  Listen up all of you people who still think that Sarah Palin is going to do something good for you, or for this country, SHE IS NOT!

Look I know I have made fun of all of you in the past, and I certainly look forward to doing even more of it in the future. But just hear me out and you can save yourself a lot of heartache.

Sarah Palin only does things for Sarah Palin.  She uses up and casts aside EVERY SINGLE PERSON who allows her to do so.  Believe me if, and when, Meg Stapleton and Ivy Frye write their books, they will say very much the same thing that I am telling you now.  Sarah is a spoiled child who never learned to put the needs of others ahead of her own.  Oh sure, she can fake it, but it is not real.

Hey I know you don't want to believe me.  After all in your eyes I am a "Palin-hater", a "Trig Truther", and a member of something called the "Alaska Mafia" (Whatever in the hell THAT is!) However I suggest you bookmark this post, becasue if you stick with Sarah Palin long enough, at some point you will come to the realization that, despite all of the terrible things you think about me, I was the one who was telling you the truth.

The guy already has a double digit lead over the person he opposes. Could she be thinking that she is betting on a winning horse and can look like she picks winners over weeners and that the conservatives won't support Lisa as per her request?

Personally, I think Sarah is being paid for these endorsements. Sarah never does anything without a reason. Those reasons are typically 1) to be mean to someone she hates or 2) to make money. So that's the rhyme and reason here--the ca-ching of her cash register. Not sure who, exactly, is paying her. The dog eater, perhaps? Murdock? Whoever the Decider is.

It would be interesting to see the lead diminish because of her endorsement.

  5. She's backing Branstad in the hopes the he will back her in the Iowa caucuses. Or maybe they've already come to an agreement. Either way, this is a move with an eye on 2012.

You really, really have to wonder if she's getting paid for these endorsements. Let's not forget those famous words of another unethical politician-turned-celebutainer, Blago:

"a fucking valuable thing, you just don't give it away for nothing."

Seriously, someone should really look into this.

    From the facebook comments
Irish Rose I'm starting to believe those who say she will support anyone if they pay her enough. I am over her, she is not a true conservative.

  8. Why are the Palin fans so surprised? After all, Sarah is that mavericky gal, always doing what they least expect at the worst possible moment.

It is FACT that Palin will show up and give a speech for a candidate that will pay her big bucks to do so.

Sarah Palin is in this for money - make no mistake about that. Palin is for Palin. Period.

  10. Andrew Halcro's blog has an interesting story about Gov. Parnell and his cutting the Health Care budget for kids.
It seems his excuse is not true, he knew about the funding of medically needed abortions for years, but it is election time and he needs his 'conservative creds' an tea party approval.

Which makes me think that Sister Sarah also knew, and if she didn't,she should have right???

How do you think her buddies are going to react when they find this out? Makes endorsing the 'wrong' candidate seem tame then funding abortion, don't cha think??

What about her friend in SC? If another extra marital accusation surfaces, what happens to SP credibility?

In this case, Palin waited until a couple days before the election, and decided to endorse a candidate who is well ahead in the polls.

What courage! What a maverick! What a rogue!

When he wins, I'm sure she'll send out a tweet or 2.

Hope the 'bots & -bags soon realize about $2.00 out of every $100. they donate to her pac actually supports "a" candidate, of HER choice.
    Wake up before 2012!

Currently, I am reading "The Man Who Sold the World" a critical evaluation of the Reagan admin. I mentioned the other day on Malia's blog that both Palin & Reagan have quite a few similarities on their journey in the political arena. As I deeper into the book, his presidential policy of "deregulation" - less government control & rules over the private sector... sound exactly like a Sarah stump speech. When "they" say she is the next Ronald Reagan -- I believe "they" mean it!

Bought, paid for and entirely scripted by American corporations.

She isn't running in 2012! If she was, she wouldn't be alienating her base.
It's all about money with Scarah
Slowly some of her followers are getting it, but she's going to milk them and this situation until the very last penny is in her pocket.

The bots are truly delusional - the comment "his views and governance is nothing like yours...[do they realize she QUIT?] We...have followed closely how a State can be properly governed by YOU and Gov. Parnell's policies" [Oh right, the kind of great governance where the budget master keeps $750K for mansion maintenance, but cuts Denali Kid Care]

I have to ask this question and hope someone can answer it. With every Palin endorsement is Palin actually taking the duct tape off the SarahPAC checkbook and giving them any campaign contributions. After all, that is the premise of her PAC isn't it? Is she putting her money where her very big mouth is?

Does anyone know what SarahPAC's second quarter take is with the donations. I bet it's down from the 1st quarter. I'm beginning to see the gold veneer slip off this grifter.

  17. Why is Mr. Obama not being held more accountable for the oil leak. Bush was heavily criticized for Katrina (as if he built the levees with his own hands).

Okay, I literally choked on some of the palinbot comments cited here. I'd just come in from yard work, sat down to cool off, sip some water and read the blogs.

When I came across Janet's remark that Iowa needs "a change from the liberal/moderate," I should have known what was coming, but no, I kept on sipping my water. Therein lies danger. Never read palinbot remarks while trying to swallow.

My first sputter came when I read of Janet's disappointment - We are extremely disappointed in your endorsement, because his views and governance is nothing like yours."

Goodness, she should be grateful, not disappointed that someone would not govern like Sarah! Obviously, Janet has not done her homework.

But what almost choked me to death (literally) was when I read how Janet and her family are working for Parnell and "have followed closely how a State can be properly governed by YOU and Gov. Parnell's policies."

Properly governed? Like taking cookies to starving villages, making victims pay for their own rape kits, or cutting funds to provide affordable health care to mothers and children? Where in the world does a person get the idea that this is the proper way to govern?

I learned my lesson - no more sipping water while reading palinbot comments - maybe something harder afterward but nothing during the act. Their stunning stupidity can cost people their lives.

Gryphen, I have already commented on this post, so please excuse me if I go off-topic for a moment, but because you are an educator, I know you will want to know about what is happening in Arizona.

Here is the headline from HuffPo that has my husband and I stunned and outraged:

"Arizona Elementary School Will Whiten The Faces Of Its Own Students On A Mural Because Some Racists Yelled At It"

OMG - why are they changing? Why not demand the racists stop their tirades?

This uber-conservative, racist BS has got to stop. It simply must. This is so senseless!

arizona glass wants to blame the President for the BP oil spill, comparing it with Katrina-Bush. OK. Let's compare a well-forecast and predicted seasonal hurricane with the consequences of corruption and collusion between Big Oil and the Bush Administration.

And tell me again, which one is PRESIDENT Obama to blame for?

Gryphen, why do you continue to post the C4P sh*t?

    ReplyDelete
  24. mommom4:30 PM

What exactly would you have PRESIDENT Obama do? I have yet to hear a coherent explanation of what exactly he has not done ,that he should have. The expertise is in the hands of the oil companies, not the Federal Gov.Fact of the matter is,the only way to actually stop the leak,is to drill the relief wells .That is being done,it just cant be done any faster than it is progressing. The attempts at capping the well in various forms are bandaid measures at best, designed to divert some of the flow. The damage is done.Nothing will be the same in the Gulf for a very long time.Whats left now is cleaning up beaches and wetlands as best they can.State Governors will have to request help.Unless you now want the Federal Gov to run roughshod over States rights and take that over.

Right wingers--Smaller Government, less taxes, but dont touch my Social Security.
Government health care is the end of the world, keep your hands of my Medicare.
No government bailouts or subsidies ,leave my Congress womans farm subsidies alone.

Smaller Government, less oversight ,clean up my beach, subsidize my flood insurance on my beach home, clean up the billions of gallons of water in the Gulf NOW so I can have lots of jumbo shrimp for low prices.

Hypocrites!! They deserve Mrs PAYlin. They should move to one state somewhere and set themselves up with her as "Exalted Leader".I volunteer my state of Louisiana,as I am leaving. She can use her great knowledge and leadership abilities to clean up the mess from her husbands previous employers, those "Foreigners!"I can see poor Tawd now,"If we just get enough "fish pickers" out their in small boats and let them scoop it up with their hands....""Oh Damn!!We cant use Texans!! Fish Pickers cant be born there!!" "Sarah, baby, fly on up to Alaska and birth us some fish pickers,it only takes you what,6-7 weeks?"The relief well will be done by then,we can do the clean up with our fish pickers, then we can set Track up as the head of a corporation called FP Oil Clean Up ,Inc.""

    Yeah,Hopey Changey stuff.

Arizona glass, I know you are incapable of getting this, but you are comparing apples and oranges. Katrina was a natural disaster. If the government didn't step in, who would??? This however is the fault of a private company. Shouldn't they be responsible and held accountable? This is BPs expertise. BP is not a public company. It's really telling that NOW conservatives want big government.
Your question was so stupid I don't know why I bothered to answer but put on your thinking cap and look at the obvious, ok?

This is on Palin's facebook, they are pretty mad. Must read.

My name is Russ Saffell, I am the Communications Director for the Des Moines Tea Party. It has come to our attention that you have endorsed Mr. Terry Branstad for Governor of Iowa. The Executive Committee of the Des Moines Tea Party discussed this in last night... See More’s meeting. We all concluded that this endorsement has been made in error. The Des Moines Tea Party respects your involvement in the Tea Party movement throughout the nation; however we feel that you have strayed from your principles by supporting Mr. Branstad. We have been recognized as one of the top 7 best organized Tea Parties in the nation by the National Tea Party Patriots. Yet your decision to back a candidate for Governor in our state without even consulting with us is appalling!

We have dealt with Mr. Branstad before. His record speaks for itself. An ounce of research would have shown you that he is absolutely wrong choice! I have inserted a must read article written by Steve Deace who hosts the afternoon drive program on WHO-AM in Des Moines, Iowa, where Ronald Reagan was the station's first sports director. The article is posted at: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/apr/27/branstad-barnstorms-again/
