First, kudos to the Louisiana GOP for filing a federal ethics complaint against Sen. Harry Reid for illegally using our tax dollars to play his “politics of personal destruction” including trying to humiliate and ruin reputations of good Americans for his radically liberal partisan purposes (including his ongoing jihad against private citizens David and Charles Koch, whom Reid hypocritically benefits from by having accepted their campaign donations through Koch-connected PACs). He unethically spends other people’s money (his addiction to O.P.M. is renown) to enrich family and friends. Reid gets away with his continual unethical behavior because no one pushes back. Finally someone is!
Personally I think that it is well within Senator Reid's right to use his website to call out the Koch brothers for hijacking our democracy.
If you want to see a REAL waste of taxpayers dollars then just refer back to the post right below this one.
I seriously doubt that the ethics complaint will go anywhere. And unlike Palin back in 2009, Harry Reid will not let a few ethics investigations drive him out of office.
However this post, and others like it on Right Wing media sites, makes me think that the Koch brothers are starting to worry that constantly being called out on MSNBC, on progressive blogs, and by Harry Reid himself might be causing them to worry that they will not be able to continue to hide behind the scenes while the bright light of public scrutiny is aimed in their direction.
The power of the Koch brothers to influence elections and public policy was aided partially by the fact that they were not well known, which allowed movements like the Tea Party to claim they were grass roots, when actually they were funded by Charles and David.
Remember with everybody looking it is much harder to stab Democrats in the back.
The second part of Palin's ghostwritten Facebook post is an almost Glenn Beck like diatribe that focuses on the wife of Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, and her possible nomination to the first circuit court of appeals.
There is no actual evidence that this might take place, but the mere thought of it is making the Right Wing apoplectic.
And if their are crazy conspiracies to fan, then how could Sarah Palin be far behind?

DeleteI understand wanting to keep a confidence confidential, but if the Alaska Senate knows it, then 1) it's not exactly a secret, and 2) there are enough other people in the mix that your leak would not be traced back to you.
Why not give us a wide-ranging clue about what it deals with so that we can go question our own Senators, House members, staffers, etc. on the side and see if we get a response. The more the questioner seems to know, the more likely they'll get info. Or at least a response that indicates they are onto something or totally off-base.
Or, show us all a bit of respect and send a private note to Gryph, who I think most of us feel will keep a confidence. You could even set up a fake gmail or google email address from which to send the info to him from.
This fake email idea would work for any others who have info but don't want it traced back to you.
Or next time you are in Seattle, send a post to this blog using a public computer with wifi access and it won't be traced to you.
I said Seattle, since most Alaskans have to go through there all the time. Don't do it from a place when you are on vacation and can be pointed out to have been exactly in that location on that day.

ReplyDeleteApparently the legislature meets for 90 consecutive days ONLY due to the size of Alaska and logistics etc. They did not get to all of their business before they adjourned for the year, therefore allowing both the Minimum Wage Increase & Pot Legalization issues to be on the Nov. ballot. These are the Dems two biggest turn-out issues! Alaska has a great chance of turning blue soon. Crossing my fingers for you folks. This could be good news for the entire country. And wouldn't Her Heinous sh*t a brick if her carefully crafted network of accomplices up there suddenly find themselves in need of new jobs, or income of some sort (cough - book - cough). ;)

It's not just a great turn of events for Alaska's Dems, it seems like a GREAT way to help Dems nationally as well.
I mean, aside from the positive effects passing BOTH bills would have, simply getting them onto the 2014 ballot wherever possible seems like a GREAT way to counter all the Republicans' bullshit voter restriction laws.
Please, somebody poke a hole in that strategy if there is one -- but until then, I'm savoring the first GOOD political news I've heard in a long time.
I saw that! Here is CO we had tremendous turn out when legalizing pot was on the ballot, many more young people than usual. More young people, more democratic votes. I boast about CO being blue, but it can lean towards purple. I attribute pot on the ballot in helping to put the president over the top.

Other than the wealthy and the dip shits who vote against their own self interests everyone wants the minimum wage increased. Claire McCaskill, in my opinion, is one of the savviest politicians of all times. I don't always agree with her but she does a hell of a job getting elected in MO. Her latest win was yet another example of her knowing how to win.

In Alaska, the Koch Brothers are running advertisements against Senator Mark Begich (U.S. Congress), a Dem, who is up for reelection. They need to butt out and be told to do so in no uncertain terms.

Representative, here in northern Michigan, Dan Benishek claims to be "concerned" about senior citizens but he has accepted money from the Koch Brothers who want to see Social Security, Medicare and all taxes eliminated. 1. Went to a 1/2 conference in New York City, taking Bristolo, and staying in a $700/night suite at the Waldorf and shopping for 4 days. And when caught, had to pay back nearly $10,000 to the people of Alaska.
2. Or living her her own home, and becoming the first governor to collect per diem for doing so. And when it turned out she didn't report the dough as income to the IRS, well, yep, she got caught.
3. Touring the country with her family in a luxury bus bought with O.P.M., flying around the country in private jets or first class seats using, yep, O.P. M.
Sarah should something about spending others people's money. She has been doing it for years. To my knowledge, she starting spending other's money back in 2008 when she went on a $250,000 spending spree to buy high end designer clothes for herself and her family during her failed attempt at national office. Then she set up Sarah Pac and has been spending other's money on her lavish lifestyle that continues to this day.

So, my only question is was she paid to defend the Koch brothers, or did she post this attack on Harry Reid in an attempt to get the brothers to donate to Sarah Pac? Sarah likes to live large on other's money and she must be in a panic to ensure a steady stream of funds for her private planes and fancy hotels.

DeleteFunny how someone with NO ethics whatsoever can criticize someone with ethics. She is such a typical narcissist. Could not stand her from the minute I first saw her and she opened her mouth. I knew then and there what she was. Narcissists never really change. How could they? They think they are always right, need constant attention and admiration and carry vendettas out without end. I hope someday that McCain pays for what he did to this country. He has unleashed the hounds of hell on it and we have been in a horrible downward spiral since then. I wish it were possible to sue them both for what they have done. Just shameful. And the evil Koch brothers can fall off the planet with them.
