76 year old chair of a county Republican party in Georgia arrested after sexual assault broadcast on Skype.

The chair of a county Republican Party in Georgia was recently arrested after he was allegedly broadcast on Skype sexually assaulting and attempting to rape a woman.

On Wednesday, the North Georgia News reported that Union County Republican Party Chairman Billy Joe Turnage, 76, was facing charges of sexual battery and criminal attempt to commit rape.

Union County Sheriff Investigator Staff Sgt. Darren Osborn told the paper that 911 dispatchers received a report of an ongoing "assault and rape" of a 39-year-old female at Turnage's residence last week.

"Oct. 22, dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 4 p.m. of what was believed to be an assault and rape," Osborn noted. "It was being viewed via Skype. Deputies responded and I responded as well."

"Upon our arrival, we started an investigation," he continued. "The end result was the arrest of Billy Joe Turnage. Mr. Turnage was at the scene when we arrived."

Osborn said that investigators from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation conducted two days of interviews before bringing criminal attempt to commit rape charges against Turnage.

Now look I am not going to say that this is in any way indicative of how Republicans seem to be treating females in this country, because that would be unfair.

I mean just because in many places where Republicans hold a majority there are draconian policies in place which restrict a woman's access to not only abortion but also birth control and free medical advice is no reason to draw a parallel.

Nor is there a real connection between this disgusting assault and the Republicans blocking the Paycheck Fairness Act, which would have ensured that women were as valued in the workplace as men.

Two completely separate issues, right?

After all it's not like Republican men see women as inferior, or needing to know their place or anything.

Right?

Can 76 year-old Republican men really get it up at that age?

Hats off to Rebublicans for adding a whole new word to their already-substantial War on Women arsenal: looks like good ol' Billy Joe done got hisself in a "Skrape."

On behalf of the women of America may I be the first to say, "Thank you, Master!"

Gryphen, I really dislike your new anti-machine testing system. A LOT of the time the words and/or numbers are so fuzzy and run together it's impossible to correctly read them.

I understand the need, I just don't like the way it is done.

    1. Actually Leland I did NOT do it.

Blogger did it on its own, and I have been unable to undo it so far.

Leland, click the circular refresh arrow until you get something easier to read. I'm on the far side of middle aged with bad eyesight and I can get through the 'system'. Gryphen isn't controlling it.

Sorry, Gryphen, I didn't mean to imply you had done it, per se. I was just commenting on it being a royal pain in the A**!!!!!!!

And 2:04, I have been fighting with these things for years myself and my eyesight is also bad. It's just a pain to have to be constantly clicking refresh to get something I could read. For a while it was just simple numbers like a house address or a number on a curb. Now it's gotten to the point it has TWO disgustingly difficult words to read. And when they are "twisted" to make it harder to even see individual letters it's enough to P**S a person off!

What cracks me up is someone I know bought a program that "trains the brain", and half of it are exercises very similar to the set up to prove we're not robots.

Republicans need to know what was she wearing and why was she at his house before they can make a judgement on whether this was sexual assault or not.

Exactly, as well as what kind of rape category this would fall under, and if said rape would lead to conception, than it was ordained by God to create life.

I don't see it as a republican/ democrat thing. Some old men on viagra with huge, throbbing wallets and ginormous bank accounts are very attractive to some females. Right, Sarah?

All kidding aside, as disgusting as this is, it's sad that a man in power will use that power for selfish pleasure, and the woman will always be called a slut, she asked for it the way she was dressed, etc etc. etc.
And to share it on Skype? Deplorable.
