That's our hero. Fighting for truth, justice, and women's basic health rights. |
The White House on Friday threatened a veto on any bill that defunds Planned Parenthood. A budget measure that strips funding from the organization “is certainly something that would draw a presidential veto,” press secretary Josh Earnest said.
“We have routinely opposed the inclusion of ideologically driven riders” in budget bills, Earnest added.
It is the first time the White House issued a veto threat against Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood since an anti-abortion group began releasing secretly recorded videos.
I am extremely glad to have Obama in the White House in times like this. And I am equally glad to know that if elected both Hillary and Bernie would continue to fight the Republicans on these key issues.
If you are a woman, and care even a little about women's rights, then you want to make damn sure to keep a Democrat is the White House. Because have no doubt that if the Republicans get their way, Planned Parenthood is finished.
And if possible they WILL repeal Roe vs Wade just as soon as they get the deck stacked in their favor.
I believe a school friend of willow who lived with the palins for 6months when she calls them her second family.
ReplyDeleteFunny how there are many hateful writers here criticizing strangers and not looking within to examine themselves. You can't know a person you've never met and you can't judge another persons life ever. Talk about common sense.
Double standards between dems and gop are alive and well. Are you aware the exact. Same. Things and stories you create about Sarah et al are written about Obama, Clinton and pretty much every radical democratic demagogue. It's a fact.
Don't let your past interfere with your future. Obama is grateful for that.
Run along you delusional peawit.
DeleteWhy have you stopped telling us about Bristol Palin's saintly purity, Alicia?
DeleteWas Willows "friend" shacked up in the hangar with Track or was she turning tricks for Pimp Tawd? What a stupidly idiotic thing to bring up.
DeleteWas that the Asian guy (Alex?) that went upstairs even though $varry told him to not go up there?
DeleteWhat is funny, 4:44 PM, is the stupidity that you bring here. That college in Florida, (Flagler College) that you attended from 2002 -2008 taught you nothing. Your sentence structure, grammar, and spelling are atrocious. Was Stalking Facebook your major and Palin Worship your minor?
Deletestfu idiot.
Delete4:44 -- facts and logic are your friends. They'll lend you a hand any time you want to try to write something.
ReplyDeleteI know that President Obama will defend a woman's right to determine her own health care decisions. Any women who votes for any republican is gambling with her own future as well as the future of any daughters or granddaughters she may have.
ReplyDeleteFriends don't let friends vote republican.
Republicans have had many chances to defund PP and even overturn RvW. They don't because they don't give a hill of beans. It's nothing more than a campaign issue. They couldn't care less about it otherwise. Otoh, their base of slack jaws buy their rhetoric hook-line-and sinker. Citizens United is destroying this country, without doubt.
ReplyDeleteAlicia Mangelsdorf is on one today. She is even pretending that she is a writer. Do you, Alicia personally know 'willow' or any of her friends? What you see on their Facebook accounts does not make you a family friend. Get a life, the Palins don't like you and your stalking. Ask Bristol Palin to explain why she did not announce this pregnancy?

We women have to not only make sure there will be a Democrat in the White House come 2017, but we damn sure have to make sure we vote also on LOCAL government issues!!! We NEED to turn our country around to what it was in the 1990s!
ReplyDeleteAmerica Can’t Afford Sarah Palin or the Defunding of Planned Parenthood
ReplyDeleteIn 2013-2014 Planned Parenthood provided:
378,692 pap screenings for cervical cancer
487,029 breast exams, and detected 87,988 cases of breast cancer
3,577,348 patients were provided with birth control services (meaning that over 3 million women didn’t need an abortion)
704,079 HIV/AIDS tests were provided
3,727,359 tests were performed to detect sexually transmitted infections, and 169,008 patients were diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease
32,334 colonoscopies were performed
4166 vasectomies were performed ( again preventing countless abortions)
...So why would Sarah Palin work so hard to promote defunding of Planned Parenthood. The answer is REVENGE! It was during the 2008 campaign that Planned Parenthood received donations in the amount of $760,000. 00. People were so outraged at Palin’s anti-choice positions that she inspired unprecedented donations in a very short period of time for the very organization to which she objected.
Now, inspite of the cost to the American tax payers, Sarah Palin is so consumed with rage and a need for revenge that she is willing to sit back and watch as women die. How many cases of breast cancer and cervical cancer would go undetected if Planned Parenthood were unavialable to women? When dollars and cents are involved the question is not whether to protect human life. but which life to protect. People like Sarah Palin would trade the life of an adult woman for that of a 3 week old fetus. Sarah has a history of allowing hundreds of elderly people to die due to lack of the most basic needs.
It is sickening to me that Sarah, and people like her, pretend to be so concerned with protecting the unborn, but remain callous and uncaring about those who are alive.
http://malialitman.com/2015/08/02/america-cant-afford-sarah-palin-or-the-defunding-of-planned-parenthood/
I see that this time around people are again donating to PP in Sarah Palin's name. I'm sure if it means another $760,000 going to PP they won't mind whichever words dribble down from the slack RH side of Sarah's bottom lip.
DeleteI'm thinking a coffee & cake or wine & cheese get-together with your favorite smart women would be a nice way to make a nice fat joint donation in Sarah's name.
Great idea, 7:22pm!
DeleteThis was all highly coordinated and conveniently orchestrated by the Rethuglicunts in Congress.
ReplyDeleteMission Accomplished: Planned Parenthood Attacks Coordinated by High-Ranking Republican Operatives
To understand exactly how the most recent Planned Parenthood sting was planned and coordinated, you must go back to 2013. In July of 2013, Washington, D.C. reporter David Corn revealed the existence of a high-powered group of people who viewed themselves as a conservative army fighting a war on multiple fronts. From the wife of a Supreme Court justice to the chief of staff for Sen. Ted Cruz, members of this group were determined to stop all progress before it could even begin.
They Called Themselves “Groundswell”
...All Eyes on Planned Parenthood
Groundswell is now two years old, having cut its teeth on the fight against Common Core and the 2014 elections. Its members are just now hitting their stride and the evidence can be seen in the latest series of Planned Parenthood videos, which were carefully timed and coordinated for maximum political gain.
Here’s a look at the timeline and principal players. To determine the rollout, I used archived pages from the aggregation site Memeorandum and checked hourly snapshots to see how the story spread.

Ginni Thomas, Allen West, and a crew of conservative activists and journalists have formed a hush-hush coalition to battle progressives—and Karl Rove.

NARAL Tells It Truly-Planned Parenthood & Abortion Funding
ReplyDeleteRead and learn. Tell your friends. Tweet the truth.
http://littlegreenfootballs.com/page/317587_NARAL_Tells_It_Truly-Planned_P
They don't want to repeal Roe v Wade, they know that without it they have nothing. Plus, they couldn't give a shit how many Heath or Palin women have had secret abortions. Not one single shit.
ReplyDeleteThe defense should be, to any man or woman:
ReplyDeletedo you know anyone who has breast cancer, or has died of breast cancer?
Do you know anyone who has ovarian cancer, or has died of ovarian cancer?
Do you know of any teenagers or college students, including your own, who might have developed an STD and needs treatment for it? Would you deny easy, cheap treatment for them if they are infected?
Do you or your wife use any birth control methods? Do you think that poor people should not be given the availability of inexpensive birth control? Even if they're not married?
Do you think high school and college women should not have access to birth control?
Do you think that easily available and affordable colonoscopies should be available for every American?
Have you ever thought about having a vasectomy, and do you think the procedure should be available for any man who wishes to have one?
Thirty seconds of thought on any one of these issues should turn the tied on Planned Parenthood. Their offices are located in the poorest neighborhoods, for those living in poverty, or students who cannot afford a medical procedure. These are essential parts of a healthy population.
Do you believe that poor people should die at a greater rate of breast cancer and colon cancer? Should poor people suffer more from the effects of STDs? Should poor people be denied birth control options that they want, and which will reduce the number of pregnancies?
If yes, why? Please explain your reasoning.
The problem is, Republicans simply don't care about logic. They don't care about helping anyone who can't simply write a personal check to cover their health care needs. Same way they cut a campaign check.
DeleteFunny thing, without all those unplanned grandchildren that just keep coming, Granny Sarah Palin could really have been the Hot Young Thing she desperately imagines.
ReplyDeleteLove this post, G; and thanks, Obama! But, if you don't mind, I would like to add a reminder of the importance of electing Democratic governors, as well. The Kochs will have no qualms about spending their fortune to place their puppets in state houses all over this country.
ReplyDeleteWe have wasted far, far too much time and effort on emotion-driven wedge issues. It is imperative that we begin to deal with the very real issues that face our nation.
March On, Democrats!
ps...I just read that Senator Sanders plans to introduce legislation to make presidential elections publicly funded. Now that would be real progress, as well!
Your comment about governors is spot on. Local and state elections have very real and dangerous consequences, and are the ways that the radical right wing is gaining control in far too many places. We've already seen how some Republican states have gerrymandered their voting districts and changed election laws to deliberately disenfranchise millions of voters and insure continued GOP victory.
DeleteI just read an article about the governors of Alabama and Texas appointing "highly unqualified religious fanatics with no experience in public education" to run their state Boards of Education. Both of these 'leaders' publicly denounce the very existence of public schools and are determined to replace them with religious charter schools.
Let's take someone who abhors the very existence of a system and put them in charge of that system. What could go wrong?

I finished posting the above comment (7:59) and went to check Facebook. A teacher friend posted a picture of a sign on the road - in Texas - advertising vegetables. At least I THINK it was vegetables!

They have this "My way or the highway" mentality, and can't seem to discern reality from make believe. It's simple, if you're against abortion, don't have one. Mind your own private parts and leave others to mind their own.
ReplyDeleteI can't agree more, vote democratic and GOTV, our lives, our kid's lives are at stake. Barack Obama is on the right side of history, again. What a great role model for Men and fathers of girls everywhere!
I love the graphic! There's a line of "political" greeting cards, I sent one to a former co worker last week, he's a staunch GOP voter and hates the President and First Lady. But we still keep in touch and rib each other. Anyway, on the front is a photo of Barack and Michelle in the White House, along the bottom it reads "The First Lady and I send our warmest Birthday Wishes" and it's signed by Barack's inimitable penmanship.
Inside it reads "Saw this and Thought You'd like to Display it on your coffee table"
I added "That's 67 in "Bo Years!!!"
Thank you once again, President Obama! Love that Superman rendition! It's perfect!
ReplyDeleteHow Republicans can even fathom they will be elected to anything in 2016 is beyond me. They are going to be out on their asses in city, state and national elections. Just watch!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I can hardly wait to vote them out every chance I get!
still glad this man is my president. thanks, obama.
ReplyDeleteChris Christie: Loser in the Winner's Circle!

Also!~Chris Christie was heartily booed at length by a crowd of 50,000-plus as he appeared in the winner’s circle to present the Haskell trophy to the Triple Crown-winning horse’s handlers.
The jeers for Christie, which were staggering in their intensity and lasted the entire length of his presentation, reflected his well-documented lack of support for New Jersey’s struggling horse racing industry in favor of Atlantic City’s casinos.

I love your blog, Gryphen. But you can't "repeal" a court decision.
ReplyDeleteGood point.
DeleteI guess the right word would have been to overturn it once they get enough Supreme Court Justices in place
Until then they will simply pass legislation that undermines it until it is all but repealed.
Someday we will look back at the Obama Presidency and marvel at how much good this man did. And he did it against unbelievable odds and a GOP interested only in the President's personal failure. GOD BLESS BARACK OBAMA.
