Stephen Colbert humorously mocks the Redskins over racism on his show, predicts that certain "small minded" people will not get the joke. Michelle Malkin and the Right Wing go out of their way to prove him right.

Courtesy of Americans Against the Tea Party:

Yesterday, Stephen Colbert masterfully made a point about Redskins owner Dan Snyder refusing to change the team’s name but starting a foundation to help Native Americans in his usual satirical way.

Colbert has, through the years, played his role well, often using offensive humor to highlight some of the darker aspects of our society. As a right-wing character, Colbert utilized Asian stereotypes in an effort to make the point that if the Redskins were employing any other racial stereotype, people would care.

Conservatives, of course, leapt on the opportunity to pretend they are not racist by jumping at one of their most hated enemies on Twitter, after Comedy Central quoted part of the segment out of context–making for the perfect opportunity for the right-wing to slam Colbert without actually watching the segment!

The above was a tweet from Comedy Central on behalf of the Colbert Report.

Of course it received some outrage from the suddenly ethnically sensitive Right Wing. Which prompted this response from Michell Malkin:

That's right she is calling for the Colbert Show to be cancelled because she does not understand parody.

And she was not finished yet.

Of course a few of Malkin's flying monkeys also jumped on the bandwagon.

This level of cognitive dissonance inspired Colbert to tweet this from his personal account:
The tweet contains the link to the bit that was referred to by the Comedy Central account, and once you watch it you kind of have to admire how deftly Colbert baited the hook in order to reel in the Right Wing's professional outrage machine.

I have every expectation that Colbert, and possibly other late night comedians, will have a field day with this in the coming days.

Sometimes it is like shooting fish in a barrel. Stupid, stupid, fish.

Republicans Wrong Again: Sanctions Force Putin To Call Obama and Propose Settlement

After seeing Obama’s sanctions take a bite out of the Russian economy, Putin blinked and called the president today with a settlement proposal to end the crisis in Ukraine.

...Bloomberg reported that the sanctions are pushing Russia’s economy towards a recession and that current sanctions will already hurt Russia’s economic growth for two quarters. Experts also suggest that the energy sector of the Russian economy could take a big hit if the sanctions are expanded.

All of the Republicans who suggested that sanctions have been a pointless failure are wrong. The sanctions are doing what they are supposed to do. Putin is coming to the table, and he suggesting that he is ready to solve this crisis diplomatically.

President Obama hasn’t needed troops or to threaten militarily. His administration has clearly targeted Putin and the oligarchs that control the Russian economy. Republicans have been like fanboys with their praise of Putin’s strength, but it turns out their new hero has been being brought to his knees by the intelligent and determined foreign policy of Barack Obama.

I read a synopsis of an article that said PBO also hit Putin where it hit personally - his EGO.

BOO repeatedly stated in various conferences that Putin was a "regional power", and devoid of any global significance.

He was much more nuanced than that but he basically said Putin ain't shit.

Another "fuck you" to all the morons who spoke of Putin as if he were someone to admire.

They are dumber than dog shit.

Sarah Palin - looking right at you, bitch.

I am a staunch Republican, a self-proclaimed Fox News addict, and I didn't vote for the President. And I'm here to tell you that Obamacare works. I'm living proof.

I'm a chemotherapy patient, and was previously paying $428 a month for my health coverage. I was not thrilled when it was cancelled.

Then I submitted an application at HealthCare.gov. I looked at my options. And I signed up for a plan for $62 a month.

It's the best health care I have ever had.

So right now, here's what I want to tell anyone who still needs health insurance, or knows someone who does:

Sign up. Follow the instructions on the website. Apply, and look at your options. You still have time, and take it from me: This is something you want to do.

I wrote a letter to President Obama this past February to tell him about my experience with the Health Insurance Marketplace. I hoped he'd read it, and he did.

I may not be a supporter of the President. But now, I get mad when I see Obamacare dragged through the mud on television.

And even though I regularly tune in to conservative pundits, I'd like to tell them they're getting it wrong. Obamacare works.

So one more time: If you still need health insurance, you have just three days to get it. Do what I did. Go to HealthCare.gov, submit an application, and pick a plan that works for you.

It just might change your life.

He has been crucified over Obamacare - and I don't use that word lightly.

      But, Yeah, Mark -
Why should you even SUPPORT this President who has made such a very real and positive difference in your life?

Can you name ONE THING Bush did sitting his ENTIRE presidency that you could say actually HELPED you in your life?

      Didn't think so, fuktard.

(I know this is a re-post from elsewhere but seriously, there will never be ANYTHING the President Can do to get these assholes to support him in improving their OWN lives!

My lack of eloquence soaks to my frustration over these. ..willfully ignorant people. (Pretty good, right? ) that will literally be able to save their own lives (in theory) thanks to the healthcare that THIS President has championed at great personal sacrifice -

And yet they can not, and will not, ever "lower themselves" to support him.

      Makes me see red.

Appropriating a popular Franken comedy routine from his time at “Saturday Night Live,” Palin wrote that Ortman “is good enough, she is smart enough, and doggone it, people like her.”

For her part, the candidate said on Facebook that she is honored to have Palin “on our side as we fight to defeat Al Franken!"

Keep in mind that this suddenly race-conscious Michelle Malkin has never seen a problem with the Japanese/Asian internment camps in the USA during WWII. Randomly pick up people because they belonged to a certain race/nationality? No problem for her, but really.

January 2011 when Chinese President Hu Jinato met with President Obama ,
    Rush Limbaugh mocked Jinato .
Limbaugh did a racist imitation of Jinato in a
    song song voice using words
like " chin chong, chin chong cha ".
    California State Senator Leland Yee
( yes, the same one.. ) and others asked Limbaugh , on behalf of the Chinese and Asian community , for an apology.
    Which of course, never came.
I don't remember Michelle Malkin demanding that the Limbaugh show be cancelled.
Limbaugh repeated his offensive Chinese imitation again this week.
Still waiting for Malkin to condemn.

Over and over again, we see evidence that Republicans simply have no sense of humor...which is the ability to laugh at funny things.

Whenever I watch Colbert, I continually wonder if there are thousands of idiotic rightwingnuts cheering him on, as if he is SERIOUS when he says stuff only racist/bigots would ever utter.

(I got that impression, from seeing someone's Facebook "likes" as including Limbaugh, Palin, Beck, and COLBERT!!!)

You know, I have often wondered the same thing. Given Malkin's complete inability to appreciate sublime sarcasm, I'm guessing that there are more than a few RWNJs who take Colbert at face value.

Also, how convenient of Malkin to disparage a piece of wit directed at Asians while condoning most every other genuinely racist insinuation directed at, most notably, African-Americans as purveyed by the very network she works for. I daresay that one would be hard-pressed to find a greater example of self-disqualification than her pathetic and impotent display of trumped-up rage.

They have caused, incited and have/has thrived on hatred, racism, cheating, lying, stealing, greed, ignorance, violence and death by their very real disdained for wo/mankind, government and the disadvantaged.

These fools can't see the forest for the trees. They wouldn't be all up in their interpretation of the second amendment if they could understand the hypocrisy and high ignorance that is them.

Their racism has very real consequences unlike a comic.

This isn't the first time they twisted things around and ran with it hoping it would cause the dems to react by termination although the gop do 10 times worse.
