Newt Gingrich receives the MOST appropriate endorsement thus far.

Courtesy of Business Insider:

Considering that the thrice-married Republican candidate recently took a "no-adultery pledge" to increase his clout -- much to the glee of snarky political bloggers -- it's probably not what the Team Newt had in mind. But according to Ashley Madison CEO Noel Biderman, the billboard can only help him.

"We thought that this was the most appropriate way to contribute to the campaign," Biderman told Business Insider. "Seeing [Gingrich] as a human and flawed makes him more relatable. Just because someone has an affair doesn't mean that they aren't personally capable of leading a state or city or country."

Yes, just because Gingrich abandoned his wives when they needed him the most, and constantly betrayed them during their relationship, does not mean he will do the same to the America people.

Does it?

Personally I think the funniest part of this story is that Newt was not Ashley Madison's first choices, and essentially was only chosen because their first choice, serial adulterer Herman Cain, turned them down:

Biderman reached out to Herman Cain last week to be the site's president of international affairs.

"We offered to pay him the same salary that he would have gotten as president," Biderman told B.I., but Cain did not respond to the $400,000 offer.

I cannot imagine Newt Gingrich turning down an offer of $400,000. In fact after he finally tires of pretending to run for President, I would NOT be at all surprised to see him turn up as the Ashely Madison president of international affairs. (I am guessing that means something different in this company than it does in other companies.)

Is anybody else struck by how bizarre it is that the party of "family values" has had not one, but two serial adulterers as their frontrunner in the race for the GOP nomination?

Wow, this really IS a different Republican party.

The most bizarre part of this story is that Newt agreed to this.

Somehow, I get the feeling that Biderman is pulling our leg.

  3. I would think that someone who repeatedly puts self first over promises and obligations would have a huge tendency to do that in all facets of their life.

LAY OFF THE NEWTSTER, GRYPHEN (if that's even your real name, which I seriously doubt) Stop bashing people you don't know personally!!!!

    Just kidding.

To be quite honest with you, I would like to have a beer with Newt Gingrich. Of course, ideally I'd most enjoy that beer while celebrating President Obama's second inauguration. And even more so, I'd like to put a comforting hand on Newt's gently heaving shoulder as he softly cries and "Don't sweat it, buddy. There's 2016 and 2020 and even 2024 when you'll be 106, you fat fuck douchebag.". And he'll look up at me with that beatific condescending Cheney-esque smile he has and say "Thanks for saying that. I don't even know your name and you're the best friend I've ever had...,"

Hard to believe Newt is plummeting in Iowa. I didn't see THAT coming. Next up in the flameout box, after Ron Paul, is Rick "GOOGLE ME NOW!!!" Santorum.

Wow! Is this really the best challenger the GOP has against President Obama?

Newt "I cheated because I love my country" Gingrich? Damn! Oh, well.

What amazes me most about the GOP is that they have NOT risen up in unison to denounce Gingrich's treasonous call for the arbitrary arrest of judges and abolishing courts by presidential fiat.

Gingrich is advocating nothing less than the destruction of the Constitution and substituting it with a dictatorship, for there is no way that his proposal could happen as long as the Constitution is in effect.

Gingrich and the GOP are more than willing to entertain open calls for treason solely to achieve transient partisan gain.

Gingrich has made it VERY plain that the GOP are enemies of democracy and the Constitution.

This pretty much has to be satire... I mean, knowing a bit about graphic design and how to communicate with it, they're clearly emphasizing the "unfaithful" part of the message with bold text, which skews the whole thing negative against Newt, especially since there's a female's name/logo underneath. This clearly sets up a psychological spin on the entire billboard of females against "Newt the unfaithful".

If they had done it the other way, emphasizing the "faithful" part of the message, then I think their point might have had some feeble attempt at relevance, possibly. Though I still think it would epically fail at "humanizing" Newt.

So either this is satire, or the graphic designers at Ashley Madison are incompetent.

Yes, indeed, you've got to hand it to those "values voters" - they'll spend money to hear Newtered Gingrich lecture them on family values and the sanctity of marriage, and in 2010 they voted out a congressman who had cheated on his wife with another woman and replaced him with a guy who had cheated on his wife with her mother. Maybe down south that gives him family values cred?

We don't have to speculate about Newtered's faithful execution of his responsibilities while in public office. He's already been expelled from the House for ethics violations while being the highest ranking member of that body. This three-time loser has enough priors that if Republican voters actually had values he'd be out in the weeds for life.

And, as a friendly reminder for you Republicans - a selfish, unprincipled dickhead babbling bible verses is just a selfish, unprincipled dickhead babbling bible verses.

Wait...so Clinton can't get a blow job from a woman who chased him. but Gingrick is lauded for being so 'human' that he left two wives, cheated on at least two of them, and is about as honest as a fox. I get it...Clinton didn't say he got down on his knees and begged forgiveness. What a morally bankrupt party the GOP is.

  16. Well ole Fatty McFat Fat Newt will be happy to get this endorsement or maybe it's the 400,000 dollars!

Caliscaryface has her eye on a beautiful Tiffany necklace for just that price!

  17. Right over Anonymous 9:33's head apparently.

Yes, it is fair to assume that when a dating site that caters to people who are looking to cheat on their spouses endorses a candidate has a long, well-known history of cheating on his spouse it is satire.

The offer isn't real, it gets Ashley Madison some free press and sticks it to Newt at the same time. A Win/Win in my book.

In conjunction with 8:35's post, here's what CBS radio's Dave Ross had to say about Sarah Palin's appearance last night.

"In full uniform wearing a very visible cross pendant" - ROFL!

Isn't Ashley Madison where he met Calista, or was it "Christian Mingle"?

Either way, this piece of satire is truly funny. A leopard doesn't lost it's spots- keep your claws firmly in him, Calista, you know how easy it is for Newt to od on Viagra and move on to the next mistress.

Ashley Madison is an online dating service for people already married or in a relationship. It's no wonder they don't mind backing Newt.

Gryphen, it's a well-documented fact that signing the "no adultery pledge" is one of the most effective ways for a married man to reduce spousal interference in his active dating life.

Gasman said..."What amazes me most about the GOP is that they have NOT risen up in unison to denounce Gingrich's treasonous call for the arbitrary arrest of judges and abolishing courts by presidential fiat."

Why does that amaze you? Every time a GOP politician makes such a bombastic statement, the base hauls out their checkbooks and sends them money.

It's a very lucrative industry, and the players don't have to produce anything except statements that feed into their supporters' constant rage.

Easy work, if you can get it.

His wife terrifies me. I can't imagine having her as first lady. I'm really resisting the urge to be catty about her and how she grabbed the brass ring that is Newt Gingrich, you know, because it is almost Christmas, and I'm trying to reform.
