Let's see so far, according ONLY to Bristol. Tripp will soon learn that his father raped her in a damp tent and stole her virginity, that his birth was the result of an accident, that his parent's reconciliation came to a screeching halt because his mom thought his dad got another girl pregnant, that his dad is a low life who simply did not want to spend time with him (Though of course he tried to repeatedly and was rebuffed), and now he gets to know that his mom would much rather have one of those"way cooler" Down syndrome kids than him any day of the week.
Gee I certainly hope Bristol is putting HIS take from the reality show in a trust fund so that he can use it for the years of therapy that he will surely require someday.
She goes on to make some points on Bristol/Sarah's behalf about how many fetuses with Down syndrome are aborted, but clearly the MAIN point was to indicate that this statement, made by Levi from way back in 2009, was not based on reality:

Nice try, but I would have to say that in this circumstance Levi sounds MUCH more believable.

Unless we continue to have choice, we have nothing, and many of these people don't even want women (or men) to use contraception while touting the "glories" of parenthood, even to teenagers who don't even know what they want to do in life. Ask any single teen who has given birth why she didn't choose abortion and it's all from religious indoctrination of some type that condemns abortion and/or shames her for being a sexual being while denying her a sex education. These hypocrites are encouraging very young women to continue their pregnancies through those "pregnancy centers" in order to provide newborns (preferably white) to waiting "parents" of their own stripe and they use vulnerable teens as surrogate mothers for their own ends and profit.

Abandonment issues can be very severe on a child. I know big men almost 50 years that are still troubled with abandonment issues. Tripp doesn't have a healthy relationship with his father. Not all kids have two parents living in the same household, but if one of the parents was civil to the other one and allowed uncontrolled demands and visitations then Tripp wouldn't be so unruly because he would have mom and dad loving him.
Another reason Tripp is acting up is because Bristol is using Tripp to get even with Levi and keeping Levi's mom and sister away from Tripp.
If you think Tripp is having problems now, wait till Tripp gets to be Piper's age. Tripp will be worst than Piper.
Tripp will be Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, Sarah and Todd rolled up in one.

Tripp is growing up in an environment where his mother just wants to be a reality star with multiple lovers, his grandfather is a pimp, his grandmother is a con artist, and his aunts and uncle are a foot away from being incarcerated which is definitely not a good environment to raise a little boy.
What is sad to me is that when parents take medications, diet pills or chemical substances of any type.... that usually means they raise children in that manner. Tripp may be suffering from some type of withdrawal if they are taking him off one of his medications.
DeleteWhile was being filmed to star in a show for the Palins did they keep him under control? I will never forget how on the Today Show that Matt Lauer said "out cold" when he was shocked at how still the baby was. He appeared to not be breathing, I think Bristol had to check his breath. It was a startling sight and Tripp had to have been drugged. It would not be surprising for that to be the case to control him for the Lifetime series.

I can understand why parents with a ds or even more seriously challenged child would tell the world what a wonderful learning experience it has been for everyone in the family. But I am sure that there are many times when the parents suffer real anguish - not knowing what the future will bring for the child and worrying about what calamities might befall him or her. The 1000% rosy picture is, I fear, a fiction and the more that fiction is repeated, the more I suspect it differs from reality. I simply cannot imagine anyone wishing to have a child with a permanent disability, no matter how much "mainstreaming" can be done. Wishing for a life for any child that is bound to be fraught with struggle seems extremely cruel and inhuman to me.

I could not love my child more, but God knows the hurt and blame a parent feels when their child is not able to function in society on their own, and will have to be dependent on others for the lifetime.

When society casts a critical eye on a single teen mother, there is a good reason. A girl who is still a child will not be in charge of raising a child-- while she is still immature. It's not healthy for the child, nor the mother. What's worse is trying to make a TV reality show out of the situation when the young girl is not in any position to offer advice about being a single mother.

1. Tripp deserved to have his father, aunt and grandmother in his life. Filling him with hatred for the Johnstons is not healthy.
2. Sticking a pacifier in his mouth when he was over three years old is not healthy.
3. Moving from Anchorage to Hollywood, Arizona and Wasilla is destabilizing for the kid. That's not healthy.
4. Being told that Trig is the good boy is not healthy.
5. Turning a child into a little TV star is not healthy. We've heard reports that Bristol is a diva in the makeup chair. We know that Sarah is a diva. None of that is healthy of a kid.
6. Using a child as a prop is not healthy.
7. Bristol remains an immature person. She may be 21 years old, but that does not make her an adult. Emotionally, she is a child, raising a child. That's not healthy for the kid.
8. Sarah Palin seems to orchestrate Bristol's life. Sarah used Trig as a prop. Her selfish decisions are motivated by greed and ambition. She uses Bristol and Tripp the way that she used Trig. That's not healthy for any of them.
9. Seriously, if Tripp is acting up all the time, there must be a very good reason. He needs the company of other children. He needs normal playtime in addition to skating and hockey lessons. He needs the rest of his family, that is, if Levi is really his father. And, he doesn't need to be Bristol/Nancy's blog prop. That's not healthy for the kid.
10. Just in case I've overlooked anything, take that kid to the doctor for a complete checkup. Maybe there is something physically wrong with Tripp that makes him act up so often. It's not normal. He is being raised in an atmosphere seething with hate instead of love-- especially if his child-mother wants to trade him for her other child.

I saw an interesting argument on another blog for the dilemma of knowing a fetus is diagnosed as DS:
ReplyDelete- A handicapped person can still be happy/lead a high quality of life within the confines of his handicap. A person who is objectively intellectually handicapped, for instance, may still be subjectively intellectually fulfilled even if they never read Proust...
- The well-being of a living person cannot be compared with that of a dead person, because the well-being of a dead person is undefined. Thus the idea of a potentially handicapped person being "better off dead" needs a better justification; same with killing to mitigate suffering.
To these I would add:
- Objectively, even though a handicapped person can lead a quality life, in order to grant them that quality of life there must be caregivers that (A) exist and (B) can spend an enormous amount of money and time, which means giving up ever having a quality life of their own (unless of course they consider caregiving to be a quality life in itself) -- it is this moral tradeoff that I think is most relevant.
Being a caregiver myself of my stroke-brain-damaged 85 year old husband, that last part would be the deciding factor for me, if I were in my childbearing years and pregnant with a DS-diagnosed fetus.
I wonder how many of these anti-government libertarian types have cheerfully spurned Medicaid help and the other social services available to parents of special needs children -- then supplied every need and medical care for their DS children themselves?
Or have they just let the DS child they bore sit in a corner and rot -- probably blaming "the government" for not magically giving a helping hand? (you have to ASK for it, first)

DeleteYup. This IS relevant. I'm going through this right now. 15 years of progressive decline of independent living with increasing dependence on _me_.
I've changed my life path and my own destiny, not just once but many times, in order to be responsive. I did not sign up for this. I did not CHOOSE this. So my life and goals, activities, career, travel, marriage, relationships, came to an end a looong time ago. I just didn't know it. How sad is that?
Would I do it that same, given another chance? I don't know. I feel like I've done the "right" thing, but the cost is more than I can bear. And there is no reward. Just punishment.

Sarah Palin's arch enemy Levi Johnston toasts his new baby mama, and her mama.

Only INSIDE EDITION was there as we met the future mother-in-law. Trina Cookson is a nurse's assistant in Wasilla, Alaska, Sarah Palin's hometown. Her 20-year-old daughter Sunny is having Johnston's out-of-wedlock baby.
"When your daughter said 'Mom I'm pregnant with Levi Johnston's baby,' what did you say?" asked INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret.
"I said congratulations," said Trina.
"Wow you're an understanding mom," said Moret.
"We were talking about a shotgun wedding you know," replied Trina.
"You were?" asked Moret.
"Yes," she said.
Johnston says he's glad his future mother-in-law is Trina. He says she's much nicer and more understanding than mama grizzly, Sarah Palin.
"Were you nervous at all when you told her you guys were expecting a baby?" asked INSIDE EDITION.
"Yeah, I was nervous. But it went well and she took it a lot better than I thought and I didn't get beat up or anything," said Johnston.
So how did Trina react to the news that Johnston and Sunny are naming their little girl after, of all things, a Beretta gun?
"That's not too uncommon up here" laughed Trina.
Johnston and Sunny are already even planning to have another child, a boy. And you won't believe what they say they'll name him...Duke Benelli. That's Benelli, as in the Italian shotgun.
Despite Johnston's notorious history with the Palins and posing for Playgirl magazine, Cookson thinks he's a true gentleman. INSIDE EDITION saw him opening doors, pulling out chairs and treating his school teacher girlfriend like a princess—he even gave her flowers.
"He doesn't drink and in Wasilla that's hard to find, a responsible guy who is clean and sober," said Trina.
But the women agree, it's time Johnston made Sunny a bride.
"Has he asked for your permission?" asked Moret.
"No, not yet," replied Trina.
Moret asked, "Don't you think it's about time?"
"I think it is," said Trina.
Then Johnston asked, "Well can I marry your daughter?"
Trina replied, "My blessing. You have my blessing."
"Thank you," said Johnston.
"Was that legitmate?" Moret asked.
"That was legit," they both replied.

I used to have some empathy for Levi, but given everything that has occurred, and now this, I just feel he is as dumb as the rest of the clan. I am appalled that he does not exercise his parental responsibility and stop Tripp being filmed. I am almost positive he lets this continue because he gets a percentage of Tripps income.

The fact that your mother simply ignored the fact that she could give birth any moment so that she would not lose her place in the spotlight to give her speech, and then put two entire planes full of people at risk for an emergency landing, not to mention putting Trig himself at risk of being born on a plane with no medical assistance nearby, totally belies her claim of being pro-life.
And until your mother truthfully addresses this, instead of giving the different versions of the story that she has, I never believe that either you or your mother is truly pro-life. You say you are, but your actions demonstrate that you are rank opportunists who use your innocent children to glorify yourselves and beat other women over the head with when they don't live up to your hypocritical standards.

DeleteJust the fact that she wrote the article (ok Nancy wrote it), an she is flaunting the fact that he has downs and then says stupid statements that she would rather have Trig over Tripp....well what parent does that? What parents of handicapped kids even talk like that about their own child? What adoptive parents talk like that about their adopted children? The fact is any parents who have special needs kids would not want to emphasize their special needs instead they would focus on what a great day that child had or a fun trip to the playground or a learning to read experience but they would not emphasize that having the disability is so great because it isn't great. The time, the devotion, the energy needed to help kids with ANY disability is exhausting, tiring, time consuming and if you are doing it right that means you do not have a life outside your kid. The crazy way that Bristol keeps exposing Tripp to men and living with them and then putting it all on television, I am sure she is telling the truth in she would rather have another baby. They are trying to soothe their consciences by reaffirming to people out there how they love Trig, and the claim that Bristol would prefer to have a DS baby sounds like she's experiencing inner struggle on her part for the hoax.
ReplyDeleteBy saying how she loves Trig and "he's way cooler than people with fewer chromosomes" and so lovable sounds pretty disingenuous on a blog. Usually by now, at 4 years old, Bristol and Willow should have evolved in their expressions of love towards Trig, other than to say "it's crazy how in love with Trig we all are".
By the time a child, one's brother or son, is 4 years old, how many facebook users out there say things like that? It's a given that a sister or mother would be "crazy in love" with their child or little brother. Do they keep saying this to convince us that they love him, or THEMSELVES?
All around, Bristol's thinking is very immature. A special needs child will always be loved, but a mature mother feels pain and worry and needs other mothers who face the same challenges to unload the negative side for positive relief. Pretending that it's all magic and roses isn't being honest.
Sorry to burst your bubble but "guilt" "conscience" "inner struggle" are not what motivates this people, try "reality show promotion". Other than that, excellent post.

DeleteIt sounds as if Bristol is having real regrets over Sarah taking Trig away from her. Bristol must have thought that she would be a part of Trig's life, and it was he was just going to be the political prop for her mother. I guess that things didn't turn out the way that Bristol had hoped.
ReplyDeleteBristol seems to have transferred so much of her hate to Tripp that it's no wonder that he acts up all the time. It didn't appear that Trig wears his glasses all the time, and we have to wonder if he gets much therapy. No wonder that he is the quiet kid who sadly cannot see and cannot hear to much, pointing to things on the i-pad to express himself.
it's hard work raising kids, which is why it is best done when people are mature enough to become parents.
Most damning of all is Bristol's need to make these feelings public. Why would we want to watch a TV show about a boy who acts up? What's lacking in their life that Bristol hasn't been able to be a better parent to Tripp-- do they read stories together, play games together or does she just stick him outside to play like a six year old instead of nurturing the four year old that she has.
The blog was supposed to be about abortion and DS, but it turned out to be an airing of Bristol's difficulty in dealing with motherhood. It turns out to be a big responsibility. It's not a TV reality show; it's real life and Bristol is having a hard time with a kid who acts up all the time. What a show, and what a sad statement about a girl who had children while she was just a child herself.
What I hope more people wake up to is that there are some young people that will look to Bristol as a role model. When she is flip about 'cool' DS and having one in a heartbeat my heart sinks. She is like someone who thinks little ducks and bunnies are so cute for Easter, they get one and it is great for a day or two. The bunnies end up dead or in a bad scene.

Bristol's name is now being used to encourage young irresponsilble girls to want a new pet like baby. DS children are precious and can be such joy for families that can rightfully care. Young inexperience kids don't know what it all means. What will happen to DS and other special needs babies born to unwed teens and going into families that don't have the means or support to deal with it all.
I don't believe they have a conscience. I think they are about money or clearing up PR matters for promotional purposes to bring in more money.

Bristol are you guilty because..you gave him away? nannies are in charge of taking care of him? no one in the family spends quality time with him? are you all ashamed of him because he is not Palin Perfect? Bristol you need to seek help with your feelings or they are going to rub off on your other son, although it seems that may be already happening.

ReplyDeleteThere is something I've never understood about the reality shows and Tripp. Levi would have to provide his written permission for his child to be on such a show. Why would he allow his son to be Bristol's meal ticket? 3 possibilities...1) He gets a cut of the pie 2) He isn't Tripp's father 3) He simply doesn't care that his son is being used.
ReplyDeleteNo, he wouldn't. In Alaska, there's physical and legal custody. A physical custodian may/may not also be the legal custodian.
DeleteThe legal custodian makes decisions. Judges don't like 50/50 parenting plans. They want ONE parent to have authority to make decisions unilaterally. And each parent can, unilaterally, when the child is with them.
If the other parent objects, the remedy is to file a motion in court.
This is CIVIL. Law enforcement cannot ENFORCE civil orders. They may, at individual discretion, help with a civil order as a courtesy.
maybe Todd has threatened Levi to stay out of Tripp's life. Maybe he has threatened his mom with another set up arrest. Maybe Levi is too intimidated by Todd's bullying. I wouldn't be surprised if Todd is capable of murder. And he has the APD to cover for him. In Alaska there is always an easy way to off the body. Still suspicious about Curtis Menard Jr., Dar Miller, the church fire.

Bristol declared a few blogs ago that she is now a child of God - better than being a Palin! Simply saying it does not make it so. But she'll keep passing that collection plate alright.

Looking at that photo of Trig, it's clear that the kid needs glasses and he isn't wearing them. Gryphen said that he saw Trig at a basketball game, and Trig didn't react to the noise and the cheering crowd. If Trig has trouble seeing and hearing, there isn't much that he can do except sit there, waiting for someone to pick him up, play with him or feed him.
ReplyDeleteAs for Bristol writing that she would trade Tripp in a heartbeat-- that ranks right up there with calling him a mistake. One day, Tripp will be able to read this stuff on the internet. If he can't read, the kids in school or the kids in the neighborhood will have heard the stories. Kids can be very cruel.
If a mother says to her active little boy, "Why can't you be nice and sweet like your sister over there?" that's cruel and sets the kids up for sibling rivalry for the rest of their lives. The same rule applies if the mother say, "Why can't you be as smart as your brother? Why can't you be as nice as your brother?"
Poor Tripp! Here's a solution for you, Bristol. Instead of bad-mouthing your own kid, you need a break from him every now and then. Not with a sitter! Not with Sarah! Let Levi take him ice skating, playing hockey, fishing or just sit somewhere and talk about guy stuff. Tripp seems to need a break and so do you.
Levi, I know that you have a kid on the way. Why aren't you taking Bristol's comments to the family court and seeking visitation rights with Tripp. He needs you.

What Kajo brought up at 7:35 AM is a most vital and critical point. Are there any authentic Christians and Republicans that can stand up for special needs children? Do any care enough to confront the Palins and Nancy (any of their ilk) in matters like this? Please, there must be Christians and Republicans that will put special needs childrens before these people who use religion or political ideology. It is not whether you support abortion choice or not. It is about children, esp special needs having their needs met after they are born. It is about education on this matter. Not allowing a rogue blog to hook the unsuspecting into kooky mixed up ideas by someone they call Bristol. It is bad enough they are being told to re-virgin and use abstinence as the only birth control.

Bristol thinks people would see how perfect her little brother is. In child talk, or in juvenile talk, that would be endearing to say. But in mature language, adults know no child is perfect, regardless of disabilities or not.

The offensive thing here is that these people act so immaturely when it comes to how they communicate, and the attitude they have towards children. This was the VP candidate, and Sarah and her 21-year-old daughter express themselves like juveniles when discussing love. With Todd, it's "Have you SEEN Todd?" - never, he is a man of integrity, a nurturing or loving father. With the kids, it's brag, brag, brag on what they've achieved, how tough as nails they are, how they support her, support the family, tell it like it is, go rogue, are good at sports. It's never things about their character, their heart.
They seem to display their affection towards their kids based on how fun-loving, attractive, energetic they are. And if they have one chromosome more than another, they tell people they are perfect. That glib attitude being posted by Bristol and possibly read by gullible teens makes it seem that raising DS babies is a breeze. It's not fair to the moms and dads who make so many sacrifices, and it's not fair to the DS kids out there who work very hard at achieving the same goals as healthier kids, as in the Special Olympics. These special olympians work harder and have to overcome more hurdles than their healthy peers.
Also, it's dishonest for Bristol to pretend that because her brother has DS, that he's somehow angelic. She is stereotyping all DS children by pretending that somehow they shouldn't be disciplined and treated like any other child. If she wants to raise awareness to the world about down syndrome children, she needs to respect them enough to stop patronizing them.

Huffington Post is still advertising for Bristol's Unreality Show. I don't get it why they are so all over Bristol's blog. I have come to the conclusion that someone at HP is shilling for the Palins. Suspect a Katy Hall-Nancy French connection. At least the latest is in the entertainment section, and not politics. They got a lot of complaints about posting B on the politics page. Geez Louise.

It seems like lifetime and abc are n bed together! I'm interested in your thoughts.
