Wisconsin Governor, and former presidential candidate, Scott Walker floats the idea that a brokered Republican convention may decide on none of the above.

Courtesy of Madison.com:

If the Republican Party finds itself with an open convention in July, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker believes the nominee may not be Donald Trump, Ted Cruz or John Kasich.

"I think if it’s an open convention, it’s very likely it would be someone who’s not currently running," Walker told reporters Thursday. "I mean, who knows. The one thing I qualify — it’s like the qualifications you see on those ads you see for car dealerships. I think any of us who comment on this election have to qualify that almost every prediction’s been off, so it’s hard to predict anything."

You know I would typically think that a brokered convention that did not choose any of the candidates who had won delegates would be a long shot to say the least.

But after watching Ted Cruz and Donald Trump going at it tooth and nail this week, I am not discounting anything any more.

Though I also cannot imagine what kind of masochist would want to get the nomination in this way, and then get tossed into a cage match with the incredibly prepared Hillary Clinton.

Scott Walker always looks stoned to me, with those lazy eyelids of his.

    1. He has such a weak, slack-jawed, doughy, dim-witted looking face to go with his awful positions on everything. I don't understand how anyone could look at him and say "Now, that's presidential."

Nefer, with the current GOP clown car of candidates you could basically say that about any of 'em, all of 'em. The only anyones who look at them and think "sayyyy.... THAT handsome devil should be PRESIDENT!" is when they look in their own bathroom mirrors in the morning.

I'll bet anyone here that Fon Juan Drumpf calls him "low energy". And that likely could be one of the few things Trump would be correct about.

This is just Walker's way of saying "remember me?". He is such worthless piece of crap. And I agree that he does look stoned.

A brokered GOP convention scares me because it is what Paul Ryan is dreaming of. He thinks he will be the GOP savior. God help us; he's only an inch away from Ted Cruz in creepiness. Or maybe a fraction of an inch.

Paul Ryan did not/could not win his own home state in the 2012 presidential election, so why does HE scare you?

The possibility of Paul Ryan being presented as a sane Republican - you know they're good with PR - is what worries me. I feel the same way about any other possible nominee who was not a resident of the 2015-2016 Klown Kar.

Kasich will try it - he's bee running to be the vanilla candidate that goes with everything and body. He's the palatable alternative between "Angry Orange and Sorta brown (overlying the slime green for a sorta khaki camo effect.)

Can you tell I've been reading the fashion section this a.m.?

Kasich gives me a strange vibe, as though he on the verge of dementia. Strange man, in speech and mannerisms. Maybe the gop sees a resemblance to Saint Ronie?

Is Chicago 1968 really so long ago that they can't remember how that ended up for the Democrats? Or do they think that it could never happen to them?

I think this is Koch Brothers trying to engineer things their way. They are pissed that their 880 Million hasn't bought them a presidential candidate, Scott Walker is their ideal candidate and they are trying to make sure he slips into the nomination via a brokered convention

Walker should be in jail, not pontificating about presidential elections. Never mind running for the office!

I can remember when brockered conventions were normal in a presidential election.

I love the photos Gryphen chooses for his posts, they're always the best. This one has that "Dude, Where is my Car?" look to it. There's no way in hell the GOP will have a brokered convention, if they try those who've caucused and voted will feel their voice, and their vote meant nothing. Good Luck, Mr Speaker corralling those cats, Boehner retired because he saw this coming. Taking that job was as smart as saying "yes" to Romney on the VP ticket.

I think this was Walker's plan all along. Recall that when he dropped out, he said it was for the good of the party and maybe when the field is winnowed down he could jump back in for a "real" discussion. A brokered convention would be Walker's dream come true. Unfortunately, the pool of Repub. candidates is so tainted now, it's hard to imagine ANY of them as presidential material.

Walker's close-set eyes have always bugged me. He's both aesthetically and tempermentally unsuited for the Presidency. The possibility of disasters coming out of this election is so great, I want to hibernate until December.
