By the way seeing the boys side by side like this makes the argument that both are the offspring of a Levi and Bristol very hard to swallow. They are both cute kids, but to me there does not appear to be a great deal of similarities between the two of them. Even putting aside the facial features that are the result of Down syndrome.
However I really DO see a striking resemblance between Tripp and Levi as a child.
Levi was a cute kid, and so is Tripp.
Others have suggested that Tripp favors his mother, which is somewhat harder to determine since she has so dramatically altered her looks as illustrated in these pictures of her arriving at Fox and Friends on June 26th.

It looks like Bristol changed her clothes before she did her softball interview, as you can see for yourself below. (This by the way is the segment where Bristol accidentally told the truth about whether or not her mother knew if she was running for President.)
Listening to Bristol bash Levi sounds even uglier now that Mercede has told us that virtually everything she says is a bunch of bullshit.

I don't think you can tell anything by what a child "looks" like. No one would ever think my two daughters are related, they simply do not look anything alike. The fair green-eyed red-head resembles great aunts on her mother's side, the darker, brown eyed brunette is the picture of her Italian grandmother at the same age. "Looks like" just doesn't cut it.

Sarah would never fake a pregnancy unless the truth about his origin was worse than being caught in the deception . Both Levi and Bristol have blond hair/blue eyed genes in their families, and their kids could wind up with pretty much any combination. In my own family, my brother has two blonde haired blue eyed sons, and a brown eyed brunette daughter. My older son has sandy brown hair and green eyes, the younger one has dark brown hair and eyes...coloring and facial features really mean nothing, especially considering Trig's DS.

My first thought was that TRIG looks very much like Levi, even with his DS features.
As for the two not appearing to be siblings: I'm part of a Métis family (mixed Cree & white blood. Métis is a Canadian word.) My sibs and I are about 1/16th Cree, comparable to what I've heard that Scarah's kids are.
My brother's two kids have the identical colouring of Trig and Tripp: Their daughter is dark-haired, blue eyes, dark complexion, and their son was born very white, with white-blond hair and blue eyes. Now that they're 19 and 17, you'd still never guess that they are sibs.
Recessive genes are funny that way!

ReplyDeleteMy children are twins and are as different in looks as these boys are. One twin small, slim and dark haired, the other taller, curvier, lighter skin toned and ligher hair color. My aunts who are also twins look completely different, each one resembling another sibling more than each other.

I don't live near my ex and everyone, I mean everyone, says that one of my daughters looks exactly like me. I see this resemblence but when she visits her half sister those two could be the twins - they look exactly alike!

But there are some people who are so obviously related you can see the genes being passed on. I look so much like my mother that one day we were in a store and I looked in teh mirror and I did a double take - I saw of me (for about 20 sec.) On the other hand, my brother doesn't look like anyone (well, he looks like an uncle, but not particularly like either parent).
Looks can't determine anything, but they aren't always irrelevant.
Tripp looks like a combination of Levi and Chuckles -- and he is a cute kid just like his dad was.

DS or not, there is a ton of therapy that can be applied to correct Lazy eye (amblyopia) - or outright surgery. Why is Trig's case so severe?
ReplyDeleteI suppose he could really be fighting his patching or other therapy, but we wouldn't know since having a DS child seems to be a textbook breeze in a Palin household as opposed to real world households with special needs and premarital teen mothers struggling to care and keep their family together.
Neat note, a family I see once a year has a DS child about 7 now. When Sarah was rolled out with special needs creds, they outright hooted and hollered to support her. They thought special needs was going to be represented in an influential politician who knew what it was like to face the challenges they struggle with every day. They no longer believe in Sarah anymore.
To tell you the truth, this is actually something that does not make me proud. She let them down, as much as she let anyone else down that believed in her, her potential to turn this unearned and unprecedented access to power into something useful and worthwhile, the way she did.
I really think Trig looks like Levi...hands down...and Tripp has (what used to be) Bristol's face.

ReplyDeleteAs for "Trig, he looks like just about every other person I've seen with Down Syndrome. I used to work with a variety of disabled folks at a sheltered workshop, and you would swear every one of the Down kids were related. They looked much less like their birth families and much more like each other.
We even had a set of twin brothers, adopted, and their sister, also adopted. Although the boys were not biologically related to their sister, they were often mistaken for triplets.
Upshot is that "Trig" manifests Down features, so he literally could belong to anyone.

Hell, at least we know ONE of the Trigs is still alive. Although the photo makes one recall how Trig was a GIANT "four month old", more the size of an 8-9 month old at the RNC...yet Tripp towers over him to the point he had to lean many degrees for this photo.
ReplyDeleteI disagree re facial similarities. It's only the coloring which makes you think that. Look at the two smiles ONLY, the two sets of rosy apple cheeks ONLY, and the eyebrow shape which is very distinctive and virtually identical.
I think Trig is Bristol and Levi's, evidenced by Trig's coloring matching L & B perfectly. Tripp is the child of Bristol and someone fair skinned/blue eyed...OR a CBJ/Franklin Graham rent-a-baby.
Levi and Bristol were married by Sarah. Once Trig was born with DS, Sarah co-opted him, justifying it by saying "the kids can't possibly handle THIS..."
Once the reason for being married was no longer an issue, Sarah used her gubernatorial power to annull the short lived marriage.
And THAT is why Sarah freaked so bad when Chinstol told her about the second pregnancy- they'd done ALL this...marriage, adoption (in spirit if not legally), annulment...and then just as Sarah is about to lock her bony, grubby, written-on hand to the political brass ring...Bris-troll shows up waving the stick: "you took my first baby but you can't take thiiiis onnne!!!"
How this fits in the Cast of Trigs, I do not know. I was searching for Trig Palin on flickr and there is a photo montage which shows the use of several different children...and the side by side comparisons allow you to see that some of the Trigs do not look remotely similar...it's actually offensive to me that she thought she could pass off these night and day looking babies as the same person.
When Levi told VF that Sarah kept bugging he and Bitch-tol to adopt their baby...they *had* to be talking about Trig. Sarah has a special needs baby of "her own", she was already facing heat for doing a shitty job governing, she knew she was about to embark upon a whirlwind tour of grifting via memoirs, faux news gig, etc...yet she would compromise all of it to "adopt" a newborn baby, giving her two children born inside of one year (allegedly) with one of them being profoundly vision and hearing impaired/Down syndrome...?? No way. Sarah "adopted" Trig from Bristol and Levi.
Concerning Tripp, I would like to point out, not at ALL in a malicious way...Tripp looks remarkably similar to how Mercede looks NOW. NOT saying it's her baby. But it opens the door to me for Tripp being a sibling of Sadie.
Sadie called Ruffles "baby brother" and never satisfactorily answered why. Sherry made pointed, obvious mentions of a hysterectomy to several media outlets. What if, instead of having it 8-10 years ago...she had it during or after the cesarean birth of Ruffles? Mercede's captions would make sense and Levi tenderly cradles his baby brother for the last time until he is turned over to the Palins- something Sarah came up with upon hearing that Sherry had given birth to a DS baby. Sherry agrees as she is broke and doesn't want this sickly child to suffer for lack of money or benefits, etc. Also, The "Trig was Tripp before he was Trig" scenario...Ruffles is the key to all this, I KNOW IT. IF a doctor repaired that ear, we should be able to locate him/her in short order.
Whew, sorry! Further and further down the rabbit hole, I know!
My (fuzzy) understanding of what happens with liposuction, pertaining to Brisket's face: If a lipo procedure is done too dramatically or unskillfully (not blending the area in with the surrounding tissue), then any fat gain in the entire area will result in the lipo'd spot remaining flatter than the newly fattened surroundings.

Tripp looks older because his head is a smaller percentage of his height than TriG's. Baby's heads are about 1/3 their total height. As babies grow up, their head becomes a smaller percentage of their height, regardless of how tall they are.
3. But I suspect I'm reading tea leaves - especially since who knows which TriG this is.

She should have quit when she Quit on Alaska's Independence Day, taken the $$$ for her lame book, maybe posed for Hugh (he'd have airbrushed her anyway) and gone to some compound in Montana and become elusive and only let people hear form her a couple of times a year. My idea would have been smart, but then "SP" and "smart" are mutually exclusive words.

Bristol sounds really nervous through out this Fox interview. I'm not sure if the 3 person format made it too difficult for her to lie convincingly, but she came off rather poorly in the interview. If the objective was to get people interested in her book, she failed miserably! News Flash for iticians daughter than you are Bristol... Meghan McCain has her own identity. Bristol is the one who is totally defined by her mother. Of course her mother isn't a politician because she quite her job, so Bristol isn't technically a politicians daughter. She's just a media whore and grifter that uses politics to get attention!

I've seen pictures of Trig in which I think he looks like Levi does now. In the picture posted, it's hard to tell because of the Down Syndrome features. Maybe he looks a little like Sarah, but if he were Bristol's, that would not be surprising. My son looks very much like my mother, and my boyfriend looks quite a bit like his grandfather.
If that is truly Trig, then he looks so much better and not quite as DS as before. This comment might get some laughs but I am having a hard time explaining what I mean.

The end of June in New York, temperature is in the high 80's to low 90's and she has a jacket with TWO shirts on underneath, a scarf, jeans and boots that are appropriate for fall and winter weather. ReplyDeleteI watched as much as I could of that interview but had to turn it off. Steve Doocy is a joke and for him to ask her how much she hates the father of her son?? Her answer: I don't think I can say that on TV. Now as for Levi bashing the Palin family, the only time he said anything negative about them on TV was when they would not let him see Tripp when he was a baby. He did speak about them in an article but I firmly believe he was telling the truth since so much of what he said has proven to be true as time has passed. He only said he lied because he was still in love with Bristol and hoped that would bring them back together. The real lies are from the Palin women.

Also too, the DS child has severe crossed eyes which I know for an absolute fact, Dr. Robert Arnold, THE SPECIAL NEEDS OPTHAMOLOGIST in Alaska every concerned parent takes their child to, would not allow to go untreated. The vision issue is obviously being ignored, left untreated.

ReplyDeleteAnon 4:10 - You're having trouble relating to Sadie's answer but please know that is perfectly satisfactory and understandable. As a teen, I looked at my sister's boyfriend's family in the same way and can imagine writing the same captions. Don't limit Sadie to your experience.

ReplyDeleteYou really shouldn't say things like Trig couldn't be the child of Levi and Bristol because he looks different from Tripp. I was platinum blonde that age and my brother and sister had very dark hair and skin. You can't always tell by looking. And some kids look nothing like their parents.

There are eye muscle surgeries that often are successful for kids. Sarah should have/could have had them. By the way this DOES run in families so ......
I had my first one at 2 and then 2 more at 10 and 12. My eyes were completely straight after that. There's no excuse for Trig not wearing hearing aids and glasses. He will have a harder time getting used to them now and a crucial time period for language and speech development has passed. If he hasn't had regular therapy and adjustments of these devices, that is child abuse.
Sarah COULD have done so much to advocate for kids like this. Has she?? No! All over the country funding is being slashed for the developmentally disabled like Trig.
Even the Democrats in California had to slash funding.
We have to keep the rich rich and the corporations fat. Why should they pay the same to taxes as us. They ate the job creators after all. Yeah sure and who believes that? Sarah?? Lol

ReplyDeleteI agree...I have family members who live in NYC and I talked to one of them on Sunday and he was telling me it was brutally hot...and she is dressed with two shirts, a jacket, long pants, hooker boots and that really really stupid looking scarf! What kept her from falling over with a heat stroke!

ReplyDeleteI have questioned why Trig was already standing up and apparently walking in the early Dec 2009 pictures in Hawaii with Palin. At that point he would have been (officially) only 18 months old. DS kids don't usually do this until 22-24 months old. Which would have put his birth closer to early 2008, not April or May.

Since people are commenting that Trig, in this photo, doesn't appear to have the protruding tongue as in the past, I did some research.
ReplyDeleteIt is common, usually expected, that DS kids will have an enlarged tongue. Apparently this can lead to poor dentition, speech impediments, and even sleep apnea. The effect of having a lolling tongue and "mouth breathing" can be severe and permanent, not to mention unpleasant to look at.

That particular page is kind of "neanderthal" in its handling of DS kids, but it does address a multitude of physical characteristics common to DS people. Yes, even though Trig is older than Tripp, he will most certainly ALWAYS be smaller.
Check it out, then check out other DS sites which address physical abnormalities. One site said that the tongue reduction surgery can be performed as young as 3 - 6 months of age. Perhaps Trig had surgery in the past year, which might explain his long absence from the public eye. Just a thought.
Is this the same Trig that we've been seeing before? He looks different. And, he appears much shorter than a child who is supposed to be a year younger. How many kids have been cast in the role of Trig?

way back at birthday cake party I pointed out that one of the TriG's had extremely short legs - it was not the same TriG as in the couch photo, his legs were heavier and his eyebrows and facial features were coarser.
Looking at those pictures of little Levi and Trig does nothing to undermine the idea that the two are related.

This beautiful boy either has a milder form of down syndrome, he's shorter than Tripp and seems healthy and happy, which makes me glad, or he's not Trig at all. The shape of his head isn't the same, he doesn't have the thicker muscle mass and weight issues a lot of Down syndrome kids have.
Can it be possible there's yet another "prop" Trig we've never been introduced to?

If a person has one blue (recessive) and one brown (dominant) gene, that person will have brown eyes.
If two people with a recessive blue-eyed gene have a kid, that kid has a 25% chance of having blue eyes.
In order to have blue eyes, the kid needs 2 recessive genes.
Both Bristol and Levi have blue eyes in the family, likely/possible that they both have a recessive blue-eye gene.
If they don't BOTH have it, there's no chance for them to have a blue-eyed baby.
Having said that - I don't think that kid is Levi's.
Levi was perhaps the only one stupid enough to admit it might be his.

And glasses are the same. I can tell you have have never been around or worked with children with special needs. And they don't need nannies or caretakers, they need heavy duty daily therapy and education. Any decent therapist or educator would emphasize the importance of sensory input from hearing aids and eyeglasses.

Because she is his grandmother? I look nothing like my mother, but exactly like my grandma. Showing family resemblance means just that -- perhaps they are related.
At the risk of sounding ignorant, because I am sure that parents of DS children can readily see differences, if you put 5 dark haired DS children together, wouldn't they all show a resemblence to each other because of the features related to the syndrome? I just don't see a particular "Palin" feature to him other than the dark hair- everything else says DS to me. I'm sorry if that sounds offensive in any way.

And...like others here...my grandsons don't look like brothers. One is white-blonde with oddly colored aqua eyes.
The other is dark-brown hair with also oddly colored eyes- like a luminous golden brown with flecks of green.
Other than both having those uniquely colored (beautiful) eyes, nothing about them looks related. Not body type, hair texture, skin tone, facial features, etc...
And yes, we happen to have needed blood tests for them in a matter unrelated to paternity, but we now know that my son fathered both. Lol. (Not that we ever wondered. My D-I-L is great)

It is absolutely impossible for two blue eyed parents to have a brown eyed child, since blue IS recessive.

i have not read all your posts but really think everyone is missing the point by trying to figure out who each child looks like which adult. The reality is that neither child looks like the Trig paraded out on the Republican National Convention stage. Look at the differences around the mouth. They do not go away with age. IMO this is a different child.

Also, too, DS means you will not have a defined bridge to your nose. And your ear lobes are attached with no defined curve as you'll see in most people.
And to the person who mentioned finding the surgeon who (allegedly) did ear surgery on "Ruffles"...impossible.
That particular ear deformity would NEVER be touched by any surgeon until the child is a MINIMUM of 4 years old.
Please people focus on the real issue1 The child on the left is not the child who has most often been presented as Trig.

Bristol Palin, the daughter of 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, was in the Birmingham area Tuesday night to sign copies of her memoir.
The Birmingham News reports that about 50 people were in line to meet Palin when the book-signing began around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
About the children, all we know is that SP did not give birth to TriG.
A tubal, and cauterised after Piper.

Those who continue to argue that two brown-eyed people cannot have a blue-eyed kid... must have went to the Sarah Palin school of science.
Those who still find it blockbusting! that Tripp is taller than Trig, also must have forgotten how to use Google to research the impact of Down Syndrome on the stature of one with DS.

ReplyDeleteadorable picture. My 13 yr old DS nephew looks exactly like his 20 yr old brother. But lil brother has mild DS, so yes there are degrees of DS I guess. Also 13 yr old is lean and very strong, not typical of some DS chldren that tend to have a heavier body and shorter.

ReplyDeleteThe mouth of the baby Palin presented to the public had a line or crease extending from the corner of his mouth on one side, but not the other side. Although I have seen a couple of photos of that baby flipped so the crease or line was on the opposite side. But his mouth droops down on that side.

ReplyDeleteI hope the parents have corrective surgery for Trig's apparent severe crossed eyes. Some parents chose to be blind to their children's flaws including physical one's so do nothing about them intolerant denying imperfection. The illusion of perfection takes precedent for the parent(s) above the child's needs. Time will tell.
Strange priority to seek cheeks, chins and no corrective eyeglasses for a precious human. Advocate NOT.
Who is claiming that the toddler on the left is Trig? It's not. Or at least, I don't see it.
ReplyDeleteI'm on board with the whole Sarah Palin-faked-her-pregnancy thing, but these constant assertions that there are multiple Trigs and Sarah switches between them or that Bristol or Willow are pregnant because they gained weight and/or are wearing a scarf or that Tripp is not Levi's son or that maybe Trig is the product of incest just start to make some of you sound crazy.

And it really hurts your efforts to promote the only theory that is ever going to get media traction--the one that there is something fishy about the circumstances of Trig's birth.

I've been reading most of the related Palin blogs and post since August 2008. Here are some scattered thoughts or observations:
ReplyDeleteOnce there was a comment on a blog that Trig's father was a full blooded Yupik native. Could some of the newborn Trig's been Yupik rather than Down's Syndrome?
(This would have caused Sarah to freak out.)
When Sarah dragged Trig along for her early book tours, it really looked to me that they were using makeup to make Trig's cheeks look really red. Has Sarah been making Trig up all along to suit her political needs? The bare feet are part of it, too.
This new Trig-Tripp picture is really unlikely to be the Trig we know and love. Seems to have lost a lot of weight. The hair cut could actually be designed to make this new "Trig" look like he has down's syndrome, but it may merely be the popular, "Sarah the cross-eyed liar" look.
Will the new Trig be like Peter Pan - the prop who never grows up? Or like Sarah and Bristol's Dorian Grey?
Sarah has had success in the past either intentionally or accidentally using stand-ins which keep everyone guessing. Why change now?
Maybe it's the one and only good ol' Trig, but I'd like to see a series of dated Trig pictures.
Desperate people do desperate things. Right Sarah & Bristol?
Remember the C4P'ers praying for Trig to be healed? Very noble or a ruse to pull the old switcheroo once again?

I wouldn't say that. I think DS people look like their families, but it is more pronounced. They usually have all the family features, but the features seem, I don't know what the word is, but the DS seems to exaggerate how much they look like their siblings or parents.
I've always believed Trig was Sarah's, but after the photos from the Reagan thing at the beginning of the year, I think he looks very much like Levi. Sarah's looks + Levi's looks = Bristol & Levi. Or Sarah & Levi. Bristol & Levi look nothing alike, IMO, except for their coloring. Tripp looks just like Chuck Heath, and so did Bristol, which is why she tried to fix her face.

Absolutely agree with you. Folks who are too lazy to look up factual information or who spout nonsensical senarios do not help at all. Sometimes I feel that they may actually be Palin supporters who want to paint us as complete idiots.

She also looks like a young replica of her paternal GRANDMOTHER, and has a lot of my own features that are very, very evident in pictures and in person. You are beyond ignorant in your statement that "they all look the same." It is very true that most people with Down Syndrome share some common features - that's why it's a SYNDROME, after all. However, their genetics are just as evident as it is in people who do not have the syndrome. I guess it just depends on the lens you choose to see them through...

ReplyDeleteShe can lie all she wants but this had nothing to do with overbite/underbite whatever she said. She has had facial surgery and lots of work done such as botox and lipo.
Bristol looked like Chuck Heath and that must have bothered her an awfully lot to do all this facial work. She needs to stay out of the spotlight if she is going to do all this drastic stuff to her body and then lie about it.

Because of an allele.
An allele is an alternate form of a gene.
We carry two forms of the gene for eye color, which may be expressed as say blue or brown. The offspring's eye color depends on which parental gene was contributed at conception by each parent. In short, brown-eyed people can be carrying the recessive gene for blue eyes so they can give birth to blue-eyed children.
when my daughter was a baby and young toddler, she also had problems with a protruding tongue. With therapy, she learned to control it and now at 11 years old she has no problem with it unless she is super tired. The fact that Trig's tongue and drooling is less apparent could very well be a sign that he IS receiving the therapies he needs ...but I do not discount the idea that there is more than one "Trig" because I can tell the difference in many of the pictures I have seen..Hmmmm....

We should look at recent Trig pictures like Sarah's book tours. Trig looked like he was getting pretty big and quite chubby or is it bigg? (Of course, waterboarding and torture and food deprivation can help one lose weight! ;-) )
Anyway fyi all: "Doc Watson" is a famous blind folk singer-guitar player - posted was making a satyrical comment.
I tried to find a lot of recent Trig pics but it's almost like recent ones are hard to find. Almost like they've been scrubbed.
The point of the size comparisons is that both Trig's and Tripp's names and dates of birth have been quite mysterious, and this "new" picture doesn't ameliorate the mystery one bit.
Maybe Sarah merely stopped drugging Trig and he looks better.
I think the incessant drone of these "how can brown eyed parents have a blue-eyed child?" posts are from a troll looking to kick up dust -- just like the previous flurry of posts about the young men who were interviewed at Bristol's book-signing looking homosexual.
ReplyDeleteI wish that people would take the time to educate themselves about Down Syndrome before posting about it. Because it is a syndrome, there are definitely characteristics that are almost universal among those affected - but genetics, therapy, education, and overall health at birth can have a much bigger effect on their "presentation" or "outcome" for lack of better words here. An example - my daughter was a 35 weeker who had a very small hole in her heart, had mild jaundice, could NOT nurse because of her low muscle tone in her mouth - came home with me from the hospital on day two, went on to be bottlefed pumped breastmilk for her entire first year, walked at 14 months, and after years and years of INTENSE therapies is now an 11 yo who is fully included in school (with pullouts for reading and math only!) and recently won every event in our state Special Olympics gymnatics meet. No way did I expect that from her when she was first born, but in every way I expected the same from her that I did from my other children. She has thrived because we set her up to thrive.
ReplyDeleteOK that was braggy, I am sorry for that - but it illustrates my point here - you can't judge a book by its cover. People with DS are not all the same. They share whatever is due to their common syndrome, but the rest is what comes from their genes, their environment, their OPPORTUNITIES.
The boy with DS I see in this pictue either needs vision therapy or he's just "on break" from it and having a good time with his cousin/sibling/other relative LOL...I can't judge from ONE picture, even several - especially since it's obvious to me there is more than one child with DS being presented as "Trig" over the years...

This has got to be the dumbest thread. Kids'looks change. You cannot tell by a few photos whether or not it's the same child or who this child resembles.
ReplyDeleteWhat is important and what concerns me is if Trig is getting help for his eyes. After he turns four, it will be too late. His cross eyes can be corrected surgically, but that only changes the appearance of the eyes, not his lack of stereoscopic vision.
If nothing is being done to correct this now, IMO it is child abuse.

"Tale of Two Trigs"? Is this the same Trig that was on the TV show? At one point I was convinced that there were two babies on the RNC roadshow. I'm so confused. Way to go Bristol for planting this photo on the blogosphere for everyone to talk about. I wonder what she is trying to distract us from?

ReplyDeleteTrig looks amazingly like Levi. Tripp looks like his grandfather heath. Genetics are fascinating. I don't think Trig resembles sarah at all. There was a picture awhile back when Trig was younger and I thought he looked like Bristol then. Babies looks change from birth to adulthood and even then some. But all in all, family resemblances show up in weak or strong ways throughout life. Bristol being who she is and sarah being who she is, I'd wager a bet that both children belong to Bristol. There can be a sun and a moon in looks between siblings. Its the genetic thing.

ReplyDeleteThat boy needs more then just his glasses! If they don't correct his cross eyes problem and soon, he'll be totally blind! My husband is blind in 1 eye due to cross eyes not being corrected in time. His eyes should be patched etc. Sarah is a multi- millionaire she can't afford a good optometrist for poor Trig? This woman makes me sick to my stomach :(
