Bru-u-uce! Springsteen and Bill Clinton to campaign in Ohio on the President's behalf. Update!

Courtesy of the Huffingon Post:

Bruce Springsteen will be back campaigning for President Barack Obama.

The musician will join former President Bill Clinton at a Thursday rally in Parma, Ohio, two days after the second presidential debate.

Obama will not attend the rally. Springsteen also will appear at a campaign event Thursday in Ames, Iowa.

Springsteen campaigned for Obama in 2008, but these will be his first political appearances of the 2012 cycle. Clinton is a prominent campaigner for Obama.

I'm sorry, getting Bruce Springsteen to campaign for you is, in the words of Joe the Debater, "a big fucking deal."

And you KNOW that Springsteen speaks directly to those middle class Americans that Mitt Romney will increase taxes on in order to cut taxes for his fellow 1 percenters. And having the Big Dog, Bill Clinton, along is certainly going to help bring in the crowds, AND get out the message.

Springsteen's fans are Obama's base. Makes sense he would campaign for him.

Update: It looks like Obama is bringing in ALL of the demographics.

Bruce is the man! He writes the best songs..he's genuine and honest. I'd leave my husband for him. And I love my husband!

The only thing that would make this sweeter would be to have, at the same concert, oh...let's see:
Bruce, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Riatt, Eddie Vedder, Tom Morello, Jimmy Buffett, the Neville Brothers, Jay-Z (yes, him!) and the Dixie Frickin' Chicks!

Hey, off-topic, but Politico reports SarahPAC quarterly report is in. She spent in excess of %744,000!!! But endorsed only five candidates with her "four figure" donation.... $25,000 in direct donations so over $750,000 on things like "postage" and "travel."

I know Gryphen will keep on top of this, as so we all shall.
Three-quarters-of-a-million dollars, and she gave away $25,000 -- despite and contrary to her allegation that she was raising money to pass on to conservative candidates.

I hope the C4Pers finally, finally, start to give money directly to candidates, or to their own grandchildren instead. Sarah clearly doesn't need it, and, if she had it, wouldn't do with it what she promised she'd do.

Wow. A quitter and a liar. Prover facts.

      Delete
    2. Anonymous5:42 PM

Yea, she donated an entire 6% of her quarterly proceeds to actual candidates. That should make those that ponied up their hard earned dollars feel really good, right? Oh, maybe not.

      Delete
    3. Anonymous6:19 PM

What the hell do YOU PEOPLE expect her to do with the money from her PAC? Why should she have to spend HER MONEY on other candidates, when she has so many personal things to take care of herself? Do you know how much toilet paper that family goes through? What about fresh organic-grown fruit and vegetables so she can keep her family fit and eating healthy foods with the 3 meals a day that she prepares?

Sarah is busy living her life vibrantly, and the haters now want her to spend more than 3.33% of her personal slush fund, er PAC money on its stated objectives? Damn, how is she supposed to get rich, selling books for the family?

Shit, Sarah has bought 2 of every 3 books the family has "sold". She can't afford no politickin' expenses. Shit on everybody else, that's HER money.

They can call me what they feel like they can get away with behind my back, but to my face they'll address me as "Sir".

There are good folks in every demographic group, and unfortunately, there are those with their heads up their asses in every group as well. If I see or hear anyone disrespecting someone else just because they think they are better for any reason, I always ask them why, if they're so superior, are they so fucking insecure about themselves?

Be sure to vote on Nov. 6th and encourage everyone you know to do the same. If your friends and family aren't complaining about you buggin the shit out of them by election day, you're not reminding them often enough! Namaste.

    6. Anonymous8:41 PM

"White trash" is a loaded term that means different things to different people.

It's kind of shocking to hear them say it, but I've heard people who were working-class refer to themselves as white trash in a discussion about how they see others have them "pegged" in society. It wasn't necessarily how they felt about themselves, and it's not at all what I thought of them either, because I thought they are great people. They reasoned that they were sort of "disposable" in society and that if they didn't help themselves, that they weren't considered "important enough to matter" except around election time. It made sense to me, and helped me to understand their resentment towards "some politicians".

I always thought of "white trash" as more of a descriptor for someone's uncouth behavior, just as we were raised in an area where being a "nigger" referred to someone's behavior being ignorant or stupid, regardless of their skin's pigment. Granted, use of the word is restricted to almost non-use nowadays because of the ugly way that it has been adapted as strictly a derogatory racial term.

Sort of similar to the word "redneck". To some it means good ol' boy driving a pick-up with a gun rack in the back of the cab; to others it means poor & backwoods types; etc.

I'm not going to rant here other than to say just be sure to consider who you're using these words with because there are many different connotations. The same applies to racial terms, which we have all been programmed to be more sensitive about, but they are words of endearment and affection between some people.

Context is important. I'm writing this as a reminder to myself as much as for anyone else so no one needs to feel chastised. Just food for thought.

"This was one of the most poignant moments of the President's first term. He was visited wounded warriors in the intensive care unit ICU at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, May 1, 2012. He had just presented a Purple Heart to Sgt. Chase Haag, who had been injured by an IED just hours before. Sgt. Haag was covered with a blanket and it was difficult to see how badly he was injured. He was also seemingly unconscious so the President whispered in his ear so not to wake him. Just then, there was a rustling under the blanket and Sgt. Haag, eyes still closed, reached his hand out to shake hands with the President."

I am sickened about this latest Bain takeover and the sheer horror these people are going thru, I want to see this plastered all over the news everyday. The fact Robme owns 51% of Sensata stock and stands to gains millions again for the outsourcing to China due to his very generous pension, well here we go.
The federal government spent over $700,000 to retrain the US workforce being replaced while the US workforce had to train the Chinese workforce to do their jobs. Makes my head spin how this horror of a man rapes this country with that smirk even while he campaigns lying thru his teeth for our highest office.

Bruce speaks to the heart of ¨Main Street America.¨ Bill is the best politician I have seen in my lifetime. Michelle, however, is President Obama´s secret weapon. FLOTUS is a guaranteed bounce in the polls.

And it's always amusing to read about yet another time Bruce avoids, ignores, or snubs Chris Christie -- even going so far as to preventing him from passing through the restricted backstage arena areas at his shows. Christie keeps talking it up like it's going to happen, but Bruce won't even comment on all the pleading to join Christie in this or that for NJ
