Hey, hey, hey do you know what's really behind the riots in Baltimore? Gay marriage.

Texas Rep. Bill Flores
Courtesy of Raw Story:

Republican U.S. House Representative Bill Flores of Texas argued this week that violence in Baltimore could be linked to the legalization of same-sex marriage in the United States.

On the Wednesday edition of the Family Research Council’s Washington Watch radio program, Flores told FRC President Tony Perkins that crowds of conservatives were showing up at the U.S. Supreme Court to urge justices to support the “rights of tradition marriage.”

Perkins suggested that the government was just creating more problems for itself as courts throughout the nation continued to rule that LGBT people should have equal marriage rights.

“A lot of these problems are created by the breakdown of the family, which the redefinition of would only accelerate,” Perkins opined.

“You’re exactly right, Tony,” Flores agreed. “Let’s talk about poverty for instance… The single best indicator of whether or not a child is going to be in poverty or not is whether or not they were raised by a two-parent household or a single-parent household. And so the breakdown of the family has contributed to poverty.”

“You look at what’s going on in Baltimore today, you know, you see issues that are raised there,” the congressman continued. “And healthy marriages are the ones between a man and a woman because they can have a healthy family and they can raise children in the way that’s best for their future, not only socially but psychologically, economically, from a health perspective.”

Makes perfect sense.

The only good kind of parenting is the parenting done by a man and a woman, married during a Christian ceremony in an honest to goodness church, who are raising their child to be a God fearing clone of themselves.

Anything else leads to rioting, the rejection of Creationism, and "gasp" homosexuality. (And not the good kind with just two ladies either.)

So clearly the problems with police brutality, and minorities being arrested in far larger numbers than their white counterparts, has nothing to do with racial injustice, and is only the byproduct of single parent families, and not enough Jesus in their lives.

It must be incredibly comforting to always see every problem as black and white, and to believe that through some divine intervention you happened to have been born in a place that allowed you to have been indoctrinated into the right religion.

I think they only see every problem as 'black,' basically, because you know they don't respect black families with two parents either. Scratch beneath their shiny white skin, and they want blacks to kill each other.
I do love what their anti-abotion, anti-contraception laws will create though..an even faster demolition of the white man's status in America, because you know that rich white women who want abortions and contraception will still get them, so guess which races all those new forced birth kids will be? You know, Perkins, all those kids born to two parents, or a thousand raped teens? Who is going to feed them, educate them, and make sure they are raised evangelical Christian? Not you, I'm betting.

  3. Do you think this guy has ever heard the phrase 'non sequitur'. Of course not! It's in some kind of foreign language and probably has a filthy meaning.

'The single best indicator of whether or not a child is going to be in poverty or not is whether or not they were raised by a two-parent household or a single-parent household."

No, not at all. There are a very large number of peripheral issues which must be taken into consideration. One cannot blame poverty on a single-parent situation alone. In my lifetime I've known quite a few two-parent families living in poverty as well as some single-parent families.

    It just isn't that cut-and-dried.

If I were asked to point out the single largest contributor to poverty I would say "lack of a good education", and I don't mean to say one has to have a college degree for it to qualify as "good".

The quality of an education one gets depends in large part on the individual being educated -- their motivation. If the individual has good teachers that's a huge plus.

Well, obviously, gay people are known for having many out-of-wedlock babies from one night stands. In Bizarro World, that is.

WTF Texas! This is the second IM post today about some wackadoodle in office spouting off crazy nonsense. I am FROM Texas and when I moved away 20 years ago I was certain I would go back some day. Now you couldn't pay me to even visit. The more I read about the bullshit going on down there, the happier I am to have left.

I was switching channels, and some whackadoodle Joyce Meyer cray cray lady blamed it on single parent households, gays and "Those people" who are used to Government money, they don't even bother to look for a job. But she blamed the gay for ruining families, and even quoted the bible..... thing is, the quotes had nothing to do with homosexuality and everything to do with onanism = the spilling of seed away from where it's supposed to spill. She interjects "can I get an amen" and "hallelujia" Praise the lord and keep those dollars coming.

Oh, I forgot, seismic events are from "The gay", no explanation, they just are. She's got shelly bachmann eyes and is a total fraud.

Ok, so what does the 60+% divorce rate in the US mean? Those are single parent households too. Are they factoring those in as well? I mean really!!!

The ENTIRE African-American population is only 13% of the TOTAL US population. Trust...we are not the source for every problem in this country. For example, if you break a dollar bill down into pennies, 13 pennies = African American, 87 penning = everybody else.

NEWS Flash: Black people do not have the most cases of diabetes when you compare the entire US population to the African American population (not just where AA's live). It's impossible!

Black people do not have the highest cases of welfare or government assistance when you compare the entire US population to the African American population (not just where AA's live). It's impossible!

However, Black communities are the most tarted populations for incarceration. The cycle is: 1) no jobs that pay decent wages will hire black men or women 2) families forced on welfare in which fathers can't be counted as part of the family 3) families broken up due to financial strain and because dads, brothers, uncles, etc. have to make money (by other means) 4) dads, brothers, uncles arrested.

We only make up 13% of the population, it's easy to identify us (meaning no one has to guess whether a person is black or not) and it's been systematically going on for years (chain gangs, government contracts to rebirth segregation, etc.)

Thank goodness technology now allows others to see and share the story of the African American community as it is happening in real time. Although the burden is on our leaders to lift us out of the rut of depression that comes from US slavery PTSD, I am hopeful that the attention on the Black Lives Matter movement will provide the type of traction and therapeutic support needed to help America adopt a collective healing strategy.

    Getting off soapbox now....
