As it turns out not only did the Republicans already know that Hillary Clinton used a private e-mail service while Secretary of State, they have already read them.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said, “We knew as of last summer that the Secretary used a private email account. This is not something new. We knew also that she was cooperating. She was giving us everything that we asked for. Nothing changed except for the pressure on the Republican members of the committee this week became too great for them to resist from the Stop Hillary PAC people and the RNC people, so they issued a subpoena for records that we already have. Now, the Secretary has called for those records to be made public. Why isn’t the chairman doing that? Why aren’t we doing that? The reason is we’ve read them. There’s nothing in them. My colleague says well, how do we know we have them all? The reality is that if this secretary or anyone else emailed a stand down order as this mythical claim exists out there, there would be several people on the receiving end of that email. There would be people at the Pentagon, people in the field who would have to receive that order. None of that. There is no evidence of that.”

Rep. Schiff brought up a great point. If there were anything in the emails, Republicans would have quickly made the emails public in order to build and prolong the story. The fact that former Sec. Clinton has called for the emails to be released, but Republicans refuse to make them public, speaks volumes about what this “scandal” is really about. The subpoena for documents that they already had in their possession is straight out of the Republican Benghazi playbook.

You know this occurred to me when I first heard about his so-called "scandal" as well.

There have been several investigations into the Benghazi incident, by a number of Republicans. Which means they would have seen that Clinton's e-mails were coming from a non-government e-mail address, and yet that did not seem to raise a red flag until just last week?

And by the way, just speaking for myself, whenever I see a debate on ANY topic that includes Darrel Issa taking the side of the Republicans, I immediately feel that they have lost the argument.

The guy is one of the biggest clowns in the GOP, and I swear that if he were trying to convince me that water was wet I would have a hard time believing him.

Well, the field of clowns in the gop/TP is vast. Seems the so-called "right" attracts the ugliest, ost racist, low intelligence, self serving people in this country. When will the democratic politicians investigate Rafael Cruz? Is he REALLY a citizen? Is his mother truly an American citizen as he claims? Also, too, what about the SERIOUS ethical problems of Walker, Christie, Perry and other idiots running for the WH? Jebby is not pure as the driven snow, either, his background is full of corruption. If the repubs. want scandal, they should look at their own. Maybe they have, and their only choice is to go after Hillary, since they can not defend their own.

O/T, but it seems a whole bunch of Republicans have sent a letter to Iran warning them that any agreement they make can be nullified in just two years by the new (presumable GOP) President, so they'd best not bother. My God, will they stop to anything to get a war underway? Come on, Dems, these guys are traitors..let's treat them as such!

When this "broke" in the New York Times, it was clear that it was a non-story story. Given that so many in Washington, including former Sec'y of State Colin Powell, used/use private email accounts, it really is like beating a dead horse. But the GOP is very good at that. Issa now wants criminal charges against Hillary Clinton although he has no idea on what grounds.

The fact that the New York Times "broke" this story last week, and the manner they used to do so, shows that they wanted to fan the anti-Hillary flames in order to build up support for Jeb Bush. One would think that no New Yorker would ever want to see another Bush in the White House. The Republicans sure have short memories, unlike the elephants they adopt as mascots.

The establishment Republicans have three canaries - Graham, McCain, and Issa. When I hear anything from any one of them, my bullshit alarm goes off - hear it from two of them, and it's certified grade A bullshit. Seems to me the Lindsey "Benghazi" Graham for president committee is working from the inside.

John Kerry is the first SoS to use a state.gov email... So the problem is...? Oh, yeah- her name is Clinton.

  6. So this is all just media hype and showmanship.

    Well, it's the GOP.

They have to give Darrell "BENGHAZI BENGHAZI BENGHAZI" something to do for the next 18 months.

Now he's got 55,000 pages of homework.

And in the end.....it still won't matter because there is nothing to find.

Let's see how they bury this info on the back page.

We the taxpayers need to demand that the members of Congress that bring numerous, frivolous investigations (Issa/Benghazi), should have their wages docked. Similar to the courts for frivolous lawsuits.

Hillary is not stupid and has been through all this before, I would have been very surprised if she had been doing anything sneaky. ( SNL actually had a funny take on all this)

Oh and Bristol/Sarah where is your posting on this update? Still busy deleting/redactin emails from your governorship?
