Creationist's opinion of Atheists. Must be read to be believed.

This comes from a Daily Kos post about Ray Comfort. Or as we refer to him here on IM the Banana Man.

This is how Comfort responded to a question posed to one of his followers about Atheists.

For an atheist, a starving child is no big deal, because it's just evolution's “survival of the fittest” in action.

I have never met and Atheist who thinks like this. However when we do provide help it is in the form of actual money and food, and not Bibles and attempts to "save their soul."

Starvation, poverty, disease and death are evidences that the Bible is right when it says that we live in a fallen creation.

There has NEVER been a time in human history when all of those things have not been part of  our existence on this planet.

We are the guilty party, and yet sinful atheists (in the ultimate gesture of a delusion of grandeur) stand in moral judgment over Almighty God—when they have no real basis for any morality.

There are plenty of very ethical and moral Atheists. And I would argue that our morality is superior because it is based on a real desire to do the right thing and to help others, and not based on a fear of eternal damnation or the reward of eternal life. Using the system of reward and punishment is a method used to train dogs to stay off the furniture, not how to instill a sense of morality in human beings.

The Bible says we are to love our neighbor (others) as much as we love ourselves. Instead of doing that, most secular governments spend billions of dollars each year creating weapons to kill people.

The country that spends the largest sum of money on weapons of war is America, a country that Fundamentalists claim is a Christian nation. And when our many wars are waged, among the first to sign up are Jesus worshiping Christians.

A plane hits severe turbulence. Flight attendants quickly take to their seats before getting food to the hungry passengers at the back of the plane. The atheist is like a man who sees those hungry people, makes an insane leap of logic, and says, “Those people are hungry. Therefore no one made this plane.” Atheism believes that nothing created everything. It is a quiet form of intellectual insanity.

I don't even have an answer for this last one.  That is literally too stupid to deserve a response.

It never fails to amaze me how little these people understand non-deists.

In their minds morality comes from God or it does not exist at all. Therefore they see everything in black and white, where they see themselves as good and everybody else as consorting with the Devil.

There is simply no reasoning with a mindset like that. And sadly Ray Comfort is not alone when it comes to those delusions.

Fortunately for all of us they are being chased further into the shadows by the shining brilliance of the new enlightenment.

People like this idiot learn in their Christian churches that morality and Christianity are inextricably linked -- you can't have one without the other. I grew up in a church-going family, and "learned" that those who didn't attend church were less moral than I. They were looked down upon. Thank goodness my school also taught me some good critical thinking skills, and allowed me to how see judgemental and unkind my thoughts were. I'm an atheist and view my fellow atheists (including my husband and several family members) as the most moral of all. Our morality depends on the judgement of our fellow human beings, and not on the sky fairy.

Growing up I was told to marry a christian man because he would think twice before sinning, blah blah. My ex-husband was a pious man in public. He beat me and cheated on me until I woke up and sent his ass to jail. His respected ultra christian family blamed me of course.

its like a big club -- if you go to the club meetings regularly and recite their pledges then you are a good person.....if you don't do these things you are a bad person.

the simplicity of the cult. power over people and their money.

Walk away, but be nice to their children. The kids will need it.

    I have a family of 5: 3 kids under 8

My husband and I were quoted $700/mo just for the two of us. Our income is in the mid 40s. And the kids don't qualify for medicaid.

Affordable my ASS. And the deductibles are a JOKE.

Then, idiot you aren't including the subsidy. And this is a post on morality - shows you are an immoral liar!

Kids? As in your under age 26 kids living at home - in which case they would be on your policy. If they are adults - why aren't they eligible for Medicaid - did your stupid red state governor refuse it? Or do they make too much $?

The article is from Colorado, but what state are you in?

In Colorado, we have CHIP which expands coverage to children and would likely benefit you. My research shows a family of four can be making around 63k and their kids would be eligible.

      What were you paying before?

When my husband had a consulting company, we were paying $1800 a month with two kids under the age of 6. He wasn't making much more than you and our deductibles sucked.

The point I'm making is that before the ACA, the insurance company was robbing us blind at 1800/month.

    Alaska Governor Sean Parnell

Captain Bible who bolsters his administration with the evangelical Alaskanophiles, "Samaritan's Purse" posts on his Fb page this:

I observed state emergency management personnel, Samaritan's Purse, National Guardsmen from Alaska and several other states, federal, local, and numerous other organizations participate in #Alaska Shield 2014, a statewide disaster exercise meant to test disaster response readiness. In the wake of the 50 year anniversary of the ’64 earthquake, these cooperative exercises are vital.

Conflating a belief in a god with morality has been the biggest scam played out over human history. It's a 'sheep herding' technique.

Real Christians would feed the hungry children without asking for something in return, these fakers don't, they want your soul first.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but Isn't the entire purpose of christianity to turn your soul over to god and have him guide your hand in all things pertaining to your life?

I swear to God, this blog is going to make an atheist out of me. What happened to feed the hungry, heal the sick, clothe the naked and house the homeless?

You will get nothing but from these so-called Christians Like Sarah Palin, they are all selfish sons of a bitches. Are there any believers out there who actually believe in helping their fellow man? Doesn't seem like it.

When I hear Ray Comfort and others of his ilk claim that there is no morality without GOD, I hear them saying that only their delusion - that thin film of belief in nonsense - is all that keeps them from raping and murdering.

That without their make-believe master, their imaginary friends, they would have no reason to feel empathy for their fellow beings.

That without an expressed Commandment From GOD they wouldn't even honor their fathers and mothers.

...and since they couldn't, they don't believe we can - and DO - live honorable lives without their imaginary bully/savior.

Yeah, that atheist Bill Gates is so horrible to third world children, giving them all that food. And vaccines too. And he doesn't even expect anything for it.

    He must be stopped!

"Must be Read to be Believed" That's the problem to begin with because it applies to the Banana molester AND religion. I have an aunt who calls me every week and mentions what she learned in bible study, what the sermon was about at services, and a litany of good deeds she happened to do during the week.
Because she's allowed herself to be brainwashed and has had it instilled in her, because I don't "brag" nor respond the way she thinks atheists should, I'm damned to hell. She old and set in her ways and nothing can change her, but it's always fear that brings people to madness. If she did her "good deeds" out of kindness, they'd mean more.
I don't even think she realizes what I do for her is out of kindness.

  14. Hm.

I'm thinking....these Christians are threatened into doing what is right by fear of what will happen to them if they "sin". They'll "go to hell".

They truly have no concept of how or why anyone would simply do what is right without that fear or threat hanging over them. They are incapable of understanding.

It's like a conversation I had with some junior high students about cheating. Would you cheat? No. Even if you could do it without getting caught? No. Even if you knew if you failed your test you would lose your job? No. They couldn't get their heads around the concept of honesty and integrity.

I think it is the same with Christians. Without a vindictive God to punish them unless they did right, they can't conceive anyone would just voluntarily do right.
