Yes I know that you are thinking this MUST be a parody. But nope!
And no your ears are not deceiving you, one of the voices in that ad indeed belongs to ex-Godfather's Pizza CEO, radio host, and now candidate for the GOP Presidential ticket, Herman Cain. Which raises the question, "Is it possible for a black man to be a racist against his own people?"
The ad was put out in 2006 by a group calling themselves America's PAC. And they were trying to..to..hell what were they trying to do?
Well here let Herman Cain himself explain it to from an interview he gave to the New York Sun:
"The main thing that America's Pac is up to is it basically is challenging the thesis or the belief on the part of the Republican Party that they cannot attract the black vote," Mr. Cain said. He said similar advertisements run in 2004 helped boost President Bush's share of the black vote in Ohio to 16%, from 9% in 2000.
"We don't believe that was an accident," Mr. Cain said. The IRS filing indicates that the ads are running this year in 10 battleground states, including Ohio, New Mexico, and Nevada.
Mr. Cain, who once managed the Godfather's Pizza chain and ran unsuccessfully for the Senate from Georgia in 2004, said he was not troubled that Mr. Rooney, who is white, is funding ads using black voices who claim to speak on behalf of the black community."You don't have a lot of black billionaires who would want to fund something like this," he said.
Gee, ya think?
You know I have to imagine that the NAACP feels toward Herman Cain about the same way that women's organizations feel toward Sarah Palin. They just want them to go far, far away.
TOTALLY O/T, but maybe aomething for Levi to consider (asking for support from Bri$tol for HIMSELF), since Bri$tol supposedly will be moving to L.A. :

Wait. What? Was there a message in that ad? WTF?
ReplyDeleteJust as the term "self-hating Jew" applies to Jews who vehemently reject their history and their faith, so too could it apply to ANY minority...so, yes, it's easy to see that Herman Cain could be a self-hating Black man.
ReplyDeleteChill out a little Jesse. You're starting to not make sense anymore and this obsession is going to kill you before it hurts Sarah Palin. Consider seeing a shrink for you problem.
ReplyDelete{Singing, in a bad imitation of Cindy Lauper} "Money...money changes everything"
ReplyDeleteThe soul of THIS black man has been carved out and cast aside, thanks to his riches.
You wonder how he can look at himself in a mirror, but I'm afraid when he does, the "real" him, is no longer looking.
Maybe I should be thankful that I never got rich.
Cain is what my great grandma called a slave catcher.
ReplyDeleteHe can suspend belief that a black man with his millions is accepted by the GOP ergo so would the rest of us flourish within the party.
The Party of Lincoln is dead Herman. They are called Democrats now . . . .
Stephanie Miller was ALL over this last week on her morning radio show. Considering that she has one of the best voice guys in the business--Emmy Award Winner Jim Ward--they had to laugh at the obviously white guy trying to sound "Black."
ReplyDeleteSeveral callers had a few choice things to say about the ads as well. It is insulting on too many levels.
Regardless of who the GOP nominee turns out to be, the main problem is with their ideology more than it is with the potential candidates, although they also have their own problems. Cain has chosen to align himself with extremely reactionary folks like himself, and being black is not going to help him with most of us blacks. What matters far more to me than someone's race (Cain) or whether the candidate seems reasonable (Huntsmann, Romney, or Pawlenty), they cannot alter the fact that the GOP has been taken over by lunatics that the prospective nominees have to pander to. I wouldn't even vote for any of them as dogcatchers.
ReplyDeleteWhat is REALLY hilarious is the belief by this douchebag, that he has any chance at ALL of being tagged as the Republican candidate.
ReplyDeleteHalf the country is so dead against Obama, for the colour of his skin, that they don't allow themselves, for ONE MOMENT, to bask in the glory of this Kennedy-like president...and to think that they'll accept a different black dude simply because he calls himself a Republican, is the height of absurdity.
Sarah's really happy today!!!

Hi, Bekka:
ReplyDeleteReduced to trolling for attention.
Again.
You do know those photos of you were leaked by sarah, don´t you? She is dumb enough to think by being off the continent and in India at the time will prove her innocence.
But did she have to select the harshest and most unflattering photos of you available? No, but she did.
And she enjoyed doing it.
Didn´t you, sarah?
(Btw, sarah, look in a mirror. We see the same thing you see - have a good day.)
Baloney on rye, served with weak tea
ReplyDeleteMedia pundits and reporters have a wonderful ability to repeat nonsense often enough so as to start to believe it. Here are some examples:
Palin for President
Myth:
From the NY Times: Signs Grow That Palin May Run. If only we could be so lucky. She's going to be on visible tour this week, which is a sure sign she'll get some media folks to gush over her.
Reality:

Fox News poll: 57% think Barack Obama will be re-elected
ReplyDeleteIt's a funny thing. The economy isn't so great, and people are not thrilled with America's standing compared to four years ago. Yet, whether it's the Obama got Osama effect, or the incredibly shrinking GOP field (Pawlenty is officially in and Daniels is officially out, though neither was true during the poll) Obama's job approval is at 55% and most people think Obama will be re-elected.
Despite having a common opinion that the United States is in worse shape than it was four years ago, 57 percent of Americans widely believe that President Barack Obama will be re-elected in 2012.
According to a new Fox News poll , this number is about double of the 29 percent people who thought so in December.
And the 36 percent of voters who don't expect him to be re-elected is a major shift from the 64 percent who felt that way earlier in December 2010.
We saw something similar in the Politico/GWU Battleground poll last week: economic jitters but stronger than expected numbers for Obama.
The president’s strong approval ratings are buttressed by the 59 percent who said they will either “definitely” vote for the president or “consider” reelecting him. Thirty-eight percent “definitely will not” vote for the president’s reelection — giving Obama a higher ceiling of support than his Republican rivals would hope to see.

8:48, Ohiovoter, thank you for that reminder. Bush never won an election. He was appointed by the Supreme Court and then rigged Ohio in 2004.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing Republicans do is scream loudly. The Supreme Court appointment was a classic example and again since President Obama was elected. They've screamed and howled with the Koch Town Halls and Fox News as their megaphone.
The GOP knows they are in trouble in 2012 and they are going to try to make voting as difficult as possible. Watch for it.
it's "Cain."
ReplyDeleteThere will always be blacks, hispanics, gays, muslims, etc who will try to fit in by going against their own. It amazes me every time, but allen west, herman cain, michael steele are just the classic uncle toms. It's not just a money thing either cause there are plenty of wealthy minorities who would never do what these disgraceful characters would for a little head rub from the tea party people!
ReplyDeleteI still don't get the ad.
ReplyDeleteIs he encouraging blacks to kill whites instead of themselves?
Is he telling gang members to stop killing each other?
Is he implying that the Republicans don't eat their own like the Democrats do? (When it is exactly the opposite?)
Is he implying he raises marijuana and doesn't snuff his own marijuana tobacco but buys his snuff from a different dealer?
The problem with such an ambiguous statement is that it is left up to the listener to interpret what it says. And any way it's interpreted, it isn't good.
Once again, the party of NO is offering up a candidate that is totally unsuited to the office.

ReplyDelete¨I don´t snuff my own seed¨ means he doesn´t believe in abortions.
Things that continue to come out daily in the U.S. just make me sick.
ReplyDeleteWatching Palin get all the attention via the media also makes me what to barf. Her movie coming out will be lies as to her governing in the State of Alaska. She IS NOT an expert on oil and gas and was proven not to be while in her 'quitter' position.
Amazing that John McCain came out today and said she could beat President Obama. Amazing!!! Guess the Republicans (some of them) have to 'act' liked they'd back her?!!!
Shameless opportunist!
ReplyDeletehttp://palingates.blogspot.com/2011/05/sarah-palin-shameless-opportunist-rides.html
Whatever, be it Herman Cain or Michael Steele, conservative blacks are as unpalatable as Newt, Mittens, TPaw, Sarah or Michele.
ReplyDeleteMcCain saying sarah could beat President Obama in ´12 is the worst thing he could have done for sarah, and he knows it. Fox and her bots are putting tremendous pressure on her to announce.
ReplyDeleteIt is ¨put up¨ or ¨shut up¨ time for sarah.
She is beginning to fear the pressure to run as much as she fears actually running.
As said before on this before, we in the black community can smell bullshit a mile away and Cain is a stinking pile of shit!
ReplyDeletePalin's Short Bus Tour
ReplyDeletehttp://twitpic.com/53t4ry
Check out Sarah the tongue picture at palingates; also Scarah on back of bike in picture at politico, the caption under politico picture says daughter Willow is driving the bike. The woman driving is really a big woman and the comments say NO Willow even there and that Bristol was not riding a bike as someone reported.
ReplyDeleteIt also says that Todd got them lost this morning on the bus; these people are stupid indeed.
Bikers were furious that Sarah dived in and the media sent photographers, Sarah had about 200 around her. Sarah had on a big leather biker jacket and had to take it off cause it was so hot.
"Whatever, be it Herman Cain or Michael Steele, conservative blacks are as unpalatable as Newt, Mittens, TPaw, Sarah or Michele."
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with your comment. I see nothing that the republican party has to offer minorities and just because you have made it, doesn't mean that you are one of them. Lest you forget where you come from or some day, you may find yourself right back where you started. Who will need the helping hand then?
It pains me that republicans are always touting "pull yourself up by your boot straps" or whatever but they forget, they too had a helping hand along the way...directly or indirectly. It is pure selfishness and arrogance to think "I alone" made my own way to the top. Forget the parents, siblings, relatives, and family friends that helped raised you. Forget the teachers that taught you, employers that employed you and the friends that you leaned on when things weren't so great. Nope, I did it all by myself.

That ad is disgusting. I would think he would get an enormously angry response.

Which would make sense if Cain could actually get pregnant.
I kinda like the marijuana interpretation.
