You know I think the new Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government reform might be a retard. Thank you Ann Coulter for making THAT word okay again!

From CNN:

"I think people misunderstand the meaning of the word corrupt, and obviously, CNN does. 'Corrupt', or 'corrupted' or 'failure', it's no different than a disc drive that's given you some bits that are wrong," Issa said on CNN.

Issa continued, "I have never said it's illegal. I've never made any of the statements that are often said on CNN that implied wrong-doing of the president at a criminal level, but I do believe that the American people have changed the control of the House in no small part because they saw more regulation, more misspending than they ever dreamed possible and they need Republicans to be part of the balance to bring that back under control."

Is it still considered back pedaling when you trip over your own feet and fall on your ignorant ass?

I think this new Republican majority is going to go down in history as "the gang that could not shoot straight."

Where was this guy during the 8 years of Cheney/Bush reign?? Oh, yeah, he was busy breaking the law and weaselling his way out of charges. The repubs. really know how to pick 'em, don't they? Each one gets dumber than the last, and THAT is saying something when you have Palin in the mix.

Nice try, but a POTUS is not a computer file OR a piece of meat, so "corrupt" means what everyone KNOWS you meant in the first place.

When I was in kindergarden my best friend loved to eat molding clay on the sly (we made it ourselves so it wasn't toxic). After a while he started eating it out in the open cause he'd never been chastised (he hadn't been caught yet).

Issa and the modern day GOP are toxic clay eaters who think its okay to be that way out in the open, now. I think we should let them keep eating clay until they get to sick to do anything else.

O/T but this is just delicious!

...However, thousands of Alaskans hold a different view. Those of us who've actually lived off the land are less than impressed by Palin's televised exploits and, more important, by what they tell us about her. Tentative, physically inept, and betraying an even more awkward unfamiliarity with the land and lifestyle that's supposedly her birthright, Palin deconstructs her own myth before our eyes.

...But the story is in the story. All but Dowd seemed to miss the boatload of delicious allegory about Palin's life and politics wrapped up in the episode. It was Palin on the hunt; on the hunt always. First, it was small-town politicos in Wasilla who befriended her, then GOP Chief Randy Ruedrich, then Frank Murkowski, who appointed her to a cushy job, and finally, a shot at Barack Obama. Older white men carrying her guns, loading them and handing them to her, advising her, telling her when to shoot, showing her how to do the job. Letting them do the work. Out of her element. Indoor girl in an outdoor world. Missed shot after missed shot after missed shot. Blaming someone or something else when it all goes south. Killing a scrawny little caribou to sell the image. Jumping the ship of state after only two disinterested, unengaged years, going for something bigger. Out of her element. Peddling the lie. The mama grizzly. Sarah the Sniper.

Issa has a criminal background and has been arrested more than once. Car theft, possession of a firearm, suspicion of arson. And this is the guy who calls Obama corrupt?

Issa had better watch out. Democrats might start a rumor that he's a Muslim. After all, he is Middle Eastern.

Last night as I was preparing for about three hours of reruns of Weeds I noticed, to my horror, that TLC has Sarah Palin's Alaska on from about 5 PM until 11PM. Don't they have any other reruns to put on? When you consider SPA was probably the beginning on the end for her & her family of deviants she was probably underpaid.

The only thing good about these asswipe Rethuglikans being in charge of the House, is that it will exponentially magnify the level of stupidity that these morons are capable of.
Then the next step is for the hopelessly retarded followers of the Rethugs to notice this fact.

No, moron, what you don't get is we're ALL fucked if we can't elect competent people who have the best interests of the American people at heart, instead of corrupt ideologues craving power. You don't like Barack Obama, okay. But he is still our leader and the Rethugs have a responsibility to work WITH him to improve conditions in this country. We are fucked because pinheads like you have an "us or them" mentality, which by the way, is about as un-American as you can get.

  16. Issa's inability to define "corruption" is remniscent of Clinton's difficulty in defining "is". The difference is, Clinton was lying to cover a serious personal error; Issa is lying to cover his hate-filled, racist character. Bill only wanted to screw Monica. Issa wants to screw all of us.

Just an observation to Anon @5:42

If I hear one more of you asshat Limbaugh acolytes parrot that blowhard's loathesome "manchild" epithet for our president because you don't have the balls to say "boy", I do believe I will finally despair of conservatives ever being able to get their collective heads out of their collective asses.

  21. This guy was elected in Obama country. My hometown. And most of us aren't buying the "Obama must go" crap. Yes, it is a fairly red area, but it is California. And I promise you, he has received more threats of recall if he doesn't fly right then you can believe.
I for one plan to keep up the pressure. And as a part of the Democratic party here, we are looking for a nice retired military lawyer or something to take this guy OUT in 2012

OT but I had to chime in that the "manchild" statements sicken me. I choose to believe that this is one morally bankrupt individual who trolls this blog. Gryphen, I understand that you likely allow some of the comments so we get a taste of the more "tame" racist responses, but maybe it is time to "protect" your readers. The racists/bots can exercise their right to free speech *elsewhere*. Nowhere in the 1st amendment does it state "Hateful, unpatriotic racists are lawfully required to have their say on Gryphen's blog." If you were to disallow the "manchild" posts, I think we all will be aware that the posts/emails are still being sent.

It is ironic that Republicans say when referring to a President who won by a wide margin, "He's not MY President!" yet Bush actually lost the popular vote in 2000. In 2004 Kerry chose to not contest in Ohio, though there were "voting irregularities" and he quite possibly was the true winner in Ohio, and thus of the Presidency. The argument could be made that he actually was/should NOT have been *our* President either for four, or ALL 8 YEARS. While many Progressives felt the election had been stolen, the vast majority of us still viewed Bush as their/our President. We were able to look beyond "the hanging chad" and the fact that the Supreme Court *awarded* the Presidency to a man who lost the popular vote and whose supporters had behaved unethically. Yet Republicans cannot see past what they view as wrongdoing- that America dared to elect a non-white male. We see past your birther, "He's a Muslim/Arab" meme, along with the completely baseless allegations of voter fraud. The real issue is race. Our President is black, and you just can't stand it. I pity you.

    Cheers,
    A white churchgoing Christian

(A great article on the recount. How different would history have been if Gore and/or Kerry had had a legal team as good as Murkowski's?!)

Like Sarah Palin Issa needs a dictionary.

No only do words like corrupt and retarded have multiple meanings but the context of their use implies the particular meaning.
Human beings are not hard drives.
Or is Issa's brain too corrupted and or retarded to realize that.

See Issa context is sooooooo important an indicator of what you mean.

I agree that much of what we see Repubs and Tea Baggers saying and doing in public, that is so nonsensical, is what they have reenforced with each other in closed door meetings.

Like a bunch of drunk frat boys planning a prank that they think is funny but is really illegal or very harmful.
Since there is no adult to tell them that it is a bad idea, or point out repercussions or unintended consequences, they act the plan out and sometimes horrible things happen as a result.

Who are the adults in the Republican Baggin' party? Sarah? Newt? Rove? Bush? NA?

He's quite the popular guy. Since Alan Simpson and Dick Armey, I don't think I have wanted to punch anyone in the nose so much as Darrell Issa. I hope he doesn't prolong his inevitable augering in, because I seriously cannot stand this odious turd.

    Anon @ 5:42,
Anytime someone like you invokes "man-child" when speaking about PRESIDENT OBAMA it's because you know that if you use "boy" or the N-word, there is no way you can deny your racism. Guess what? You still can't. There is no way in hell that you'd use "man-child" to describe any white man who had his résumé. It is about as clever as calling him Kenyan. Thus, it also paints you the buffoon.

Additionally, you hurl your racist turds over the transom anonymously, so you are also a sniveling coward.

Let's see, you're a racist, a moron, and a coward. Congratulations, you've hit the dumbfuck trifecta.

You might want to at least cut an air hole or two in your sheet before you wear it next time. As stupid as you already are, you shouldn't risk depriving your febrile little brain of its full supply of oxygen.
