Laura Novak interviews doctor who dissects the infamous CBJ doctor's note and talks about the strangeness surrounding the newborn Trig.

The interview is VERY interesting, and touches on a number of bizarre things about the pregnancy, the note, and little Trig.

Here was my favorite part:

LN: So, what, if anything, leaves any doubt or questions in your mind about this letter?

DOC: It’s a rather bland, routine medical letter as it should be. I have no idea why the “FP” at the end of FAAFP is in different color. Not sure it means anything. The three things that strike me as unusual or suspicious are Dr. CBJ resigning from active status at the hospital shortly after Trig’s birth, the amniocentesis, and the fact that Trig’s birth date is not given.

LN: Let’s talk soon about the photos of the alleged newborn Trig. I have some thoughts about them but more importantly I’d love it if you could offer your own perspective as someone who has specialized in the care of high-risk and medically fragile newborns and children.

DOC: I assume you’re talking about the photos of him being held by friends and family, looking chubby and pink? I don’t see any jaundice in those pictures, nor do I see the normal “plethora” (or ruddiness) that most babies have in the first day or two of life. He also looks too chubby for a newly born baby; at least a few weeks old, but definitely not a new 6lb, 35 weeker. That looks more like one of those babies they use on soap operas who is 1-2 months old playing a newborn.

LN: Thank you, Doc! That comment alone should get everyone’s juices flowing. I’ll try to pull together the photos and we’ll dissect them.

I don't know about all of you, but that last part pretty much guarantees I will be gong back to read the next update.

One thing I noticed the baby's head is real round. usually there is some dents or uneveness in the head the first day or two. It is funny thaat there is not a picture of her and trig just after birth like most people take, with her looking worn out.

  4. That is not a 42-year-old postpartum mother either. The hemodynamic shift of fluids in a pregnant and postpartum woman is obvious. Everything is swollen especially in older ladies who are lacking the elasticity of youth.

I've never considered myself a conspiracy theorist but I believe this woman is batshit crazy and wouldn't put anything past her.

  5. Okay here is a funny scenario.

My 7-year-old peeks over my shoulder, looks at the picture Gryph has up here and asks whose baby is that? I reply that I don't know and she replies I think it's Bristol Palin's.

Hahaha, from the mouths' of babes...

That is one goofy, skanky photo of the half term governor with Trig.

Yes, the last part verified what I'd always thought. That was not a newborn presented by the Heaths.

The chubby baby pictures are what get me every time. My now-healthy 12 year old son was born at 35 weeks weighing 5 lbs 14 oz, and he did not have a shred of baby fat on him, not to mention the fact that he was on a respirator, with i.v. medication and under the bili lights for 7 days in the NICU.

  11. I suppose it's not really related, but his comments make me think of Bristol's Greta Van Susteren interview, where Sarah barges in with the baby and carols "here's your bundle of joy!" while Bristol's face looks like she's thinking "oh shit." I thought it was odd that Bristol was never seen standing up, and I remarked at the time, and have several times since, that the difference between a seven-pound newborn and a nine-pound two-monther aren't that great- a two-monther is still capable of being carried wrapped in a blanket like a newbie. Most people can't tell the difference in weight. I thought Bristol's baby, somehow, was born about six weeks later than she claimed. I still think that.

I have no idea how they faked out Mercede, but I think either they faked her successfully or Mercede was under some coercion.

GREAT interview! Can't wait til the next installment. That pic of S'error is really freaky. She seems to be sticking her neck out really far and it makes her head look HUGE. That is the smile of a madwoman, too...completely devoid of happiness.

  13. I really dislike that picture. It's never about the baby, it's about Sarah and the baby.

  14. Anonymous10:59 AM

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Sarah didn't give birth to that baby. I've always believed Bristol is his mother, and I still believe it today. People talk about switching babies, but I don't buy it. The main reason the truth hasn't come out is because they kept it in the family, except for a few key people like CBJ.

  15. Isn't this picture from the baby shower, which IIRC was held in early May? It's not the picture of the Heath's in the hospital the day of the "birth" nor the pic 3 days later with Sarah back at work.

  16. I mentioned once before that as we look at these again and again, we see more...and, seriously, what "mother" is wearing a black suit and pearls to take a photo with her "newborn!"

As I recall, it was weeks before I was out of sweats or whatever I could throw on...and pictures were not allowed...since (many of us may not want to admit...) but it was tough to even find time or the energy to shower... (and I had two kids...not five.)

  18. I knew it! That baby held by the Heaths was a stand-in. I never believed it was "premature" Trig born from Sarah's womb after the wild ride and then inducement. If the scenario Sarah described really happened, that baby would have been delivered Caesarian and in an incubator. And tiny, thin and red-faced with marked Down Syndrome features. There was such a baby in my family and we all knew it the minute we saw her just after she was born. Long before the days of amnio and untra-sound.

I was pretty surprised to see the article "Was Sarah Palin done in by the Trig "birther" story?" featured prominently on the SF Chronicle's homepage this morning. It's by the horrible conservative writer Debra J. Saunders, and is the first mention I've seen of this story in the mainstream.

So I was rereading one of Wiegel's articles in Slate, and in it it is claimed that Steve Quinn "called Palin's doctor, Cathy Baldwin-Johnson, who had personally induced Palin's labor in April. Baldwin-Johnson called him back several days after the Republican convention ended in early September. Quinn asked her directly if Trig was Sarah Palin's baby. "The doctor flat-out told me it was Palin's child," he recalled."

Isn't she lovely standing there with that baby! If she doesn't look lovely to you then it's only because you don't like her politics. How many times have you seen an ugly politician and then all of a sudden seen a handsome or beautiful politician morph out of that ugliness? Well if you have then you will know that the reason is that you and the politician's politics have come into agreement. This is why it's superficial and phony to keep on about Sarah's appearance.

The problem is, she's a fucking liar and a phony because she is not the mother. Stick with that and you'll be more credible down the road.

  23. As someone who's always taken the Devil's Advocate position that the baby could have been a newborn, I'm especially interested in what the doctor will have to say.

Gryph - The photo you included with the post confuses things a bit. Why not add one of the photos from April 18, 22 or 23?

Sarah's whole story comes down to CBJ, as the professional in this. Apparently, 'Trig,' had to be claimed by the Palins on the day Sarah
said he was born, having been born elsewhere of a different woman. Ma-Su
    hospital was the pick-up location.
The baby the Heaths' are photographed with is obviously older than a newborn. It's doubtful even they know the truth & just showed up when Sarah
called & said 'she'd' had the baby.
CJB isn't going to talk, so where does that leave us? NOTE: If the birth mother had no way to keep him
for a month or so after his birth, it
would've involved bringing foster parents into the mix - not a good idea. Palins' had to be installed at
Ma-Su for the pretend birth & Heath photo op. Probably not more than CJB,
Sarah, Todd & the higher-up at the hospital who arranged the private room
for Sarah to 'receive' 'Trig,' are
in the know about this. No giant conspiracy at all. "Trig's' real B-day is on his birth certificate, & she
    can't release it.

If I walked out my door now, and told the first 20 people about Palin's fake pregnancy, the people would not have a clue what I was talking about. - This should be headline news. - A person who was a candidate for second place to be-commander-in-chief; who is totally lacking in scruples is fair game for the major news channels.

The next round of questions should be addressed to Sarah's appearance right before she was supposed to have given birth, and immediately afterwards. Most women, even the most fit, athletic, super abs women have a hard time squeezing into their non-pregnancy clothes immediately after giving birth. Sarah returned to the office three days later wearing the same clothes that she wore before Trig appeared on the scene.

I'm writing to agree with anon 10:37, my kid was born 4 weeks early, and she did not have any fat either. The baby builds fat during the last weeks of gestation. The photo of Trig show a baby who is too fat to be 5 weeks early.

My own five week premature infant was a lovely shade of red with yellow undertones, scrawny, wouldn't eat, and needed to be put under bilirubin lights for a week. He also had to stay in an isolette for 4 days - no one got to handle him except dad and I and the nurses. There were other noticeable signs that he was premature besides being scrawny. I don't see any of those premature signs on Trig. Sorry, that child does not look like any premature infant I have ever seen.

  43. Gryphen, you posted the picture of Sarah holding Ruffles. He was the baby borrowed for the shower because he was so much smaller.

The doctor Laura was interviewing was talking about Trig, the baby Sally Heath was holding in the hospital on April 18, 2008.

Can you also post the other picture the doctor is talking about?

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anonymous5:15 PM

In the picture used with the article, that is not a recently postpartum, breast feeding, middle aged, muiltiparous woman.

It is a scrawny middle aged, flat chested slim hipped woman. Sarah's breast, or what is pawned of as them these days, are bigger and hang higher now than they did right before and right after she supposedly gave birth.

That kind of medical miracle of "rising" middle aged breasts should happen to all of us aging females.

Hey Gryphen, double dog dare you to try to find a male aide to X Gov Sarah who saw her leaky, engorged postpartum breasts under cloth, to claim as proof that she had been pregnant.

You'd win a Pulitzer or something not very closely kin to it.

FP - Family Practitioners, are not LICENSED to bring at risk infants into this world. Supposedly Trig's DS was known beforehand. NO Family Practitioner would have felt competent to handle a DS pregnancy or a DS delivery, and for one to have done so, would be malpractice.

Also, there would have been a pediatric specialist present at the birth, to care for Trig alone. This has never been mentioned.

That's why I think it important to find out exactly what doctors were on duty that night in Wasilla. That can't be HIPPA protected info, it's simply a fact. A fact that would put all this speculation to rest, if it were found the CBJ was not present, nor that any pediatric specialist was on board. Why has no one looked into this?

Laura's journalistic style is brilliant! I read each question, how she carefully chose her words and framed them got precice, concise, and informative answers from the doctor.
I have to agree, there is no way Sarah gave birth to Trig(s). Everything was too perfect, too planned, and too photo-ready. The letter in God's word is more damning than CBJ's letter, but CBJ's willingness to put her career on the line for Sarah, and her choices and silence since are perplexing.

For the record, HIPAA is a pile of bullcrap. A thin curtain seprated me from a total stranger, and we both heard discussions about each other's birth experiences from all the doctors, nurses and staff. Even the visitors in the hallway could hear bits and pieces.

Does anyone believe for one second nothing leaked (excuse the pun) about this hoax yet?
