I'm a little Easter'd out, but I thought this needed to be shared.

Photo courtesy of The Obama Diary.
The Obama family also attended services at the Alfred Street Baptist Church, in Alexandria, Virginia.

Today of course will be the traditional Easter Egg Roll at the White House.

Pretty into Easter for a Muslim born in Kenya, don't you think?

By the way for a little more good news this Monday morning, President Obama was also chosen by the American people as the Most Admired Man for the seventh year running.

And THAT'S not bad for a guy who has been under constant political attack and smear campaigns since the very day of his inauguration.

Beautiful man and beautiful family! So, so happy I cast my ballot for him both times!'

Americans should be thankful he was selected as our chosen leader in that he does not believe in war and the killing of each other, but in negotiations for peaceful methods! Bless him!

Beautiful! Thx for posting it. Love that they included the dogsters. Our best president ever, in a time of multiple hideous crises, no scandals, just a dignified, honest, smart, skilled, , able. We have been so lucky.

Agreed! I also like the fact that Mrs.Obama is dressed in her own clothes, not trying to wear her daughter's clothes.

Yes, the focus away from clothes and other nonsense of past presidencies adds dignity to the office.

No gall-bladder scars on the front page per LBJ! No stray women per JFK! No Watergate, per Nixon! No wars, per Bush! Or I should say, no out-of-the blue new wars. No "lusted in my heart" quotes, like Carter! No throwing up on another head of state, like Papa Bush! No Alzheimers, like Reagan. No Whatever is is," per Clinton. Oh we have been so lucky.

OK I'll be the killjoy. They are a beautiful and genuine family, with a lot of open affection and communication. I love them. Their Easter colors are fantastic and fun. The dogs have built-in Uggs and are beyond precious. But the girls' skirts are too short! Call me a fuddy duddy, and I know that's what they wear, but I think they're too short for anybody who's not at the beach or playing tennis. Now I'll go take my geritol.

And I can remember when the First Lady first wore a sleeveless dress at the SOTU, and Americans attacked her as though she'd showed up in her birthday suit. They're only legs. Nothing more. They are for standing and walking--that kind of thing. And when you're 5' 9" (Sasha) or 6' (Malia), your legs are longer. Wasn't Bristol pregnant with baby no. 1 by the time she was Malia's age? Just sayin'

I must admit, I thought they were a bit short too. However, they all look great and you can feel the love. That's what's important! I believe the girls just have really long legs which make the dresses appear short on first glance. I really don't think you're a fuddy duddy; and if you are a little more "modest" than others, so be it -- you have that right.

Wow, didn't know that Malia and Sasha were that tall! I mean I knew they were tall... but damn.... I feel short and old. 28 and 5'2.

I don't normally look at pics of the First Daughters much, but I studied this one. They've really grown. Malia looks nearly identical to Michelle in the face, I think. And Sasha has a pretty cute smile in this pic. She makes braces look good!

What happened? Someone got offended by the way they dressed? Awww how sad. What should they wear? I know their dad's a muslim, but isn't it a bit early to start wearing burkas? Perhaps granny house dresses and matching robes would be more appealing?

Oh, Geritol person, bring back the miniskirt days! Best music ever in the 60s...and when an angry public said STOP THIS DAMN WAR.

This is one beautiful family. That you can't handle it is your problem.

    10. Anonymous6:52 AM

Malia and Sasha are very tall so that's probably why their skirts appear to be very short. Just as it's hard for a woman of my height (5'1") to find dresses and skirts that aren't too long, it's probably hard for Malia and Sasha to find skirts are longer. Still, they look perfectly lovely and stylish.

The acid test for all of us miniskirt wearers back in the 60s and 70s was that the skirt couldn't be shorter than the tips of one's fingers when one's arms were straight at one's side.

The girls pass that test just fine.

    1. I too was remembering my 60's dress lengths. These dresses are no shorter than those were--but the Obama daughters have enviably longer legs than I had (and have).

For anyone who didn't grow up watching the Brady Bunch do a quick google for some video footage of Marsha, Jan and Cindy and how crazy short their skirts were, and these were "good girls" wearing the super short fashions of their era.

Thanks for the memories. I remember my parents reaction the first time I went out in a tee shirt, shorts and no bra. You'd think it was a capital offense! I went to Catholic school, and we had one day to get our uniforms drycleaned, got sent home with three demerits. One of the nuns walked me to the corner in one of her coats with a note that said something to the effect I was "asking to get raped". Abstinence does something awful to some people's brains. She took the damn coat back and I had to walk eight blocks home, dodging rapists at every turn. (eyeroll)

As long as they can bend over without any chance of their behinds hanging out, they're good. That was the rule in my house, at least.

Not only did my perfectly well-mannered and modest mother wear mini-skirts back in the 1960s and 1970s, she also wore hot pants. Heck, my sister and I wore mini-skirts and go-go boots when we were pre-schoolers.

Remember - short styles go in cycles. I'm in my early 70''s (senior!) and I recall when we wore the short dresses - always feared having to bend over!!! At least now they wear little shorts under them or tights/stockings/nylons (older terms, of course!)! Haha!

Agree Anonymous 1:05. I'm almost 67 and when I was in my mid 20's (during the 1970's) and thin, I wore short skirts. It was the style.
