Hillary Clinton is considering a running mate who could make a direct appeal to supporters of Bernie Sanders, bridging a generational and political divide, according to four people close to the campaign.
Clinton’s chief requirements include a candidate’s resume and a fighter capable of hand-to-hand combat with Trump. The campaign’s vetting also prioritizes demographics over someone from a key swing state as she seeks to unify the Democratic voting base, said the individuals coordinating with the campaign, who were not authorized to speak on the record about early deliberations.
Let's see can appeal to supporters of Bernie Sanders, with a good resume, and the ability to engage in hand-to-hand combat with Donald Trump.
Nope, just can't think of ANYBODY who meets that criteria.
Yep that's a puzzler alright. We get it, @realDonaldTrump: When a woman stands up to you, you’re going to call her a basket case. Hormonal. Ugly.— Elizabeth Warren (@elizabethforma) May 11, 2016
By the way Nate Silver gives Hillary Clinton a 75% chance of winning this election..@realDonaldTrump: Your policies are dangerous. Your words are reckless. Your record is embarrassing. And your free ride is over.— Elizabeth Warren (@elizabethforma) May 11, 2016
Pretty sure with a certain running mate she can make it 100%.
I so hope it might be Elizabeth Warren. But, Hillary Clinton knows what she is doing and who will fit best with her!
ReplyDeleteI have every confidence in her where I have none when it comes to Donald Trump!
Hillary has won me over. I am looking forward to having a woman president. And a woman VP would be icing on the cake. :)

She had won me over too, and I am also looking forward to her making history, as the first woman president.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a redundant and lazy post. Warren does not want the VP job.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know? Your post is incredibly lazy and inappropriate.
DeleteUnless there is someone ehos never been mentioned the only person who could help her is Bernie. He is the sole person besides Sarah who has a heart, soul , and genuineness who is anti current DC bullshit.
ReplyDeleteAnd he's 76 years old. No way is he her VP choice. Sorry. He's going to have to go back to work and try to accomplish something in the Senate.
DeleteYou're lost again! C4P is a back click out
DeleteTruly, you're missing out! They think Ben Carson secretly announced her as veep pick today! Hurry, you miss all the prune juice toasts!
Sarah Who?
DeleteSarah Lee?
Sarah Plain and Tall?
Sarah Who?
It is never going to happen..
DeleteI love Sarah Plain and Tall. Please don't bring her into this. :)
DeleteI'm so glad I don't do Twitter.
ReplyDeleteMe too, 4:50 PM. I'm so far behind the eight ball it isn't funny!
Delete4:50 PM same here. I don't have the Fakebook either. Bliss.
DeleteI have gotten some paying jobs from Twitter. So, it has some good qualities, too.
Delete"say people not authorized to speak"
ReplyDeleteHillary rarely says anything. Nor does her campaign.
But the more the media can promote Elizabeth Warren, the more money they'll make.
Where Hillary Clinton is concerned, there is no gross, wrong or just plain nasty claim the media won't make for a buck. All from anonymous sources not authorized to speak, of course....
How was this "gross, wrong or just plain nasty"? You really need to get some perspective or a dictionary. Your hate is eating you up and you're losing your marbles.
DeleteThat is a really good photo of her. I swear, she is loving this campaign season. She looks good every day-awake, alert, and gorgeous. I can hardly wait until California is over and Bernie drops this charade.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait till the FBI hammer comes down and stops Hillary's 30 year charade.
Delete5:43pm, piss off.
DeleteYou've got a long wait, 5:43 PM, but hey look! You got a reply! Woo Hoo!
DeleteHillary Clinton has my vote and many others from friends and family members that are in my circle.
DeleteShe is a WINNER and will be an outstanding POTUS!
You will be waiting a long time because nothing will happen. I cannot believe how gullible and stupid some people are.
DeleteA really good photo of her?....
DeleteLooks to me like she just discovered her thumb looks like a penis.

Delete@5:43 PM Do you mean like the State Of Alaska's hammer that stopped Sarah Palin's 2 year charade?
DeleteWhat does this have to do do long since gone has been Sarah 7:25?
DeleteAre you still obsessing over this nobody 8 years later? Time to move on.
I'd sure like Hillary to put the spotlight on this. This is so infuriating that they are getting away with this!!
ReplyDeleteHow Obama Can Break the Impasse on the Supreme Court Vacancy
The Republicans are getting away with their disgraceful strategy of blocking the whole constitutional process for filling a Supreme Court vacancy. All signs show that although roughly two-thirds of voters do not think this stonewalling is right, the issue is simply disappearing from view and thus is falling off the radar as an electoral factor.
Something should be done, and it can.

O/T: Happy Birthday, John Leland!: Remembering An Overlooked Hero Of Church-State Separation
ReplyDeletehttps://au.org/blogs/wall-of-separation/happy-birthday-john-leland-remembering-an-overlooked-hero-of-church-state
Leland, born in Grafton, Mass., on May 14, 1754, …
Despite living in an era of fervent faith and well-established state churches, Leland was a vocal advocate for church-state separation. He believed that government meddling with matters of religion was bad for both faith and individual freedom.
Leland … consistently advocated for religious freedom resting on the principle of church-state separation. In fact, Leland played an important role in securing the Bill of Rights. When the Constitution was first submitted to the states in 1787, many in Virginia and elsewhere criticized the lack of a Bill of Rights. Leland and other Baptists were particularly upset that this draft of the Constitution included no guarantee of religious freedom.
Leland was a man far ahead of his time. Indeed, he recognized that political candidates who wrap themselves in faith should be viewed suspiciously.
“Guard against those men who make a great noise about religion in choosing representatives,” observed Leland. “It is electioneering intrigue. If they knew the nature and worth of religion, they would not debauch it to such shameful purposes. If pure religion is the criterion to [decide upon] candidates, those who make a noise about it must be rejected; for their wrangle about it proves that they are void of it. Let honesty, talents and quick dispatch characterize the men of your choice.”
(Note, by the way, that he correctly uses "criterion" as the singular form of "criteria".)
The article left out that Leland was a Baptist. That's actually rather important. Not all Baptists are like the current crop of "Southern" moniker. There are at least two groups of Baptists, The Alliance of Baptists and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, who left the "Southerns" because the SBC is so narrow-minded on too many issues. Yes, there really are Baptists who are progressive, as most of the original Baptists were. You just don't hear about them because they go quietly about doing what the Jesus of the Bible taught.
DeleteRAinNC
Yes, OT.
DeleteAnd odd that you note the correct usage of criterion.
I think he noted it because it is so rare to find people who actually use the English language correctly. To be fair though, I'm suer his education included many years of Latin, which would have made proper use of English simple.
DeleteAw BS, the reason for posting something so wildly off topic was to demonstrate how superior he is and give us a grammar lesson
DeleteAnonymous 11:04 PM (RAinNC) wrote: The article left out that Leland was a Baptist.
DeleteParagraph two of the article begins: Leland, born in Grafton, Mass., on May 14, 1754, became a nomadic Baptist preacher after abandoning the Congregationalism of his early years. There is a further reference to his faith in paragraph five. Please note that I did provide a clickable link to the article.
JUDE 12:48 AM wrote: And odd that you note the correct usage of criterion.
Did you not notice that Gryphen wrote, "who meets that criteria" instead of "who meets those (three) criteria"?
Anonymous 4:23 AM wrote: his education included many years of Latin
Five, but I learned about -on/-a in Classical Greek, which I only took for three years. A source on the web says that using "criteria" as if it were singular has been around for about fifty years—i.e. since a few years after I finished my math/physics BSc.
Shucks… I was hoping for a response from present-day Leland.
It'll take me some time, but I'm sure it'll come to me. Huma Abedeen? Tammy Duckworth? Ivana Trump? Oh oh oh, How about Liz Warren?
ReplyDeleteThe lunacy level over at C4pee is now amped up to maximum stupidity level

Hard to believe there are humans alive that are that pig-ignorant, but it's de rigeur over at the urinal

I think her Sarah's brother writes all those posts!!!
Deleteoops typo, sorry! "Sarah's brother writes all the posts."
DeleteTrump wants to lose BADLY. They are vetting VP folks who would help him lose. Sarah is perfect. But truly, Trump will not make it to November. You can tell he's already bored with it.
DeleteHe doesn't want to lose. No way will his ego allow that thought.
Delete9:19 - he does want to lose. He's so scared that he leaked his own "John Miller" tape! He's petrified.
DeleteAlso, I read at TPM and New York Mag that he probably only earns $500,00O a year, and may be worth a mere fraction of what he claims: around 250 million. He's not a billionaire. That's why he's hiding his taxes.
Hillary Clinton is a cutie (love the above photo of her!) plus being extremely bright and experienced in the workings of the United States government.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to vote for her in November and expect to see her take the oath of office for POTUS in January! She will be a wonderful follow up to President Obama!
Have a good run, Madam Secretary! The majority is behind you!
Massachusetts isn't a swing state. Not even close. I still think Castro will get it although I also like Warren ablot.
ReplyDeleteCastro has said he isn't interested.
DeleteNot true 8:06.. there are two Castros (brothers). And one has been groomed for the position.
DeleteI also love Luis Gutierrez.

Delete'He’s our hero': Hindu nationalists rally for Donald Trump in India
ReplyDeleteTrump’s stance on Muslim immigration to the US and his rhetoric against Isis has caught the attention of Hindu nationalist groups in India
... Gupta’s motives for supporting Trump were simple: “He’s the only many who can put an end to Islamic terrorism.”
Trump’s hardline stance on Muslim immigration to the US and his rhetoric against Isis and other terror organisations seem to have caught the imagination of the young Hindu fringe leader, who has grown up in a political climate where communal strife between Hindus and the Muslim minority has led to violent clashes on both sides.
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/may/13/donald-trump-india-hindu-supporters-new-delhi
Does it occur to this genius that when Trump bans all Muslims from America, that their next target will be somewhere valor-maybe a state nearby with obvious hatred for them?

ReplyDeletehttps://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/05/12/how-a-super-pac-plans-to-coordinate-directly-with-hillary-clintons-campaign/
WP? When is there article on how a PAC will coordinate directly with Trump? Please. Hillary knows how things work, unlike Tronnie Dump (if you don't get the Capitol Steps reference, you should.) Hillary would not threaten her entire campaign by doing something that obvious.
Deletehttp://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/05/2016-election-vice-presidency-donald-trump-hillary-clinton-213886
ReplyDeleteI view Politico skeptically but this article makes a good point. And Warren is too smart to be neutered by the two Clinton's desire for complete control and power. No matter what side of any fence you are, if you look at it objectively you'll agree.
ONE NAME>NEWT
DeleteI just wish--sounds petty but have to say it--that Hillary would get a little teeth whitening done. Nothing too much. Just a little. She has a great smile and it's so natural looking, whereas Trump hardly ever shows his upper teeth and they're all veneered and fake white. (I recently found a pic, too, that has him sneering so that you can see his upper gum line, and there's an obvious metal edging around one of his front teeth, so that one's actually crowned.) His need for that hair, constant tan and bright white teeth shows how badly he needs to be thought of as youthful, but it just says "hey, I'm old!" to me. Hillary is aging as she should age. I do think, though, that a little whitening would really be a plus.
ReplyDeleteSo you criticize him for his fakeness, and you want Hillary to have some of the same? Her teeth are fine..does it occur to you that photographs are shot in f=different light? I frankly have never looked at her and thought, "Gee, she'd be so much more attractive if she'd just whiten those teeth." She's not running for one of Trumps' fake beauty pageant titles.
DeleteHer teeth are just fine.
DeleteHRC plan is “win back Congress” and his, Sanders (in his own words) was for people to email and fax the Republicans.
