Lawrence O'Donnell makes Levi Johnston read from his book, Okay, that's just mean!

I don't want to be mean, but it does not appear that Levi is all that aware of what is written in his own book.

I am also becoming suspicious of the fact that Levi's book was scheduled to come out at the same time that Joes' came out, just in time to claim that Sarah DID give birth to Trig.

Jesus, all I can say is that I am very grateful that my name is associated with the Joe McGinniss book, and NOT with the Levi Johnston book.

Considering what it is being used to do, and how it is benefiting a certain ex-half term Governor, I don't think that I would ever live it down.

You might want to change the ma to am.
Yes, of course, his book was timed to make Joe McGinnis look bad. This guy was only about 16 or 17 when the lies were hatched by professional frauds. Very reliable information from such a source as Levi. Agree with you.

  2. I believe you are correct. I received The Rogue on Tue., finished it yesterday and started on Levi's book. (halfway through already...easy read) That was my 1st impression as well. They must be using Tripp as a bargaining chip. "Do as we say and you may get to see your son this year...." Levi makes a point of stating that Bristol was NOT pregnant when she went live with her Aunt, etc. And that hospital story (with photo) of Levi being there immediately after Trig's birth? P-L-E-A-S-E! Even the photo tells a different story. The look on his face is more of a Father's proud moment holding his newborn son vs. holding his "babe's" Mother's new baby. (for those of you who haven't read Levi's book yet, he calls Bristol "Babe" over and over again. (blech!) I am certain that they are using Tripp as leverage.

  3. You are right. They changed their released date to The Rogue's date to try to discredit the insufferable bitch not having trig.

Yep, levi is in the palin's corner lock, stock and barrel. Of his own choosing.

Yea, he still is an uneducated, racist, hillbilly.

  4. I was nervous when Lawrence asked Levi to read, but he did fine. Levi is like the skank and the skank daughter, they all have "written" more books than they have read.

I wonder how many books are in the Palin house.

Levi is stupid and is riding the coattails of the Palins in a desperate attempt to get rich quick. He really is a dumb and can't lie worth a darn. No one will buy his book - it's juvenile and untruthful. Get your education, get a job and man up about your son - seeing him and paying for him.

Mean and cruel would be asking him 5 questions from the GED exam...

Levi's book may be his last shot at easy money...

The chance of him landing a reality show is slim. He has done his Playgirl spread and his music video.

Rex and Tank... will you sell him for gay porn next? It may be the only thing left.

  7. Levi is obviously not that well-schooled. He admits as much in this very book.

I don't think his stumbling, though, means he "isn't aware" of what's in the book… he is clearly EMBARRASSED to be made to read the part about almost being caught in the shower by Todd.

You can hear in the first segment that he reads the word "perp" as "prep". Levi is not a bookworm, and may even have dyslexia for all we know.

All these ghost-written celebrity books are essentially INTERVIEWS that the authors write up, anyway.

  8. I don't know G. I think that Levi just seemed kind of embarrassed reading the first passage because of the content. It is clear that he isn't a great reader, but then a lot of people aren't. I thought that he did fine in this interview.

Makine Levi read anything is probably not a good idea, even if it is his 'own words.'

How is it okay for only Sarah or her numerous offspring and hairdresser to make money off the Palin's, and not anyone else in the entire world even though they keep shoving themselves down our throats for public consumption everyday?

Oh, I forgot, unless we 'know them,' and 'walked in their naughty monkey shoes,' we can't judge.

Levi is 16 in that photo. That's when he dyed his hair blond.

Also, too, notice the lack of tattoos and sideburns.

Who is that child? He looks exactly like Tripp. Tripp must be a lot older than stated.

From what I've seen, Bristol isn't too sure about some of the stuff written in her book, either.

It's not really surprising that in this reality teevee world in which we live, that two barely literate high school dropouts were given tons of money to "write" books.

We've all heard Bristol speak unscripted and we've seen how she writes on her facebook page. She needs a lot more education. And by "education," I mean book-learnin' and whatnot. Too bad she has parents who value money, fame, and appearance much more than education. Looks like Bristol fell right under the tree.

I cringed when Lawrence asked Levi to read passages from his book. He reminded me of my youngest son having to read a story in front of his first grade class. Happily for my son, he is now a junior honors student in college. I just hope that Levi grows up and realizes the power of education. This clip just made me very sad for him - even if I really dislike him for not telling the truth. Sadly, I really doubt he will ever find the strength to break away from the Palin sickness.

The photo of Levi in the green shirt holding an infant does not seem like it is a pic of a hours-old newborn preemie Down Syndrome infant with a hole in his heart. Even if for some reason such a baby could be held by a daughter's boyfriend without a gown or mask, the hat would be germ-laden and thus stupidly risky.

In the green shirt photo, Levi is blond(ish), but in the Triggy Bear photos his hair is dark. Mustache and mullet change also. I'd guess 6 months to a year change in his face's maturity.

Please put the green shirt photo and the Triggy Bear photo side by side in a post. Maybe other people will pickup other details I've missed.

WOW, I just noticed that Levi does NOT have his "JOHNSTON" tattoo in the green-shirt photo, but he DOES have it in the Triggy Bear photo. These photos are supposed to be only about a month apart. Do we know when Levi got the tattoo? That would date the green-shirt photo approximately.

I'm betting that Levi had the tattoo well before April 18, 2008. If so, there is no way that photo could be Levi in the hospital holding the baby we call Trig with Sarah Palin in the bed next to him.

    Way off topic -
Yesterday Huff Post had the article about Bristol's bull riding episode. It was getting lots of hits - strangely - today it is nowhere to be found. Usually, an article like that will stay on for days. Wonder why they would have pulled it.

As to his book - he need not have even bothered. It is such a farce - especially when we think back to a comment he made once about having info that could "destroy" Palin. Well - if he does, I think he is a bit late with it. He does not have the courage to tell whatever he knows.

Tank and Levi's attorney have to be on Palin's payroll. I think they have been since the Vanity Fair article. My assumption is that Palin paid Butler to have Levi write a book that could include any salacious details as long as it included something to legitimize Palin's pregnancy. Butler convinced Levi what to put in the book.

Levi may be selling a few books, but you don't get a 24/7 body guard on his limited income. Why would he need a body guard? The body guard is there to make certain that Levi doesn't tell the truth.

I also believe Butler was involved in Levi's mom being sentenced so severely. When Sherry called Butler for help with her case, he refused.

I think there is a huge story involving Palin and Butler and a great deal of money changing hands. As they say in every crime show, follow the money!

  26. Levi will only attract the most desperate of hangers-on. His followers will be one of two types - Palinbots who want to discredit Babygate or those envious of bloggers who did what they could not do, which is get the Babygate story out to a larger audience.

Either way, they're losers. And they deserve the company they are now keeping.

  27. Anonymous7:10 AM

Levi's book is ghost written. There are words in there that Levi would never use or be able to spell. Even though it attempts his folks red-neck brand of talking, it is not his voice. I can't think of a boy who would say that many times that he had just been in the same part of the hospital exactly 8 months before. That reads like an excuse for the Palins more than a kid remembering a previous visit anywhere.

If Van Flein had drawn up adoption papers for Levi to sign, you can bet that there was also a confidentiality clause in there, too. If Levi didn't sign it, or if they realized that the signature of a minor (under 18) would not form a valid contract, then they tightened the noose around Levi's neck through his mother. She said that she would gladly go to jail if Levi could say what he really knows. She knows that she has become the bargaining chip. Poor Levi has been used very badly by the Palin family.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anonymous7:12 AM

I can't shake the feeling that Tank and Rex have been on Palin's payroll since the Vanity Fair article. Butler is much more low key than he was initially. Tank isn't with Levi to be a bodyguard; he is there to guard secrets. They may have information on his family that they use to control him.

Levi isn't the brightest bulb, but there were numerous people who could have helped him live very comfortably and see his son all the time. Something is very wrong with this situation.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous7:23 AM

For whatever reason, Levi chose not to come clean and tell the entire truth in his book.

Rex once said Levi's story was worth millions... what he put in the book is not worth the $13 purchase price.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anonymous7:24 AM

Here's what probably happened re: the book. Levi was set up with ghostwriters, interviewed & recorded, and THEY wrote the book, not him. I doubt he even saw the galleys. So he might know WHAT is in the book, but not how it's actually worded.

I've done a lot of tutoring, so I'm also of the opinion he may be dyslexic. Dyslexic & "hesitant" readers will often try to race ahead to cover for their embarrassment, and put the first word that's familiar to them in place of the actual word. Thus the "prep" for "perp."

It's nice to see he has finally set some reasonable goals for himself, but someone needs to set that boy down and show him what's required to get your pilot's license. It's not just flying the plane--that's actually the easy part. There are many, many hours of ground school and testing. Been there, done that, and let me put it this way, *I* wouldn't get in a plane with that boy.

Yes, I discovered this morning that there are others in the anti-Palin blogosphere who are sort of attached to this book, it would seem... Strange. Hadn't picked up on that before.

There was a run-down synopsis of the book given, also, which didn't impress me much.

I agree that Levi seems rather naive, trusting, and particularly passive (if also adorable and genuinely a nice guy). Hangers-on of all stripes seem to be attracted to him, though. And I agree with those who speculate that Levi was duped, not once but numerous times and in numerous ways.

Can't figure the angles here, but it's rather odd. None of it really adds up.

Whatever, I always come away from Levi-related things believing Levi is speaking most of the truth as he knows it. Or else he is being blackmailed so he is getting along as best he can through the Palin- nightmare minefield of his life.

well I have to disagree with ya again gryphen... still love ya!

I think the reason they moved levi's book up was to take advantage of the media that joe was going to get with his book. if levi's book came out in december as it was originally scheduled, he would have gotten no media for it. riding on joe's coattails has helped his book get a lot of air time that wouldn't have happened otherwise, imo. from a marketing standpoint it was a great move, but somewhat slimy.

I still don't think levi is lying, I think he's leaving stuff out - that's why he gets tripped up (pun not intended) occasionally, because he's trying to talk about brisdull's second pregnancy while not saying anything about the first. you know some of those details have become fuzzy 3 years later, he probably has a hard time remembering which is which.

  33. Anonymous7:55 AM

I think Levi was totally aware of what was in his book. He even said, "Oh, you would pick this one." As an English teacher, I can tell you that reading out loud takes practice. Even the best readers will stumble over words if they don't routinely read aloud. Couple that with the pressure of being on TV and I wonder how well the rest of us would read.

Sometimes I think we all over-analyze things.

I have been so entralled with Joe's book and have re read it. I paged through Levi's, and it's just a feeble attempt at giving his son some sense that his father loves him.

My nephew was in the same situation, and it took years of dogged determintation, hard work, and sacrifice to finally get the court to revisit his payment arrangement, and after dna prooved he wasn't the father, he's still on the hook for life and chooses to be a father to this child. The laws are too harsh in many states on fathers.

I just don't see him fighting like my nephew did, don't think he has it in him.

It's Tragic to watch, and Levi is just lost.

You seem to be engaging in a game of "whack a mole" with each piece of evidence that challenges your belief in Babygate.

At this point, babygate could only be true if SP planned, executed and maintained a massive conspiracy to silence dozens and dozens of people who know the truth.... right down to a clerks in the Medical Records departments.

When was the last time that something like this turned out to be true?

From his actions, I'd say he's a willing participant. I have the same opinion of Levi as I do of Todd Palin at this point. Both are willing to sell their dignity and souls for money. Is it possilbe that Tank is with Levi all the time to protect Levi? We must be mindful of the RN death in a yet unexplained fire, a church fire around the same time, 2deaths as results from "strange" plane "accidents" and then the Arizona car "accident" involving 2 members of $P's Alaska church (can't any longer find reference to this but it was on the news at the time) about the time of Giffords assault. How about the broken windows of the merchant who brought the furniture for JMCG?

It seems Levi, Sherry and Mercede all NEED 24 hr protection for themselves, forget about any other reason.

Who pays for it? Likely the Palin's to make sure Levi doesn't spill some damning evidence BEFORE he can meet with an "accident" that renders him silent.

The sickness of what has invaded our country with McCain's viagra erection choice is beyond our wildest nightmares.

Anyone who disbelieves any of the horror or lies that emanate from the Paylin clan just has not worked out in the world with their eyes wide open.

Just check the news for the horrors of the violence and injuries and deaths in the schools and workplace. Most of those perpetrators did not have near as much at stake as the Paylins, and yet they inflicted the ultimate pain on school and workmates and bosses.

If you are not a believer get your head out in the sunshine and pay attention - all around you - at both words and actions - esp. from the right wing nuts.

Here's what concerns me. There are a million reasons SP should never hold elected position and babygate doesn't even make the top ten. I'm afraid that the debunking of babygate will give her a free pass on a myriad of other issues that are ultimately more substantive.

Regarding the specifics of babygate. Yes there are oddities about her story. But the problem with the approach taken by Gryph and others is that they have developed an unshakable belief that she faked the pregancy. For Gryph, its no longer a hyopothesis. Thus, every time he encounters a piece of evidence that runs counter to the belief, he has no choice but to add it to the delicate laticework of the conspiracy.

I am 44 years old and a good reader, when I read to myself or when it's my choice to read out loud, but when asked to read aloud I stumble over the words and my voice gets shaky . This is a young man, on a live show being asked to read aloud passages from his book, very personal parts at that, on national TV!! Come on, I think it's BS that you call him out because of that.
I think if i was 17, already been dating the ex goveners daughter a few years that I would be very intimidated by her. More that half of adults are intimidated by her and won't stand up to her. levi was told things by the palins
through out the years and had no reason why he shouldn't have believed what they told him. Sarah says she's prego, She comes home and hides in her room. Most the world believed her, why wouldn't a 17 yr old boy
    I think liar-no, gullible-yes.
Why would Sarah want Levi there at the hospital after Trig
arrived? Easy, Levi was used as a pawn. He didn't know what a new born looked like, she used him just for that reason. I think he's just not smart enough to see what
really happened and is going off what he was told and what
he saw. Told Sarah was pragnant, in labor, had baby, shows up at hospital, sees her in a bed with an iv in her arm and a baby in the room. I bet her own kids dont even know the real story.
I also don't think Levi had any thing to do with the release date of his book.
I think the big problem with Levi is his so called manager, and lawyer.
Levi, please for god sakes get yourself a real lawyer and manager that has your best interest at heart, not theirs!

Fight for your rights, prove yourself and get your son away from that poisoned family before it's to late. Starting with that damn binki.

  45. The media may take what Levi says to discredit babygate the same way they used Bristol being 5 months pregnant or the two reporters who got a peak at a belly. All are illogical. Levi's story does NOT provide any proof that Sarah birthed Trig.

We know Sarah went to Mat-Su. Levi saw her in the hospital room. Does he talk about nurses coming in to tend to her or anything else that lends more credence to her actually having just delivered a baby?

He also hasn't, that I've seen or read, said he saw her looking pregnant. His answer to Joy Behar was evasive--something like, 'I saw what everyone else saw. She covered it up well.' Too bad Joy wasn't paying enough attention to ask some follow-up questions. Or maybe she didn't want to.

So, Gryphen - Perhaps you can write a post to show how Levi's book and his interviews haven't put babygate to rest. Does Levi write anything that can be used to prove she gave birth or, instead, did he say he got to the hospital after she APPARENTLY gave birth? Why would he use the word 'apparently'?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Anonymous1:24 PM

Love your blog G, but I am starting to get the feeling that you wouldn't believe your own mother if she didn't come right out and say Sarah did not birth Trig.
My point is that the Palin clan are seasoned liars and con artests. levi was a 17 yr old boy, intimidated by not just the mother of his girlfriend but who just happened to be the governor. She's and adult, why wouldn't he believe what she said to him? More than half the adults believe her but because he says what he remembers and what he seen and what she told him and said he saw Trig after Sarah had him that he must be a liar. Maybe she planned the whole thing. Making sure he was there afterwards so he would believe it. He wasn't in the room during birth. He showed up after. She had plenty of time to fake the perfect set up. Don't be so quick to judge Levi as the liar.
I don't trust the two so called guys he has representing him as far as I can through them and I don't thing I could even lift one of Tanks legs. I think them two are on the Palin payroll and Levi still can't see it. Wake the hell up Levi, everyone else sees what their doing to you.

I think that it's mean to ask ANY adult to read out loud on the spur of the moment. I'm an accomplished reader with a graduate degree.

But, when my son was born, I found out that reading aloud is a very different skill from reading to oneself. It takes practice!

So, stumbling over the words does not necessarily mean that he was not familiar with the content.

that's because it is not an hyopothesis. she faked it. the pictures and the various anecdotes from her own mouth prove it. the problem is that only she and probably 2 other people (todd & cbj) know. so it makes it extremely difficult to prove.

  49. I haven't seen Lawrence or anyone else question Levi about the dates. Levi has stated that Bristol decided she wanted to get pregnant after Trig was born--supposedly April 18. Bristol gives birth to an apparently full term baby, 7lbs. and 4 ounces, a little over 8 months later. Frank Bailey says in his book that Sarah informed them of her "pregnancy" around March 3. Could it be that Trig was actually born at the beginning of March and spent a few weeks in a neonatal unit somewhere until his release date of 04-18-08? If Levi is to be believed, that would have given Bristol a month to conceive Tripp.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Anonymous8:44 AM

Even better, Nancy--there is a persistent rumor that Trig was born in early February--possibly with the problems Sarah later ascribed to him (hole-in-heart, premature, etc.) and was in a NICU until mid-April, when he was "born".

That would give Bristol additional time to get pregnant.

The thing that bothers me with this theory is that Tripp appears older than his official birthdate would suggest. Don't know how that fits in.
