I found this video the other day on Reddit, and thought it was definitely something that we needed to see again.
As sad as it is for the Scalia family to lose ole Grandpa Antonin, to be honest it might be the best thing to happen to this country in quite a few years.
Just saying.
Oh I'm not mourning this POS, not even. I just wish the next to meet the Grim Reaper would be Dick the dick Cheney.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait until Cheney dies. I just hope that it happens soon and that he doesn't go near as peacefully as Scalia apparently did. I want the bastard to suffer. I feel bad saying this of anyone but I'd be lying if I said otherwise.
DeleteNope. I want Clarence Thomas to go under either Hillary or Bernie's watch with a Dem majority in the Senate. Preferably in 2017.
DeleteThen they can make the Republican's heads explode by nominating Bill Clinton, Barack Obama or Elizabeth Warren to one of the open seats that will be happening in the next term.
I don't want Cheney to go until he has to appear before the Hague for war crimes. I also want him to go really slow and painfully.
Karl Rove also too you betcha.
Scalia never missed an opp to be wined and dined by corporations. He was loud and pretentious. One of the few Catholics beloved by the repub. His staff wrote his opinions. He was an as whole.
ReplyDeleteThis is the only country where a Catholic could be proud of hating the poor.
DeleteMost of all, Scalia was unkind.
DeleteAlito.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have Cheney dragged through the streets.
Thomas first before Alito.
DeletePeople are just being polite about Scalia. It wouldn't do say he was just a sleazy lawyer who used his legal expertise to justify his own political ideology, rather than to interpret the constitution itself. Corporations are people? Brilliant jurist my ass!
ReplyDelete4:54, Holy shit, you are soooo Right. I'm gonna quote you, if you dont mind. You've summed Scalia up better than anyone.
DeleteWhen I saw the 'Scalia is Dead' headline (thanks Gryph--we saw it here first), my spouse and I cheered. Then felt like awful people. Then cheered...repeat.
His replacement could be worse, but i doubt it. Still glad he's gone. He got an easy straw death, the gay-hater.
Love the clip, but I have a question. Why is it when anyone dies, they suddenly reach saint status? I've been to funerals that eulogized someone everyone knew was a jerk, wife beater, and gambler. I kept looking around to see if they were talking about someone else, but they used his name.
ReplyDeleteIt's the old "don't speak ill of the dead" meme. Like it will curse you or they'll come back to haunt you or something.
DeleteMostly it's a matter of sensitivity to those that love them.
But I have a feeling his family knows what an asshole he was.
My condolences to his dog, who probably is the only one that truly loved him. That doesn't say anything about Scalia but a lot about the nature of dogs.
Thanks, I never understood where it came from, and I share my condolences to his dog.
DeleteWe grew up across the street from a cemetery for about eight years and never feared ghosts, nor bad things happening, my Mom used to tell me "It's there to remind us to live each day to it's fullest".
"What happened to him? (The devil) He got willier." Good effing God! And this man was a Supreme Court justice?
ReplyDelete"While everybody is lamenting..."
ReplyDeleteTrust me, bro, not EVERYBODY is lamenting.
It's been a couple days, and I'm not completely convinced of Scalia's demise. Could someone please drive a stake through his heart, attach a crucifix inside the lid, and then chain the coffin? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteStake through his heart! Too funny! This man was an obstructionist POS. Gave the country W Bush. Need I say more??
DeleteA simple beheading would provide plenty of assurances on many fronts.
DeleteWhen my brother called after the news broke, he kept calling Scalia vile. In my life, I have never heard my brother refer to ANYBODY as vile. Not murderers. Not people who have wronged him personally. I don't think too many people are lamenting.

ReplyDeleteOT/ Jimmy Carter won a Grammy for 'best spoken word album.' Cool!! I think our President needs to record an album in 2017...
ReplyDeleteOnly Chicagoans find the Chicago accent inviting.
DeleteGood ole Antonin, give me a fu#king break!
ReplyDeleteHe was a POS!
And for everyone sympathizing wih his family? His wife hrsed women going into Planned Parenthood clinics. They both deserved worse.
DeleteWell, don't you go believing that "heart attack" shit. We all know it was murder, and we all know who doned it.

You mean the NEA didn't do it?
DeleteI know this is way off topic but now I'm pretty dang sure Bristol's baby WAS born 11/4 instead of 12/23. I've had 5 children (no grandkids yet) but it's been a long long time since I've held a newborn. My neighbor just let me hold her 1 month old today baby and she is so tiny! It was hard to tell how big or small Bristol's baby was just from pictures but now that I've inspected and held my neighbor's 1 month old I'm absolutely convinced that Bristol is lying about the birth date of her large baby. Those 2-3-4 weeks old pics she showed of Sailor was NOT a 2-3 week old baby!!
ReplyDeleteShe's been fudging the pictures since she announced her pregnancy, delaying them by at least a month. She delayed the birth photos by about 6 weeks so yeah, any photos taken of the baby out in public now by others, that baby is going to look a lot bigger than it should. Like at least a month older. She is going to figure that the discrepancy will go unnoticed. But I think the Dakota paternity tests are having her back track and possibly eventually admit Sailor was born in November. She didn't seem to object to the November date in People or TMZ or whatever rag that was.
DeleteThat's pretty damn brilliant of you. We've only known it for weeks.
DeleteWatched Friday's Maher show. Interesting?
ReplyDeleteI didn't care for the woman he had on the panel last night! She identified herself as Mexican and that was why she talked so much. Bill pretty much shut her up. She didn't like them smoking the dope either!
Delete"He got wilier! Motherf*cker!"
ReplyDeleteSorry, had to giggle on that one!
Sorry, we are supposed to be better than this. I disagreed with the man's philosophy and many of his opinions but I don't doubt that they were deeply held. I'm happy he's not on the court but not happy he's dead. Calling him names like in these comments diminishes all who say them or read them without saying "shame."
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything wrong with voicing our opinion that we are better off with him dead/gone. It would be one thing if any of us actually knew him or his family, and kept our feelings to ourselves out of respect to the family, but we don't. Plus the man lived a full 79 years! Scalia made many people's lives worse off, and we ARE glad he's gone.
DeleteWhy pretend that Scalia was a good man just because he is dead?
Delete"Mere factual innocence is no reason not to carry out a death sentence properly reached." Scalia
He was a monster. I'm glad he died. Just wish he didn't die in his sleep.
Something else that I despised about Scalia that I had to Google to verify: Scalia wore a Martyr's Cap to Obama's Inauguration. Was a not-so-subtle reminder of his opinion of Obama's attitude towards Christians. Called a Martyr's Cap because one like it was worn by the martyred St. Thomas Moore in a portrait by Holbein. (Moore was beheaded for his defiance against Henry VIII's break away from the Roman Catholic Church to form the Church of England.)
ReplyDeleteWasn't Scalia also the one shaking his head and making faces as commentary during Obama's speech?

DeleteI think that was Alito. Another a$$hole
The whole John Q Adams quote thing from earlier today made me remember as well that he was an absolute christian fellow and really stuck in his ways and actually wanted more religion in our government but saner minds fought his madness.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason to hate Reagan like I really needed one.
ReplyDeletePlease let Alito or Thomas die next.
ReplyDeleteGood riddance. Period.
ReplyDeleteI got lots of "LOLs" on Facebook, by posting a photo of "Chesney" (from "Cuckoo's Nest") and saying I'm afraid it was actually THAT guy who died. (Google image him...dead ringer for Scalia)
ReplyDeleteMeantime, because Scalia was found with a pillow over his face...had told U.S. marshalls to stay away from him that day...the family is blocking an autopsy, and rushing the event away from any scrutiny...
The stories of how Hillary Clinton snuck into his bedroom to snuff him out, are just getting started.
Personally, I always find that the louder a person is about condemning others for sexual conduct, the quicker it will be that we'll see videotape of law enforcement dragging him in handcuffs off to jail, for some despicable sex crime.
In this case, its quite likely that the eleven year old boy has been spirited off, paid well for his silence.
Just sayin'.
Agree
DeleteHillary? You'd think she would have waited until after she was sworn in.
DeleteThe current popular perpetrator is Obama but that is only after the NEA was accused because of union legislation coming up before SCOTUS soon.
Scalia has America's blood on his hands (gun rights 2008), amongst his many other crimes against humanity:

May he burn on every level of Dante's Hell.
