I just saw this a few minutes ago on The Chris Matthews Show.
Here is the description courtesy of YouTube:
The Chris Matthews Show features our own version of the "Mad Men" opening this week, starring President Obama. Our take of this iconic sequence portrays the struggles of President Obama's 2012 campaign, showcasing his rivals and highlighting the issues that may complicate his bid for reelection in 2012.
This is of course very time4ply since tonight is the premiere of Mad Men's fifth season, and I have been watching the Mad Men marathon on AMC today.
I am old enough to remember what the sixties were like, at least through the eyes of a child, and I have to say that though there are many nostalgic reasons to remember them fondly the advances we have made sociologically, technologically, and politically have been amazing, and for the most part, very positive for this country.
Hilarious!

Can't believe I never saw that clip - awesome!
DeleteOMG - they really think that Palin is going to enter the race still! Surely not, but she is just arrogant enough to do so.......

exodus2011 Today 01:18 PM
I have revised my opinion of the approximate date to expect a Baton-Change announcement from Newt to Gov Palin, after reading a fact today.
I had speculated about something happening pre or post-Boston Marathon, but now I am fairly certain that an official announcement will not come until May at the earliest. Gird your loins fellow Patriots, we have a month to fight back against intense pressure from the Psy-Ops division of the B O R G (h/t USMAgrandma *__*)
B O R G = Bush/Obama/Romney/GOPe
- the Entity which has the most to lose by the advent of Madame45,
- the Entity which fill fight vehemently against Sudden and Relentless Reform and the rescue of Constitutional America
All through April we are gonna hear about how Romney is inevitable, with the majority of the NE contests very likely to go to him, first on April 3rd and then on April 24th.
From April 25-30th the pounding to get GOP voters to get on board with O'Romneycare will be extremely intense, as will be the pounding to get Santorum and Gingrich to drop out.
We will hear it and see it 24/7 especially from FOX and Drudge
Fight back hard via the New Media reminding people over and over that there are still 2 months to go, and Romney will STRUGGLE in May and June, and that we expect a move that will blow the Process wide open in early May.
RESIST RESIST RESIST
DEFY DEFY DEFY
PS - I expect Fort Wasilla to have a plan to help counter this really intense pressure from April 4th - April 30th to get GOP Voters to coalesce around Romney. It will be a real battle between Gov Palin and FOX, because I believe they will try to stop her using their platform to advocate for a continued Primary Process.
I wonder if the BBB might appear on the West Coast during April .... as a fulfilment of the 3rd leg of the One Nation Tour promise .....

Do any of our C4P Poll watchers know what GOP Polls in Oregon are indicating?
I expect they favour Romney quite heavily, but if Gov Palin is in this Process replacing Newt before May's Super Tuesday (May 8th, 9 States vote) it is possible that she could take 8 of the 9 States.
If the BBB appears on the West Coast during April I wouldn't be surprised to see it spend some time in OR .... and then .... could we even hope for a clean sweep of 9 States on May 8th for Fort Wasilla?
Oh, and exodus, Obama is leading ALL GOP's in Oregon by at least 12 points. Nice try.
DeleteBWAHAHAHA IDIOTS WILL BELIEVE ANYTHING PALIN.
ReplyDeleteShe could accidentally light her wig on fire and the idiot Palin worshipers would call it the second coming of the burning bush- DIVINE INTERVENTION!!!
DeleteO/T ...I understand Dick Cheney got a heart transplant...no word yet on whether or not the heart rejected him.
ReplyDeleteLove the video. Kudos to Chris Matthews' staff. I'm among the millions looking forward to Mad Men's return tonight, but think this season could be a real downer overall, since it's the last one and they're entering truly turbulent times (Vietnam escalation, MLK and RFK assassinations, Kent State, etc.).
ReplyDeleteRachel Maddow's final segment on Friday was about the new World Bank president Jim Yong Kim. The GOP is so busy latching onto meaningless and frivolous attacks against Obama, they're not in tune with his strategic maneuvering. Kim's appointment came as a total surprise to the MSM. He's a humanitarian activist, perfect for the role of allocating funds to countries in need. And the icing on the cake is that he grew up in the same small town (Muscatine Iowa) that the (presumed) next Chinese premier visited last month (because the Chinese VP had spent time there in the 1980s). Regardless of whether Obama is re-elected (perish the thought that he won't be), Jim Yong Kim will still be in a position to be a very public face toward our Asian allies and China (which needs to stay our ally).
Plus, Jim Yong Kim can rap! See Rachel's closing clip:

arapaho: I think there are going to be 3 more seasons of MadMen, according to a report I just read. This was the deal Matthew Weiner struck with AMC.
DeleteOh, really, I hadn't heard that. Thanks for the update!
DeleteWait..don't candidates have to file petitions and pay money to be on a ballot? Seems like Santorum screwed up and wasn't on a couple on the East Coast. Sarah cannot just swoop down like one of Hitchcock's "birds" and appear on a ballot. These people are beyond delusional.
ReplyDeleteHey Sally, I'm a Canuck and even I knew that regulation! C4P sounds like a bunch of those low-information voters that populate the GOP.
DeleteGryphen: "the advances we have made sociologically, technologically, and politically have been amazing, and for the most part, very positive for this country."
ReplyDeleteNot technologically. I'm sorry. We should have come so much farther by now than we have, although the Internet is certainly an amazing advancement. But the optimism and excitement in the fifties and sixties about what the future would hold just hasn't come to fruition. High speed rail is a perfect example. By now, we should all have the option to travel at the rate of 250 miles per hour. We don't, thanks to the unholy influence of the oil industry.
Oddly enough, this Mad Men spoof clarifies the problem well: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/7e1b30b48b/mad-men-on-trains
I love the clip. Chris did a great job! I'm a huge fan of Mad Men- so glad to hear it's on for three more years.
ReplyDeleteO/T Rachael was on Meet the Press -I'm not used to seeing her on the other side of the desk, but she's so eloquent and gracious while being interviewed that the fact she's promoting her book is almost completely lost. She's so talented, can't wait to read it.
