George Zimmerman holding picture he painted with his own two murderous hands. |
In his first interview with the Orlando Sentinel, Zimmerman described life after his acquittal last year in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The former Neighborhood Watch volunteer shot the unarmed black teen in Sanford on Feb. 26, 2012.
Now life for the 30-year-old is completely different.
He's always moving.
He's in debt.
And he's constantly receiving death threats.
"I just try to be smart where I go," said Zimmerman, who described the gun show at Gander Mountain Academy as a "friendly" event that didn't warrant extra protection.
Zimmerman said he carries a semi-automatic handgun for added safety.
"It's part of life," said Zimmerman, whose Twitter feed is a constant barrage of death threats. "It's unfortunately necessary right now."
You know I consider myself a fairly compassionate person, but I have ZERO sympathy for this murderous POS.
And the fact that he continues to walk around with a weapon seems incredibly wrong on so many levels.
Apparently old Georgie has a new hobby, besides going to gun shows and feeling sorry for himself that is:
He recently launched a website to give himself a platform to speak freely. One of his posts discusses a series of portraits he has painted honoring the four Americans killed in Benghazi, Libya.
Zimmerman said he plans to give the original paintings to the families of the four people killed but will sell replicas and donate all the funds to various wounded veterans' organizations.
That's right Zimmerman is also a wing nut obsessed with Benghazi.
Just how creepy is it by the way for the man who should have been incarcerated for murdering an unarmed teenager, to paint portraits of other murder victims and give them to their families?
And why would they accept them from him?
There is something very, very off about this guy, and I firmly believe that we have not seen the last time that the name George Zimmerman and "shooting death" are mentioned in the same news report.
George will screw up again. He's found out where his bread & butter will come from - the far right wing nuts, gun loving toters and militia types. These are the people from where he gets his encouragement. It's just a matter of time:
ReplyDeleteZimmerman flaunts fame at gun show
The Sun Sentinel noted that the man acquitted in Trayvon Martin's murder had a smile on his face as he gave hugs, shook hands and posed for photos with members of the public. The gun show took place in Lake Mary, where he evidently resides since it's also the setting of two of his most recent brushes with the law. It seemed like a celebrity event at the venue, and Zimmerman was apparently put on a pedestal as he openly accepted the role as a celeb guest. He even spoke about the fame he gained after gunning down an unarmed black teenager.
"It's so odd to me. It's appreciated," said Zimmerman.
He was talking about his reported "celebrity treatment." This so called special treatment has become evident in more ways than one. For starters, this is not the first gun event he's attended as a celebrity guest. Back in March he signed autographs and took photos with people at an Orlando gun store. He also appeared on television for interviews more than once, declaring his status as "a victim" who had a right to protect himself -- a sentiment with which many Americans disagree.

People who happily pose with someone* who behaved irresponsibly while carrying a gun, resulting in the death of unarmed person, are, on the face of it, also irresponsible gun owners.
None of them should be permitted to own guns.
*For the record, in my view Zimmerman is indeed a cold-blooded murderer. I am making a point regarding the so-called responsible gun-owners we keep hearing about.
The very idea that George Zimmerman thinks it's "OK" to give those paintings to the families of the Benghazi victims tells me that he's not right in the head.
ReplyDeleteAnd the fact that he brags about being armed tells me he's dangerous.
George Zimmerman is a traveling tragedy waiting to happen.
George Zimmerman created an American Tragedy. He will ultimately bring about his own demise.
DeleteIf he really got $100,000 for that painting, why is he in debt now? He's either a liar, or blew through that money expecting more easy money coming his way.
DeleteTime to petition ebay to refuse to sell his stuff.
DeleteI am waiting for the day when old George threatens the wrong person...one who will stand his/her ground. I can't believe it hasn't happened already.
ReplyDeleteHe's utterly vile.
ReplyDeleteO/T The ladies on the View touched on the drunken Palin brawl. I thought they were far too soft on the subject but at least they finally mentioned it.
ReplyDeleteGeorge: here's something for you to think about --
ReplyDelete" liberty and justice" were denied to Trayvon Martin, who is one of the " all" you've painted on your sign. Instead, he's lying six feet underground, while you whine about being in debt.
Perhaps one day you'll feel the fear and terror that that unarmed teenager felt the moment he saw your gun aimed at him. I don't wish you harm; I wonder if you're too stupid to understand what you did.
You should show shame and humility for what you did. Instead, you're trying to live off your shabby celebrity.
The word is remorse. IN normal humans it's an innate sentiment. (Read Adam Smith) In sociopaths, it is lacking.
DeleteGeorge is broken in the brains.
ReplyDeleteIf he's in debt and doesn't seem to have a full time job, how can he donate all of the proceeds from his paintings to wounded veteran organizations? I don't see how he could do that and I think he's lying, again. This guy doesn't deserve any media attention and should just be forgotten. It seems every time he's in the news it's always negative, and he seems to have a problem controlling his temper. This all should be further evidence he lied about what happened the night he shot Trayvon Martin. He probably lost his temper and shot Trayvon.
ReplyDeleteLike any npo really run for self- support (many "churches", PAC's and some other npo's that give the legitimate ones a bad name, he'll put inthings liek his "living expenses while painting along with his paint supplies as "overhead" Then he'll give the measly three digit balance to the families, who, if they have any class, will turn around and donate it to a) anti -make the US a war zone organizations, b) the United Negro College Fund, or c) Trayvon'sfamily.
DeleteI believe his painting was shilled on e-bay and he didn't get any $ for it. He owes a lot of $ to his attorneys and to the court system.
DeleteThe scum has never held a job for long. He's too whacky.
This may be another example of a walking ticking time bomb waiting to explode. It was apparent his family defended and enables him, and intervention for him may never happen.
ReplyDeletePsychopaths today thrive for media attention and media rewards them. It's a complete upside down phenomenon, whereas 30 years ago, a man like this would have hid himself away and completely remained in secusion, being ostracized by media and the populace.
But today? They can brutalize people, get away with it; no shame, no guilt, no explanation. They need that entourage of enabling groupies to soothe their every small wound, yet have no problem defyingly getting their face in the news every chance they get, sticking it to their victims and the victims' families.
If it must happen, I hope the ONLY wound in that future shooting is a self inflicted one.
ReplyDeleteSince OJ? Talk to some women who were victims of rape...
ReplyDeleteI care only that he not hurt someone else. I was certainly taught not to wish ill on anyone, but if Zimmerman is going to live his life threatening others, I just may have to make an exception.
ReplyDeleteAnd Gander Mountain allowed this - first divest your stock portfolio, and buy your camping gear elsewhere. AND LET THEM KNOW WHY.
ReplyDeleteHave any of the threats been reported to police or been substantiated?
ReplyDeleteREI shopper here, never heard of Gander Mountain, we don't have them in AK.
ReplyDeleteHe has a face that just asks for a smacking. Smug sociopath. If his family didn't have money he'd be in jail right now, where he belongs.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Zimmerman was seeing a mental health professional before the shooting. His medical records were of course not allowed as evidence in the trial.
ReplyDeleteThe mental state of the shooter was apparently not relevant, but whether the deceased had ever been in a fight or smoked pot was.
The vicim's autopsy and drug test were admitted as evidence, but the shooter didn't have to take a drug or alcohol screening that night. Apparently that is that way it is. The police could have ASKED GZ to take a drug/alcohol test and he could have refused. But they didn't even ask.
I remember the first time I listened to GZ's phone call to the non-emergency number describing Trayvon Martin the night GZ shot and killed him. My reaction was "Man, he sounds like he's on something or he's paranoid".
I know it's not a clinical diagnosis, but nothing that has transpired since has caused me to say, "Gosh, I was wrong about that GZ guy. On balance now, I see my initial impression was inaccurate."
GZ's behavior has only cemented my belief that he needs some seriously intensive and long-term mental therapy.
Sadly, I do not think he is getting it.
MarvinM
no doubt - even the neighborhood watch people didn't want him.
DeleteHe probably self medicates because he's so intelligent, he could be a doctor....(sarcasm).
