Sarah Palin backed pig mutilating candidate "appalled" by husband's inappropriate Facebook posts.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

A GOP Senate candidate said she is "appalled" by inflammatory comments her husband made on Facebook that came to light this week.

Joni Ernst, who faces Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) in November in the race to succeed Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), responded to Gail Ernst's posts, saying, “I'm appalled by my husband's remarks. They are uncalled for and clearly inappropriate. I've addressed this issue with my husband and that's between us," according to The Des Moines Register.

On Monday, BuzzFeed published a May 2013 Facebook post by Gail Ernst that included a photo of Hillary Clinton and called the former secretary of state a “hag.”

Democratic operatives provided The Des Moines Register screenshots of more Facebook comments, which the paper published Tuesday.

The posts include Facebook jokes, such as one from March 2013 that read: "What do you do if you see your ex running around in your front yard screaming and bloody? Stay calm. Reload. And try again."

Damn! Can Sarah Palin pick them or what?

And you just KNOW that Ernst laughed right along with her husband at these jokes right up until they became a political liability.

So much for all of that girl power huh Joni?

Not nice! Leave it to Sarah Palin to have befriended and endorsed the likes of this candidate who has an idiot for a husband! (Or, more likely, a husband w/lots of hate and evilness as a part of his soul!) Ick!

Did he take a good look at the hag PayMe when she was there supporting his wife? Did he even recognize her from the McCain campaign? Seems like Joni and her husband GAIL are well matched. Is he another Marcus Bachmann?? Seems like she is more manly than he is.

Classy folks, no? Cannot fathom that Joni Ernst The Hog Castrator/Tea Party puppet may represent the wonderful state of Iowa unless the dems get out the vote!!! Swapping the likes of Joni Ernst for the fantastic Tom Harkin is ridiculous. If she really had something important to contribute, would she have gone with the pig castrating ad. Does she think that little of herself? Oh yes, she is a GOP woman and it's ok if they dress like horny teen girls, claim Ben Franklin was our finest president or insist "I am not a witch." Anything to turn the men on and win!

How does Joni Ernst feel about an

Why is anyone surprised by the type of husband a woman like Ernst would be drawn to. We in Alaska have been living with Sarah and her predatory, pimp husband for years. Surprise, surprise. Pea's in a pod.

this whole holding people (anyone) responsible for another's shit that no one knew about is just stupid. AND obviously further indications that the bloggers who support it are unbalanced and don't deserve to vote.

Yeah, the spouse of a federal lawmaker has no bearings on said lawmakers ability to legislate their world view. Like Gail would encourage his pig castrating wife to support the Violence Against Women Act. Did you find no fault with Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton being married to powerful people? Didn't think so. Nice nackhanded insult with asshole.

10:09 AM---I know, isn't it strange how the GOP seems to hold Hillary Clinton somehow responsible in the Lewsinky mess? Don't deserve to vote, I guess....

This whole holding people responsible for what someone else says does matter. Ted Cruz's father, Rafael, goes around giving campaign speeches for his son, saying things that Ted cannot say personally. But if Dad says them for him, that doesn't make it all right.

As for people "deserving to vote," that's the sign that the comment was written by an idiot. People are either registered to vote or not. If they are registered, it is their right to vote. No one is granted the right to vote because they are "deserving."

Oh, you must be talking about how right-wingers hold Hillary Clinton responsible for her husband's affair with Lewinsky.

What does that have to do with bloggers?

    7. It also goes to a candidates ability to campaign effectively (important to donors) and to govern effectively (important to voters). To run and to govern, the candidate must have the support of her/his family and their family must demonstrate they can meet standards of civility and decorum and can keep their personal lives and personal views in the background. Having a family member do or say something grossly inappropriate is a huge distraction for an elected official.

    8. Anonymous12:59 PM

Liz, you are right that a candidates family must demonstrate that they meet the standards of civility and decorum, and not do or say anything grossly inappropriate as it could detract from the candidate themselves.

Of course it was just some facebook posts in bad taste.... Its not like he was a well known womanizer, having a string of well publicized mistresses and sexual dalliances thru his career finally culminating in banging an intern half his age in the white house, getting busted, and lying to the american people and congress about it.... I mean god forbid anyone do anything that far out.

And by the way, I like Bill, just try not to be such a hypocrite.

Dear 12:59- Did you notice that no one is calling for Joni Ernst's impeachment?

Just turning the old tired rantings around so you can hopefully realize how hypocritical YOUR world view is.

For another example, if the husband's screed is irrelevant, how do you explain all the "Obama pals around with terrorists" hysteria in reference to a meeting at a home where both the future President and Bill Ayers showed up?

      Duh-oh. Wild Tortoise

    10. LOL, 12:59. Wasn't President Clinton the public official, not the "family."?

What was then, is not now, he is the 'family' this time around Liz, and your Hillary is the candidate who turned a blind eye all those years until it became a political embarrassment.

You guys are trying to use something Ernst's husband did as if it disqualifies her as unfit for the office. Well, whats good for the goose is good for the gander. The only thing worse than politicians like Ernst, are hypocrites like yourselves.

Hey, Sarah, why haven't you called out Gail Ernst, Joni's nasty husband? Joni's not that much of a looker, either, and her hair looks funny. According to Sarah, we are supposed to judge our politicians and candidates by their actions and words, not their looks. That's how we judged Sarah. That's why we reacted to Joni's talk of castrating pigs. No matter what Hillary looks like, on her worst day, she is still smarter than Gail, Joni, Todd and Sarah put together.

Hey Gail, why are you walking like a six year old trying mom's high heels?
All kidding aside, Joni's no "catch" (though she looks pretty good next to Sarah, but then Sarah has the same effect on mooseturds) And Sarah had the chutzpah to call out President Obama on "sexism" based on what someone read to her in Hillary's book?
